Thank Gary for replying! How do I query my computer to find out if my
computer has USB micro bluetooth adapters? And how do I go about pairing
them?

Many thanks! Vicky

Try one of the USB micro bluetooth adapters on your computer. If you can
make the hearing aides discoverable I would think that you could pair them
to the audio gateway of the computer.

Hi folks, I have just recieved a new set of bluetooth hearing aids that
are working wonderfully for me. I have my computer sound hooked up to
come through my stereo reciever. It would be even better if instead of
listening to the speakers, if I could have the sound directed to my
hearing aids.

I don't know if there is such a thing as a bluetooth stereo receiver or
if some kind of adapter would work for me?

Do any of you have any suggestions for me?

I would be ever so grateful for any help!

You need Witopia, I use them all the time for their
VPN services, choose the server you want to match the radio station or tv
station you're listening to and away you go.

Hi all

This is a very strange situation.

Within Mapler, I could listen to bbc 5 live sport to the 6 nations rugby
union matches without any problems. Now suddenly when I try to do the

I am told by a recorded voice that the material is not available for my
country.

Very strange! Can someone help here?

Re: Users of iTunes for Windows

2012-03-11 Thread vrvaughan

When you say, "Air play", are you asking about the radio?
Try either down arrowing past Podcasts and Ringtones to get to Radio and
there press Enter.
Now, arrow down the list of station catagories and when you hear one that
you would like to check out, press the Right Arrow , to open it and then
down arrow to see what is there.

When you find a station you want, just press Enter, to start it playing.
You can always pause it, if you don't like it and continue going down the
list to try others.

Hope that helps! Vicky

Hi!

Just wondering if anyone who uses iTunes for Windows can tell me where the
"Airplay" button is on the screen or how to make it visible? This is my
only problem with iTunes for Windows thus far, very impressed with the way
it works with Windows Screen Reading technology now.

Losing place in Songs list within the iTunes store

2012-02-28 Thread vrvaughan
All of a sudden I find that when I am in the iTunes store Song list and I make
a purchase, I am returned to the Home Page, rather than keeping the focus in
the Song list, so I can continue seeing what is available and buying some of
them. It is a really big pain to be forced to reinput the name of the artest
and go through all the steps to get back to the Song list, let alone going back
down it to find where I left off, so I can proceed to the next song choice.

Any help will be gratefully received! Vicky

iTunes and Track order

I don't want to be forced to make a play list for every album.
Is there any setting, I can use, to have an album or CD play in track order?

Only the VideoPro edition allows you to record either or both audio
and/or video. You can try one or the other so there is nothing to
lose. The only limitation is either a noise will be inserted into each
new recording about every sixty seconds or, if recording video, a
special logo is inserted into a frame, something like that anyway.
Otherwise it is fully functional and does not expire in any way.

I would like something that would let me name each video and then,

I wish Windows Media center would let me do this, because I really

Yeah, this right. You need a TV toner that you can put the Comcast card
into. I forgot about this. But when I talked to them, they said it should
work just fine like it use to. Again, if you all want to go deeper, which
I

Mary,
In my previous post, I said that I didn't have any experience setting up
Media Center in Windows 7; now I do. Sighted assistance would
definitely

be preferred, but if none is available, I would suggest that the NVDA
screen reader would be the best choice for tackling the setup screens.
I
didn't get anything with Window-Eyes. the OCR in JAWS for Windows 13
did

give me some usable text, but having to Use OCR on every screen gets
rather tedious. NVDA seems to read the setup screens pretty well, but
you

do need to know how to get it to speak the necessary information.

Once set up, you can use your screen reader of choice to access the
Program Guide. I just press Spacebar to get a particular channel in the
Guide to play or pause. Page Up and Page Down can be used to change
channels.

I'm enjoying having TV on my computer. I'll have to check out the
recording features next.

Mary,
In my previous post, I said that I didn't have any experience setting up
Media Center in Windows 7; now I do. Sighted assistance would definitely
be preferred, but if none is available, I would suggest that the NVDA
screen reader would be the best choice for tackling the setup screens. I
didn't get anything with Window-Eyes. the OCR in JAWS for Windows 13 did
give me some usable text, but having to Use OCR on every screen gets
rather tedious. NVDA seems to read the setup screens pretty well, but you
do need to know how to get it to speak the necessary information.

