You can set the mix parameters in the preference menue.

Hi:
You ahve several ix options in the imx menue, just like in SF 8.
You can also parameter fading in the preference menue.
Personally, I prefer to use the process/fade-in/fade-out that works very
good for the type of mixing I need.
Hope it helps.

I'm not a big TV buff or VCR or DVD user, so I'm not sure if I'd really want
one of these. However, I am a tremendous music lover, and might someday
consider it for sending music from the computer to the stereo. So, I will

I would like to try the Apple TV now that it is accessible, but at the
moment I don't have anything with either an optical or an HDMI input. Time
to check those big sales again, I guess!

 Hi!

One of the things I'm very much looking forward to this week is the
arrival of my Apple TV, I'm sure others will write pieces on this multi
media device in due course along with myself, I'll be making reference to
it often on my TTwitter and I'll be doing various reviews of it on my
 blog.

In short this device which is around 3 inches square allows the streaming
of media from Itunes computers or other compatible devices on your
network, Youtunes videos, Netflicks, etc to your TV or an audio device
through the Optical digital or HDMI connections on the device, you control

what you hear with a remote control, not unlike that which used to come as

standard with the Apple Imac and Macbook computers.

Apple TV now supports accessibility through Voiceover so - once set up - a

blind person can browse their media library and so on deciding what to
 hear.

no reason why a music lover couldn't get enjoyment out of an Apple TV for
the reasons you outlined, streaming music is my primary concern too! and the
Apple TV has an optical digital connection, just perfect for the connection
to a good stereo amp or digital processor.

A good D software is stationplaylist
http://www.stationplaylist.com
For a very low price you can obtain a quite satisfactory result. This piece

Now my uestion is:
Does any of you know of any piece of software that enables live DJing? (by
DJing I mean, mixing tracks in the same tempo, sractching, back spinning
etc).
Every iece of software I have tried in the recent years has proven to be
unaccessible : Traktor, Mixvibes, Cerato etc).
Does any of you have any information about that?
Thanks

Help with voiceovers in Sound Forge (Matthew Bullis)

2009-09-24 Thread aymeric vildieu
Hi:
To use the voiceover function I sugest the following:
Press control m
Which is the shortcut for
dit - mix.
Then in the rop-down list, use the voiceover which is the last option of
the list and it should work just fine.
Of course, before that you need to copy your whole voice file in order to
mix it in the music file.
Hope it helps.

sp2 and burning CD's, issues?

2005-01-01 Thread Aymeric Vildieu
Hi everyone!
this question might have been raised before and if yes well all my
apologies to ask it again.

I recently upgraded to windows xp sp2 pro edition. I don't know if it is
related to this but yesterday I wanted to burn a CD. Everything seemed to
run smoothly and my burning software (I used real player 10 for this) said
that tracks were on CD. As I checked the CD I found out that there was
nothing at all on it.
I used a CDR, burning at a 24X speed.
After this I tried with roxio easy CD Creator 5 and nothing. Same issue.
So, what is it due to? Is there something in SP2 that prevents the burning
of CDs?
Do I need to upgrade roxio to CD/DVDcreator 7?

I'm asking this because given the price of such upgrade I'd like to make
sure that there is an issue with sp2. If there is none known then that
means that the problem comes from somewhere else (CD burner for instance)

Thanks in advance for your kind answer

Re: Problems when recording from goldwave.

Hi!
Most external soundcards don't allow the recording from the system mixer
source but there is a way to bypass it making the soundcard beleive that
you are recording from the line-in source.
You need to plus in the output and inut of your soundcard a cord with two
jacks in both ends..
the result is that the sound will go like in a loop, goingout of your
computer than coming back in...
Hope it helps

Re: DVD Delimma

2004-11-11 Thread Aymeric Vildieu
Hi!
Here is what I personnally use (but it does not mean that there is nothing
better. I just find it easier for my own needs).
I personnally use real player for everything. Jaws works pretty well with
it and with real player you can do everything, play dvds, burn cds, rip
cds, in all formats but ogg (for the moment). i'dd say it's pretty good and
it's all in one.

Winamp does not play dvds though.
that's all I can say. but maybe it is better to use different smaller
programs. I don't know...

