I'd add you have to have a queue at the beginning of the file or it won't
include that part.

then press ctrl+Q, and start playing, pause again, and drop as many cues as
you like this way, after you cued the entire file, from the edit menu, cue
sub menu, select split file, there, select the folder you want the files in,
then for the naming thing, see what you like, and in a box just before the
first number, type 2 number signs, and then in the box for number, type 01

 Subject: Splitting mp3 files

 Hi
I'm looking for advice either on using Windows Media Player 11 or on
how to split MP3 files quickly and easily.
Recently I downloaded a 10 hour mp3 book. I can speed it up in Windows
Media Player but on using the Seek option or Fast Forward one I keep
getting stuck on the increments Media player allows. I cannot seem
just to fast forward to the place I stopped so I can restart.
If I were to cut up the file, say in Gold Wave, is there an easy way
of specifying the sections to break it into, then saving each into
more manageable files for playback in WMP at the fast speed?

Subject: A question regarding multitrack recording

Greetings all

For the past 7-8 years I've been using Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 (yes, I realise
that this program is now ancient), but the reason I stuck with Cakewalk so
long, is because it works for me, and I know it well.
However, I'm increasingly needing to import .mp3 files into my projects, but
every time I want to use an mp3 file, I have to convert it back to wave
format.

My question then is this:
Is there a program that would allow you to do multitrack recordings, but
would also allow you to import files in other formats than wav, e.g. mp3,
flac, ogg, etc?
Also, would said program be reasonably accessible, and if not, are there
Jaws scripts for the program available?

Thanks for any help, it will be much appreciated.

All the best

I'm using CDex to rip some CD's that have tracks that run into each other.
I can't get the half second or so of silence between the run together tracks
to go away.

I tried using Exact Audio Copy, but for some reason it would not interface
correctly with my machine.

I would appreciate any suggestions on how to configure CDex so I can have no
silence between tracks where there isn't supposed to be any.

Thanks.

The easiest program is still Winamp, and, thankfully, it's still free.
The only thing Station Playlist does for you that Winamp doesn't is
offer you a very nice but expensive wrapper around very basic
functions. If you are happy enough with picking your own music,
managing your own collection, etc., then stick with what you know. As
much as I love wiz-bang feature-rich software, I advocate the KISS

Hello List!

I've been searching for an easy-to-use DJ program and someone recommended
StationPlaylist Studio/Editor/Streamer. From the
documentation, it appears to be an easy program to navigate around; however, in
reality, it has a lot of functions available and
setting it up is a tough thing for me. If anyone uses this program and knows
of a tutorial or example of how to set it up and
use, I'd appreciate having it sent to me or if that person could tell me where
to get it. I'm actually looking for the easiest

easy to do. I'm using their demo pro version now for

Hi Everyone!
It was suggested on this list a week or so ago that I do a tutorial on
Amadeus Pro? This is the new Audio Editor for the Mac which is
extremely accessible and which gives the editor a whole bunch of
tools and tricks into the very good value-for-money price of $40.00.
Well the tutorial is now under construction and (to make it more fun
and worthwhile) 2 of us are working on it so you'll be getting our
dialogue to guide you smile. This tutorial won't be a long and
boring book either, it will be split up into several sections, that
way we figured it will give whatever audience we have the chance to
ask questions, raise issues, leave feedback, tell us to go and get
stuffed or whatever smile.
I was going to upload this stuff to blind cool tech however the people
at that site don't appear to be able to pay prompt attention to
uploads sometimes, I've uploaded a series of podcasting segments and I
haven't even received acknowledgement that they've arrived, haven't
arrived or whether they're wanted or not as the case may be so I've
decided to create my own Podcast page, more details on this when I
finish constructing it. This way, interested folks can subscribe thus
get whatever my latest offering is when it becomes available.
More tutorials I know are on the way, not just from me but from other
individuals (I'm particularly thinking of tutorials aimed at the Mac
here) and these include subjects as diverse as Garage Band, I'll
publish the links to these if and when they become available.
Cheers

Hi all,

Wondering if the following scenario is feasible, and if so, which mics you
all might recommend.