2011-12-10 Thread vrvaughan
I used Comcast and WMC and was able to change channels on my computer
keyboard. I had an IR device that plugged into the cable box that provided
the comunication between it and my computer.

I expect to set up my Windows 7 computer the same way. If there are any
differences, I'll tell the list.

I'm not sure, but see the thing is well at least with Comcast is that they
take over the TV. Here is what I really have to find out, well, any of us
that use Comcast do any ways if we want to use WMC. Actually, this would
even apply even to TV speak. Yeah, because even the little basicable box
that they give you for basic channals that looks like an ice creem
sandwitch

does it too. Is using WMC with their survice even doable at all? See, you
must keep the TV or in this case WMC on channel 4. Or as far as WMC goes
at
least in theory you would, and there fore only the box changes channel.
Let
me make this cympler now that I think about it. You know what this is
like?

It's like when you use to use a VCR. But now imagine it taking over
everything. So sorry to get long winded, but here is the end result. I
guess, you could watch TV theoretically, but how do you tell WMC which
channel to record from should you want to record? Because you see you must
keep it on channel 4, if you change it, you get nothing. You must change
channals with the box, and only the box. At least, that's how it works
with
TVs anyways. So, I don't know. Like I said, I mean to call and ask them
when

I'm about to get a new PC whin Windows 8 comes out. Or do any of you that
may also use Comcast want to volunteer? If so, thanks in advance.

use the computers keyboard to control the box using the devices that
bounces

their signal?
I mean is my idea so far out there or does something ixist?

Hi. Oh boy sounds like a pain in the you know what. Anyway u might try
googling something like comcast and windows media center. You will see
older posts but if u know when they started this new thing there will
probably be some forums that discuss somewhere out there.
Good luck and if i here anything about it I will pass it along. Like i
said i'm using at&t and since the you-verse signal comes through
ethernet there is know way to get it to work with the pc.

Ah okay then. Just wandered is all. Yeah like I said before, I'm
going to have to ask Comcast if this will work with them any more
since you don't really control the TV any more. You put the TV on
channel 4, then you have to call them and program it with the box and
you control everything from the box's remote supposedly. It doesn't
always really work though.

you could import the files into itunes, then download a program that would
normalize the audio tracks, theres a program i think called mp3norm, it
will normalize all mp3 files to level out highs and lows so things play
smoother.

Hi,

are you using your computer, and if so are you using winamp? If so,
there are plugins that will level things out. There's rocksteady,
audiostalker, and the thomson limiter, which is one that I like
personally.

Hi, I have a wonderful CD called The Many Moods of Christmas. The
problem I have with it, is if you have the volume up enough to hear the
quiet parts, you are then absolutely blasted, when suddenly, it shifts
and becomes very loud!

Does anyone have any suggestions?

I thought may be I could put each track into iTunes as a play list and
then apply the equalizer? Do you think that might work?

Many thanks for any suggestions! Vicky

When I had my XP, with USB TV tuner card, and was using Windows Media
Center, I could either use Page up to go up a channel number or Page down to
go down a number. I also could just type in the number to go to it directly.

I am hoping that windows 7, will be as easy to use.

Are you changing topics because I don't understand the question. With a
TV tuner card connected to your PC, you would change channels using some
media software on your PC. I think Windows Meda Center has been
mentioned on this list, but there are other options, such as Beyond TV.
I'm not sure anymore what the accessible options are.

I'm not sure what the options are with respect to controlling your set
top box, satellite box or cable box from your PC.

Interesting, David, and thanks for the info on the Code Factory
product. I'd like to find something that works with a screen reader
rather than having to buy a separate application just to get tv
access,

but it is worth looking into, I suppose.

People keep telling me it's easy. The only hard thing I here is the set

I want to do this too with either a XPS laptop, or a XPS desktop. I want

it off list at hamitcam...@gmail.com when you get it. So any ways, Larry
Scutchan did some Media Center pod casts on www.blindcooltech.com in 2006.
Now this does mean that it'll be Windows XP, but I should think that the
process of watching TV with Media Center should be some what the same. At
least from what I here it is any ways. The only problem will be if you're
using Comcast because of the way they do things. But we can talk more of
this off list if you want, but this is one of the things I have to find
out.