Hi All,
Well, I haven't messed with DVD's yet, but I've decided now's the time. So,
where do I start. I have the following questions.
1. Is it better and easier to simplay play DVD's on the computer since you
already have the screenreader, and how well does the screenreader work with
them?
2. If using the computer, which software is best? Windows Media player,
Winamp, or some other one?
3. If not using the computer, which of the portable or stereo component
ones are the most accessable.
I want to be able to burn and play cd's, mp3's, wma's and as many type of
audio files as possible. Plus, of course, playing DVD movies and concerts.
I already have a DVD drive and CD-RW drive as well as Jaws on my computer.
So if I purchase a separate unit I want to get the most practical one
possible.
All advice will be greatly appreciated.

Re: VORBIS COMPARED TO MP3

2004-11-11 Thread Aymeric Vildieu
Vorbis is definitely far better than mp3 :
First on the philosophical level : it is an open-source standard, so no
copyrights involved.
2 : the soundquality is far better than mp3 and allows a bigher sampling rate.

A 160kbps ogg will sound clearer than a 320kbps mp3.
I really encourage you to play with it. you'll be really amazed... Ogg
vorbis has, in my ears, a siilar quality to the aac format.

I deselected aif and aiff files from winamp's list.
I went back in and re-selected them, and deselected asf.
Bingo! I can now hear W.M.P. streams.
Thanks so much.

Hi Doug!
to solve the problem go to your winamp go to preferences and then media
types. (orr file type I forgot) then deselect asf.
this way the software you use to play your wma files (.asx) will play
then and you won't have to save them as (which anyway does not work)

Hope this helps
PS : It has to do with winamp not with windows media player as strange
as it may seem. i ahd this problem too)

I know this has to do with WMP. My problem is this:
When I click on a radio link that has that extension,
I get a download dialog. The only way I can get these things to play
is to save the damn thing and click on it when it's downloaded.
Quite frankly, I find that a pain.
Is there a way I can play the stream without having to save it?
Oh, by the way, when the save dialog box comes up, I do get a message
that the file can't be open, so that option isn't even available.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Playing Real Audio content

2004-10-31 Thread Aymeric Vildieu
Hi Doug!
winamp canot play real audio content. I saw a plug-in once allowing to read
real audio content but I would never guarantee that it works. Anyway we can
find nothing on the plug-in section of winamp.com.
it ahs to do with copyright and pattent issues. so I think you'll have to
bear with real player to play real content

Well, it should work then.
the problem is that real player 10.5 is a beta version. Which means that

Subject: Problem with Radio Broadcast Links.
Hi all.
I'm creating a home page on my computer with links to various radio
stations, so that I can listen to streaming radio through my computer,
and possibly, record using goldwave, broadcast material.
My problem is when I click on a URL for some radio stations, I get the
following message from my computer. The file your downloading cannot
be opened by the default program. It is either corrupted or it has an
incorrect filetype. As a security precaution, it is recommended that
you cancel the download I then get an option to Save the file in My
Documents or Cancel.
I'm using Real Player 10 and think that perhaps I need to adjust some
setting in there to allow the download and listening of this file.
In case I am making an error with the code, I've copied one of the
URL'S below.

accessible software to mix on pc

2004-10-22 Thread Aymeric Vildieu
Hi all!
I love electronic music and one of my dreams would be to go behind the 1
and 2s and to histerize a dancefloor.
Well, it has never happenand I doubt it will one day. nonetheless, no that
softwares are available I was wondering if there was any software allowing
me to be a virtual dj that was accessible with jfw.
does any one know?
I heard that dj traktor is very sighted-user friendly because it has alot
of keyboard shortcuts. It could be blind-friendly too but I have never been
able to have jfw working in it. Same for something like mixvibes.
Is anyone aware of potential scripts?

thanks alot for your kind answers :))

PS : If you mention a software, could you be kind enough to give the URL of
the place from which it can be downloaded?

Hi :))
I'm a real player 10 user and have the same problem with it.
It happened whenI wanted to play ogg files after having downloaded the

also happened for other radio stations.
I think it has to do with real player 10 that is full of bugs it seems.