I would like to be able to use a headset type mic, the sort which goes over
your head, and has a mic which curves around one side to point at your
mouth. However, I'd like it to be wireless or bluetooth, whichever would be
more effective. My intention with this set up is to be able to interact in
chat rooms, without having to be completely tethered to sitting at the pc.
It would seem that bluetooth is the stronger choice, but I will defer to
others with greater experience than myself.

Thanks,

Yes, I've heard a lot about Goldwave but never tried it yet, ah well
it won't do any harm to add it to the editor collection. The Sound
Forge manual is a monster, when I last looked at it I think it was
about 400 pages or more, anyone digested each and every page of it
yet? I was considerably impressed with Wavepad too, been a while since
I looked at it but I don't think it was too badly priced either.
Audasity should be worthwile investigating too if features available
in 1.35 beta make it to the next official version.

On 02/03/2008, at 5:00 AM, Larry N wrote:

Hi Billy. Interesting question. I have 4 sound editors onboard.
 There's
GoldWave, Sound Forge 8, DC 6 and WavePad. If you are asking about
 simple
ease of use, accessibility and a manual that is easy to understand
 and set
up in a way that can be accessed quickly, then GoldWave wins hands
 down.
However, there are tasks that DC6 performs better than any piece of
 software
that I've ever used. For instance, it has excellent hiss reduction and
comprehensive noise reduction. The down side is that its manual is
 difficult
 to use with speech.

And Sound Forge? I truly feel that I get less out of it than I
 probably
should, simply due to a lack of understanding. For instance, Sound
 Forge
works with editable files which are made into and edited from what the
program calls regions. What is a region? I'm not exactly sure, nor
 am I
certain how to go about creating one or editing the thing with
 keyboard
alone. Perhaps it is my own inability to understand, but none of the
 Sound
Forge faithful have been able to show me why this program is worth
 its hefty
price tag. I would still love to know how to take a recorded file,
 such as
that generated by a vinyl LP and edit out pops clicks and extraneous
 noise,
then burn it onto a CD using Sound Forge only. Others in this group
 can do
so, however I have not succeeded as yet.

Meanwhile, with the exception of actually burning the CD, I can edit a
project from start to finish using either GoldWave or DC6,

To be entirely fair, I can perform some tasks more quickly while
 using Sound
Forge. It's equalizer is superior. Its general audio restoration
 feature
works quickly and for the most part reliably when applied to an
 entire file.
But I don't find the manual easy to use, so I'm sure I'm not getting
 the
 most from the program.

As for WavePad, that hasn't been discussed much here. I own a copy,
 but to
be honest, I haven't played with it a great deal as yet.

Others will have their own ideas, but if I were buying my first
 audio editor
which could take me far beyond the beginner stage, I would choose
 GoldWave.

Hope this helps you in some small way.

 Larry

Maybe I'm missing something really obvious here, but I've got a question. I
also have the Winamp plug-in thing for Goldwave and it works fine for me.
So, please tell me if you would, what's the big deal, and what's the
difference, between going to the effects menu and picking a plug-in or going
to the effects menu and choosing a built-in effect. I guess I'm just not
seeing what the big deal is, and from the tone of the message below it seems
as though you just don't like the program and no matter what was done it
wouldn't make a difference. This is just my opinion of course, but I just
found the below message to be rather rude.

I've had very good success using the noiseprint filter to remove air
conditioning noises and so on using Gold Wave. It has been my experience
that if someone who knows what they are doing cannot remove the noise
artificat-free in Gold Wave, none of the other non-professional methods,
and few if any of the professional ones, will do any better. Most
efforts leave you either with a lot of artifacts or a very
tinny-sounding audio. My personal belief is that if it sounds filtered,
you're better off with the noise.

If you want the best of the best you should go with sonar. Goldwave and sound
fordge do mostly the same thing except goldwave is a
lot cheaper and the scripts are free.

