If you have an old version, it is usable but definitely not accessible.
I use it on Windows with NVDA every single day as my primary method of
listening to music, including full albums as well as single search
results. So accessibility might be missing, but it can still be used.

tapin radio update

2014-11-14 Thread Charles Krugman
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling antivirus software as suggested and I am
still having the same problem receiving the error message that “Tapin Radio has
failed to load presets.” It then gives me the option of trying to download from
the web site. Upon trying to download from the web site I then receive an error
message that Windows has stopped working and is checking for a solution. Of
course there is still no response from Tapin Radio people. Is anyone familiar
with their other products as I wonder if it is worth trying them out or how
they work with screen reading software.

Again, sorry for the late entry into this discussion.

There seems to be a lot of discussion on this Internet Radio utility
smile though I've never tried it myself as I much prefer to listen to
any sort of radio - Internet or otherwise - in freedom and not tied to a
computer but regardless of all that, has anyone used iTunes Internet Radio?

I've used it a few times and found it performs very well and has a good
database of Radio Stations to boot, I'm sure iTunes is using one of the
well established Internet Radio databases such as vTuner etc.

I don't like ITunes radio so much. They don't really add all the
stations I want and I'm not aware of constant stream fixes and
updates. At least with Tapp in radio they do that. And ITunes don't
have a skedular and you cannot record the radio wich sucks. ITunes is
just good enough for manageing your Eye devices.

Re: tapin radio update

2014-11-14 Thread Aidan
I suggest you uninstall it again, but then after uninstallation you go
to the registry and look if you can find any key for tap in radio and
delete the key with any subkeys it might contain. Then restart the pc
and reinstall and restart again. Maybe something else is playing up
here. Also, when you uninstalled your anti virus, did you do a
complete uninstall? You should uninstall in safe moad for most
packages to be able to remove all components. To only uninstall from
control panel often leaves components behind.

Windows Machine Like A Mac Mini

Re: Radiosure

2014-11-14 Thread Dane Trethowan
Yes, there’s a lot to not like about iTunes I agree but I would have to say
that radio - from my perspective at any rate - wasn’t one of them, I’ve had
very little trouble with any of the streams I’ve listened to but then again I’m
in australia and I don’t listen to all that much Internet Radio, mainly KNX,
WBBM, 1010 WINS and so on.

As far as updated stream information goes? As far as I’m aware, iTunes doesn’t
actually have control over its streams, that is to say the streaming
information is part of an Internet Radio Database - so many other pieces of
software and hardware use these now - so its up to the database to update
itself.

I’ve found times when these databases have overlooked something or other, a
Tweet on my Twitter feed seems to fix the problem in 24 hours believe it nor
not smile

As for the radio plays for Windows we’ve been discussing? I thin I tried Tapin
Radio and never had much success with it thus quickly lost interest given my
being used to listening to Internet Radio in the back yard say rather than
sitting at the computer.

Seems too expensive for something you have to add lots of things to,
like your ram and storage. Buy the Mini and be done with it.

I'm just looking at prices now and it really depends on what you want to do.

The Machine for example at a shop I'm browsing as I write is priced at $75 and
then you have your memory and whatever hard drive you want on top of that, at
the most that's around $200 so really that's a bargain, all that has to be done
then is to install your choice of operating system, the audio is there via HDMI
or headphone/microphone socket on the back, 3 USB ports - 1 3.0 and 2 2.0 - for
other devices. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi already built-in along with an Eternet
socket.

Ah yes, of course you'll have to get a keyboard but still very cheap and
economical for a dekstop machine.

Well, the prices quoted in the review were a whole bunch more than $75.
If you have the help or are competent to install the memory and
storage, then $75 plus that stuff isn't a bad deal.

Yes you’re right about the review, there are different models of Nuc around it
seems, the review was focusing on a Quad Core i5, there are Duo Core models and
they are cheaper, certainly they would provide the functionality most people
would need.

The memory you could probably install yourself but some people may prefer to
have it installed for them obviously.
