Speaker Question/Problem

2013-11-04 Thread dan Kerstetter
I just got a wonderful set of computer speakers; however, there seems to be
a slight problem. When I plug headphones into the speakers and really turn
it up, some of the sound bleeds through the speakers. I've read the manual
and it specifically states that plugging in headphones will cut the speakers
off. Any ideas or thoughts about this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Dan

Re: Speaker Question/Problem

2013-11-04 Thread Dane Trethowan
Okay, well I'm glad you got a wonderful! pair of computer speakers, its very
hard indeed to get a Wonderful! pair of computer speakers these days smile.

As far as bleeding of sound through the speakers themselves? I have heard of
this actually happening, does the manual specifically say that plugging in the
headphones will mute the sound? Believe it or not some models don't mute the
sound entirely to the speakers, the sound output to the speakers is just
reduced.

Now another question, does this speaker system actually have a line out
connection as well as your standard line in? I'm wondering if perhaps you have
the computer connected to a line out rather than a line in, this can cause some
funny things to happen.

And finally, If the plugging in of headphones is supposed to mute the speakers
and this isn't happening then it would appear to me at least that you have a
fault with your speakers.

My apologies if this is off topic for the list.

Is it possible to buy just a USB microphone with noise canceling? I don't
really need headphones, but my current microphone has no noise canceling
and

is very annoying.

I would appreciate any input.

Thanks.

airPlay And Plenty Of Time On My Hands

2013-11-04 Thread Dane Trethowan
Hi!

Its Melbourne Cup Day here folks, means that just about everyone's on Holiday
just for a horse race, in other words its the most boring day of the year so
thought I'd do some testing and amuse myself by seeing just how robust airPlay
can be and if it would fall over as I added devices and streams.

So what do we have going here? Let's see if I can remember everything smile.

iTunes on the iMac is streaming to my older Airport Express which is connected
to the Yamaha RXV520 in the den, been streaming for 7 hours now and still going
strong.

iPhone 5 is streaming Music to the Denon AVR2113 in the lounge, has been
streaming for an hour and a quarter and still going strong.

Mac Mini is streaming iTunes to my Bose Soundlink Air portable speaker system,
has been streaming for 2 hours and still going strong though battery of the
Soundlink's likely to go flat at any time, don't get me wrong! battery life on
a Soundlink Air battery isn't that bad, it wasn't fully charged before I
started streaming..

my iPad 4th Generation is streaming to my Second Generation Airport Express
which is in the bedroom and connected to the Bose Wave II radio's line-in
socket, has been streaming for 2 hours and still going strong.

And last but not least, my iPod touch is streaming to my JBL onAir system on
top of the fridge in my kitchen, has been streaming for the last 9 hours and
still going.

Now all this to me seems quite impressive, II'm sure that other Wireless
routers may have a bit of trouble with all this data flowing this way and that,
certainly one of the routers I had not so long ago in the past wouldn't have
stood all this - not to mention me playing about on the Internet and sending
eMail from the Windows PC into the bargain -, I'm using an Asus RTN56U router
and if anyone wants specific details on that then send me a private eMail so we
don't get off topic smile.
.

These are actually very good. The manual does say that plugging the
headphones in will turn off the speakers and sub. The speakers are
connected with clips to the sub, similar to a stereo component system. All
is properly connected.

goldwave problem

2013-11-04 Thread Joe Giovanelli
Hello,

I'm running Goldwave using the Windows 7 OS Professional on a Dell computer.
It's Goldwave version 5.58.

This works great with the XP OS. The problem is that control-j does not move
among cue points.

I tried later versions of Goldwave with the same result.

NVDA is the screen reader. I would really appreciate any thoughts you have on
this.

Thank you very much.

2013-11-04 Thread Hamid AITOUZNAG

hi all,

I havent used goldwave in a long time. I just wanted to ask you whether you are
sure control plus j is not a jaws keystroke, or rather a script's keystroke.
Iwill try it later and report back if no one does that earlier.
Take care!!