To be entirely fair, I can perform some tasks more quickly while
 using Sound

 Larry

I love that sort of question as everyone is bound to have a different
opinion smile and (in my opinion) there is no best audio editing
software solution on the market just as there is and never will be a
perfect cassette recorder on the market, each package has its
advantages and disadvantages and I'll give you my opinion for what its
worth and I'm sure it will open up many lines of discussions.
You mention Sound Forge? Yes, that's not a bad package but my
annoyance with Sound Forge is that its one of those packages that
tries to be everything to everyone so in the process you find many
areas which have been comprimised. Its been my experience for instance
that if you record in Sound Forge and you look at the markers log,
you'll see that Sound Forge notes many minor gaps in the recording and
in my view that's just not good enough for a so-called professional
piece of software so given that I found myself using Sound Forge
exclusively for editing purposes and then doing the recording job with
Total recorder. As a footnote to this however, I found that most of
the stuff I recorded with Total Recorder were easily edited anyway
with that package so in the end? Well for what I was doing Sound Forge
had turned out to be a massive waste of money and I thus never
bothered to upgrade from Version 8 to Version 9, that was all of
course before the Mac came along and changed everything when it came
to audio editors and I'll mention this here again because for those
who are starting out with audio editing could be in for some very
 pleasant and cheap surprises.
I have 3 different audio editors for the Mac, why 3 you ask? Well put
simply, these editors were dirt cheap, each has advantages and
disadvantages over each so it was worthwhile it appears to buy all 3
to see what each offered. My favourite thus far is fast becoming
Amadeus Pro which I bought a couple of weeks ago for $40.00 and it
appears to be the most accessible editor for the Mac I've seen yet. I
won't go into everything that Amadeus Pro offers as we'd be here all
night if I listed everything but I'll tell you a few things to wet the
appetite. first and foremost, it has many ways and means to move and
manipulate audio data. Next you have full control of multi track
editing. Then, you have the built-in audio noise reduction stuff.
Finally, the world is your oyster, not only can Amadeus Pro use its
own extensive range of plug-ins, you can download extra plug-ins from
the net or use those which come with Apple's Operating System Leopard.
So their's my opinion again, for what its worth smile.

Hi Dan:

Basically anything that facilitates recording and editing is good.
If you got those, you'll want to produce your recording and
then prepare it for upload.

The preparation of an audio for podcast should follow these principals.

1. File format is optimized for fastest download with the best audio.
This would mean usingcompression and or normalization in
your recordings but this is not truly necessary unless you want
to sound great.

It will also mean mp3 bit rates less than 96 .

 Hi Dan:

Basically anything that facilitates recording and editing is good.
If you got those, you'll want to produce your recording and
 then prepare it for upload.

The preparation of an audio for podcast should follow these principals.

 1. File format is optimized for fastest download with the best
 audio.
This would mean usingcompression and or normalization in
your recordings but this is not truly necessary unless you want
 to sound great.

It will also mean mp3 bit rates less than 96 .

Is there a setting in station playlist, that would allow me to turn down
the volume of the music so that I could still hear the stuff that Jaws is
reading, and without lowering the volume of the content that I'm streaming

Hello. you should check the box in the output mixer tab that says continues
streaming. Also make sure that inth input tab both ar
set to mic and then make sure the card is right for mic as well. You can record
right from studio to test to see what happens. I
do this all the time before my show. To hear me use spl studio tonight go to
www.hkcradio.com at about 9:00 pm eastern time and
click on one of the stream links.

I can't however get the microphone to work, (I can hear myself talking, but
people who listen to my audio over the Internet, can only hear the music I
play, but when I talk inbetween songs, they hear nothing).
Any hint as to what I'm doing wrong, and what I should change in the

Thanks for any help.

I paid $200.00 for this machine.
Now if anyone is thinking of purchasing a DAT then I wouldn't advise
it, I have about 100 DAT tapes here but if you don't have any at all?
Well chances are that this will be the status quo for you as DAT
tapes have not been in production since 2006 and to be perfectly blunt
about it, there's little point in owning one now that you can use a
Mac or PC for so much in the way of audio recording.

Judy, If you have the newest firmware 1.3, you can also press the
repeat a-b button while recording. This is the very right button of
the three buttons row on the front. This wil create a new file, if you
turned the appropriate setting on in the menu.

Audrey, unless things have changed, you can only record a couple of minutes of
audio with sound recorder, so if you have a lengthy project, you have to keep
appending to the end of the recording. the main thing is to have a program that
is
efficient to save you time.

trying to rippe, winamp makes my life so much easier. My concern is though,
will it do as good as a job as cdex? I am ripping to
mp3s at 320. I set winamp only to rippe at 4x in hopes that this will produce
less errors. I am using winamp 5.35. Is there any
way to use the lame encoder in winamp? Any opinions?

It used to be that you could choose which data base you used to identify
tracks in CDEX. Is it still true?

gives me a playlist and that's it.

I am using Acer Asprie 5570 Z with genuine intel mother board and realtech
sound card. When I am having voice chats in any

very low. This happens even after my having raised
mick volume to 100% it gradually goes back to 3% or so but i have to raise it
again. Why does this happen? and how to stop jaws
from going into opposit party's speaker? Please help.

Have him check the mute box and then in recording select the mic and bring

thought wave is automatically unchecked when you check another item such as

i would normally keep the mic volume down to 3% for sound quality.

Hi guysI'm trying to rip Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and am
encountering a problem. For those who are familiar with this CD, the
tracks don't have a gap between them; instead, they cross fade. I've
used CDex and WMP to rip the CD, but the tracks are cut off at the
end. Is there such a thing as disk at once for ripping? Can this
be accomplished using CDex or WMP?
Thanks for your input, Norma

Subject: interesting streaming situation with the sam encoders

Hi. Forgive me if this is the wrong list for this, but this is
pc-audio after all and this kind of involve the pc and audio so I
guess it can't hurt to try. I'm trying to help my girlfriend get set
up with the Sam Encoders. She used the Shoutcast plugin before but
due to her situation she needs multiple encoders so I recommended sam
to her. So she got it, and the lame encoder, this is the latest one.
Now, maybe it's a problem with the way we're installing the lame
encoder. I was given some directions a while back that said to place
the lame_enc.dll file in the c:\windows\system folder, but maybe that
only applies to goldwave? Even more interesting is the fact that I
went ahead and sent her my settings file for the sam encoders, and
when she launches the encoders window, all the choices show up as
128k, 44.1 stereo, but when she tries to add a new one, the only
settings that show up for her are only up to 56k. How can we set it
up so she can get encoder settings above 56k? The stations she's on
would like for her to be at at least 96k, and if she can only choose
encoder settings up to 56 k this won't work. BTW when she chooses an
encoder, this is the mp3 and mp3 pro encoder, and it does the same
thing with the legacy MP3 encoder as well. It works just fine on my
system but not hers. If anyone has any thoughts, I'd love to hear
any sollutions.

Thanks.

hi listers.
I have tried to reconvert a file that I converted in cdex. I made the
mistake of turning it in to a wave file, when I wanted it to be an MP3
file.
when I go in to cedex and I try to change it, I get a message something
about file not found or something.
so I decided to try gold wave for this task.
I go in to gold wave, I bring up the file that I want, I go in to the
menus to where it says options and I go to where I can convert the file,
and I press enter and then I try to say the file, but nothing happens.
can any one on here help me with this.
can you send me the steps on how to convert a wave file in to an MP3 in
gold wave?
thanks so much for your time.

Yes,
1. Put a blank cd in the cd burner.
2. Locate a song you want to put on the cd and copy it to the clipboard.
TThis is done by clicking your right mouse or pressing the application key
and then clicking or pressing enter on copy.
3. Press alt plus tab or maximize the cd burner drive again.
4. Click the right mouse or press the application key and click or press
enter on past.

You can also use control plus c for copy or control plus vv for paste.
5. Just repeate this process until you have around 18 to 20 songs on the
cd.6. Click the right mouse or press the applicatioon key and choose write
the files to cd.
A wizard will open. You must click on the first next.7. You will be asked
if you want to make an audio cd or data. Choose the audio.
8. Click on next.
9. Wndows media player opens at this point on my computer.
I must then tab until reaching copy and pressing the spacebar to start the
cd burning process. You could just click on copy. Make sure you don't
click on copy from cd or any other choice regarding copying excapt the one
that just says copy.
The cd burner will open when it is finished.

 Hi,

I want to make an audio CD and haven't done this before. If I have wave
files will I be able to burn these to CD with the CD burning wizard (that
comes up when you right click the CD drive and choose write these files
 to
 CD)?

Also, presumably I should add some silence to the end of each track?
 These
are recordings I've made from the radio and have chopped off the
 unnecessary
ends; so do I need to put some silence at the end of each track so they
don't all play as one long sound in a CD player?

 Thanks,
 Catherine

Hi there

Yes you can burn these files on to a CD. You can also edit the files with
something like Goldwave or Sound forge to put the silence that you want.

Hope this is of some help to you.

This happens since a couple of weeks and I've no idea, why Winamp does
that, it happened with 5.5 and it does with 5.51. When I stop the
playback, the volume of Eloquence is set back to its normal value. Has
anybody here experienced this behaviour too? It's not a big problem,
but I'd like to know, how one could disable this. I use the
DirectSound PlugIn, and I'd like to continue to use it.

Thanks

Subject: Downloading multi files?

Hi all, got a question here,
Ok, I need to download a lot of mp3 files from a certain site. There are
different categories and under each category there might be 20 or so
separate files. Now I do not have the time to download each file and so
my question is..
How do or how can I download a segment or a group of files in a list, all
at the same time?
Is there a special way?
I know to highlight but will they all then downlod?

  Hi everyone,

Looking for a small nice mixer I can use for doing podcasts from my PC.
  i
need a couple of RCA stereo inputs, a 1/8 stereo / mono microphone
  input
and a RCA or 1/8 stero output. I've heard that there are USB models
  out
there. Are these a good way to go? Looking to spend $100 or less and
looking for something pretty easy to use. I don't requier EQ or
  anything
like it as I'll be feeding the mixer output in to a PC for recording.

  Thanks,

making a decission.
If you ave my skype info feel free to add me and we could walk through
everything as that's the bbest way tor me to learn. I did
read themanual and i can incert ande play songs but how to make people hear
them is another matter. lol!

Glad you got things solved with that Sarah.
It'd especially be annoying especially if you're using winamp to
broadcast, but luckily I'm useing SPL Studio here as well.

Hi Sarah, did you happen to install the games yesterday from litetech? They
change speaker behavior to surround sound, which makes lower volume if
you're just using stereo speakers or headphones. I found this out the hard
way when I noticed my sounds from all my files were peculiar sounding, so
went searching, first for restore, and then it dawned on me what to search
for under the sounds and audio devices APL in control panel. :) I hope
this helps.

Hi everyone,

Looking for a small nice mixer I can use for doing podcasts from my PC. i need
a couple of RCA stereo inputs, a 1/8 stereo / mono
microphone input and a RCA or 1/8 stero output. I've heard that there are USB
models out there. Are these a good way to go?
Looking to spend $100 or less and looking for something pretty easy to use. I
don't requier EQ or anything like it as I'll be
feeding the mixer output in to a PC for recording.

Thanks,

Rick

Dane, All in all, I also prefer the Olympus DS-50, when one compares it with
the Sony ICD-SX67. However, the 67 offers real line-in recording, so
that one can record radio talkshows with it easily. When one connects
it to a PC, it becomes a regular drive and one can use any file
manager to copy MP3 files onto it, which the Sony will play. Most of
the menu items are adjustable with the supplied Sony Voice Editor,
which is screenreader friendly. Yes, the recording format is
proprietary, but one can easily convert recordings to MP3 with Voice
Editor and when one divides a recording on the ICD-SX67, there's no
gap between the parts. If one does that on the Edirol R-09 for
instance, one can clearly hear a gap.

 You wrote:

Incidentally talking about recorders, I notice that the Olympus range
of Recorders (Voice Recorders to be more accurate) got a very good
review in our local newspaper last Thursday as compared to the new
Sony offering. One of the drawbacks with the Sony was that it used its
own proprarity audio encoding and you needed extra software to
transfer and decode the audio to make it compatible for playing on a
PC. Further to this the Sony model (whilst it could be connected to a
PC) did not function as an external drive meaning that once again,
extra software had to be used to make it act this way, no Mac software
exists for the Sony recorder of course.

Yep, that is a bit surprising, I mean 64 meg cards for example
 aren't
exactly what one would call expensive are they.
Now can someone tell us more about the reader as I'm thinking
 of
getting myself one next year, what formats does it record in?
 Does the
reader have a line-in jack or facility? At present I have my
 mind set
on either the Zoom h2 or h4 recorder but if there's something a
 little
more accessible out there then I'd be interested to hear about
 it, the
Zoom doesn't have synthesized speech or anything but there are
 plenty
of blind people out there using them as evidenced from the
 reviews on
 them at http://www.blindcooltech.com

 I just bought 2 four gig s d cards from J R for $29 each so
 they

getting one soon and need to know some things about it.
 First,
 will this
come with accessible instructions? Second, is there a
 tutorial on
 it
somewhere so I can learn in detail what to do and how to
 operate
 it? If
not then I'll have lots of questions for the group (smile),
 but just
wondered if there's a good tutorial. And if someone can tell
 me
 this, how
much music or about how many gigs is on the SD card provided?
 Thanks.

Do you mean, you press the repeat a-b button to divide a file during
recording and if you then hear it on the recorder, there's no gap?
Well if I do that, there definitely is one, not very large, a quarter
of a second or so, but it's there. With the Sony voice recorder and
also with Sony's new music recorder PCM-D50, one can even divide files
after they were recorded.

 I just bought 2 four gig s d cards from J R for $29 each so
 they

 expensive.
It was a surprise to me though when the unit came and there

Haven't been following threads on this because I didn't have
 one,
 but I'm
getting one soon and need to know some things about it.
 First,
 will this
come with accessible instructions? Second, is there a
 tutorial on
 it
somewhere so I can learn in detail what to do and how to
 operate
 it? If
not then I'll have lots of questions for the group (smile),
 but just
wondered if there's a good tutorial. And if someone can tell
 me
 this, how
much music or about how many gigs is on the SD card provided?
 Thanks.

Hi all,

I have here a number of audio books on cd I wish to convert to files to take
on my audio player. It supports mp3 or OGG. I prefer OGG.

I want to be able to rip the cd and instead of having 20 or so tracks for
each cd I want to have 1 track for each cd. so I have 11 files instead of
over 300. (SMILE)

What application would give me the best result? remembering that I don't
want to have to join all the files after ripping them. I use CDEX but it is
very tricky to do that with.
I also have soundForge with cd arketect but have never used it.

Any assistance greatly appreciated.

hand on how to use this thing maybe off list or over skype? Thanks

I'll start out with a general overview. If you want to know more,
write me off-list.

Station Playlist is a two-part system--the playlist creation part, and
the actual play-out part. You can buy them independently or get a
price discount if you buy them both at the same time.

Station Playlist Creator builds playlists based on categories (types
of music--slow, fast, dance, country, Slovanic bell-ringing, you name
it), and spot groups (announcements of any kind) These are put into
rotations, and the rotations are used to generate the actual playlist
files. There are additional things you can put into a playlist called
break notes, which do specific things to Station Playlist Studio when
the resultant playlist file is run through it. Station Playlist
Creator keeps a database of your musical selections, when it was that
they were last put into a playlist, when it was that they were last
played, and allows you to tweak these values so you don't get, say,
too many Barry Manilow songs clustered together, or you don't get the
same song by two different artists played too close together.

Station Playlist Studio is the play-out side of the system. It takes
playlists created in either Creator or Winamp or your favorite
playlist creator software and does exactly what it says--it plays the
tracks in the playlist. In addition, it responds to the
aforementioned break note codes to make it perform certain functions,
possibly at certain times during the hour.

Now, you might say, Station Playlist Studio is just a fancy Winamp
replacement. In certain respects, that's correct. It does what
Winamp does--it plays media files. However, there's a whole control
panel behind Studio that lets you add audio compression, control
crossfading even better than SQR does, and with a much nicer,
single-page interface.

Studio also has the capability to load and run playlists based on time
of day. Since it's made primarily for use as a play-out system for
radio stations, it can play directly from the computer's files, or
open the line-in audio on the computer and play something coming over
an external audio feed. The operator also has the capability of doing
what's called a live-assist program, where Studio plays through the
playlist until the operator presses a button that says stop playing.
Pressing another button turns on the microphone so the operator can
talk.

Station Playlist Studio used to be based on Winamp. However, the
newest version does away with Winamp for all but one small function of
the system, a function which

Just so that StationPlaylist isn't sold short here, while it does interface
with a range of Winamp-compatible streaming plug-ins, and is actually
bundled with Oddcast for streaming, the StationPlaylist suite is a full
broadcasting package. It is used in many radio stations around the world
now. While it started as a tool for LPFM broadcasters here in new Zealand,
where the developer is based and where there is a thriving LPFM scene, it's
grown in the six years or so that it's been around and is being used by a
number of 50 thousand watt commercial broadcasters. So yes you can use it to
stream, but it's also the engine behind many AM and FM radio stations too.
It supports advanced features such as voice tracking, temperature
announcements, time announcements, and intro announcements, so if you're
willing to put the work in, you can make an automated radio station sound
pretty much live.

I've used it since it came out, when I was running an LPFM station here, and
have worked with the author particularly during the early days on
accessibility issues. He has been brilliant about making changes to ensure
that the software is accessible. It's been good to see more and more blind
people support him over the years.

Hi there sarah, no, because StationPlaylist has its own mixer and microphone
management, the output doesn't have to be on stereo mix. The advantage of
this is that if you only have one sound card with speech going through it,
listeners don't hear your speech.

After your first post to the list about StationPlaylist, I did send you an
add request offering to assist you via Skype, so am still happy to do that
if you'd like some help.

All the best,

Lots of Internet broadcasters use Studio and Creator together to
create their shows.

While this is just scratching the surface, it should be enough to get
you started toward creating at least one category and one rotation.

withCallBurner Ca

Hello CallBurner Support!
Below are two problems I am experiencing with CallBurner since I upgraded to
Skype Version 3.6.

(1) I have been using CallBurner for months and, up until upgrading to
Skype Version 3.6 from Version 3.5, things went well; however, now that I
have Skype Version 3.6, during a call, the recording is half done. The
CallBurner Program records both voices, but only my voice (from my system)
is intelligible and the second party's voice is low and recorded at a very
slow rate (speed). The recording sounds like a record, with a secondary
sound behind it. I use to hear all clear voices at the same quality. Could
you tell me what to do to get this feature working again. I want a clear
and high quality recording of both aspects of the conversation.

(2) Also, If I make call with Callburner loaded and activated, I cannot get
any tone activity on a certain call and the numbers do not activate or do
what the choice asks for; however, once CallBurner is turned off, all phone
tones are available and work. I generally have to redo the settings, but
they only work for one session and then go back to acting strangely. If I
don't load callburner, then there is no problem with tones or activation of
numbers or selections.

Several or many visually impaired users have spoken of the same problem as
stated above. CallBurner is a good program and we enjoy using it. I hope
you can assist me in clearing up the problems outlined above. This, as I
mentioned above, only seems to be a problem with Skype Version 3.6.

thanks for your quick response to this question,

James Robinson

Well yes you could use that but if you are on a tight budget or if you really
don't want to sound professional or if you want to
go portible and use it on skype or to record scratch tracks or ...
lol!

I like my usb micflex or what ever it is called. it does what I want it to and
is good for podcasting to. Both suggestiosn are
good. you could do the condenser mic when you are ready and more comfortable
with recording.

Good luck.

Or, better yet, you can use an actual large diaphragm condenser mic, which
is the type that studios use, that is geared for recording to computer.
Check this out, this podcast is a demo of two different ones.

Hello. You cn use a flexmic, or I think that's what it's called. it is a
USB mic that sounds very very clear and crisp to my ears
 anyways.

 Hello folks,
I know just about nothing about recording equipment, mics, mixers and so
 on.
But I'd like to produce a better then good quality recording. I just have
cheapo mics now, a twenty buck headphone mic combo and an eleven dollar
 computer mic.
What should I maybe start with? If I wanted to look for a used mic on ebay
or what have ya, what should I look for?
I remember a conversation about the imic a while ago, but I didn't really
understand what it exactly did. so, what can't I do without an imic?
Is that even what it's called?
 Thanks for any help,
 Jorge
