Golden ear Version 1.0 Build 97 is Available

2007-01-17 Thread Steve Pattison
Golden Ear version 1.0 build 97 has recently been released and can be
downloaded from http://brooklynnorth.com. Golden Ear is a very
accessible, free program that allows you to download podcasts or
listen to podcasts without downloading them. The main enhancements
in this build appear to be 30 additional podcasts as well as 56 radio
stations added to Golden ear. This program works well with
Window-eyes and should work fairly well with other screen readers as well.

Problem with Golden Ear and Blind Cool Tech Podcast

2006-11-26 Thread Steve Pattison
I use Golden Ear available from http://brooklynnorth.com to listen to
podcasts. Lately I've had a problem with the Blindcooltech
podcast. When I list the podcasts available on the Blindcooltech
home page using Golden Ear only 40 podcasts are listed. However when
I go to the Blindcooltech home page at www.blindcooltech.com there
are a lot more than 40 files available to download. The podcast feed
I'm using for blindcooltech is
http://www.blindcooltech.com/bct.xml. I've uninstalled Golden Ear
and then installed it again but this didn't fix this problem. If
anyone has a solution to this problem any information would be
appreciated. thanks in advance.

You could probably put a shortcut to Golden Ear on your desktop.

I'll try to answer your questions by inserting my answers between
each of your questions which I've included below. -Steve.

No. About the only documentation currently available for Golden Ear
is what is on the Golden Ear home page at http://brooklynnorth.com/

2 Can I donload podcasts for future use?
Yes you can either download podcasts or listen to them without
downloading them. Most of the options you need are on the file menu
or available through various buttons in Golden Ear.

3 are there Jaws scripts available?
Not to my knowledge but Golden Ear mainly uses standard Windows
controls so you may not need scripts. I've only tried Golden Ear
using Window-Eyes and I find it very accessible.

4 How can I add new feeds?
There is an option to do this on the file menu.

I just discovered a great podcatcher, which works like Winamp's
Shoutcast wire, but is easier to use. With Golden Ear, it's very simple
to just listen to podcasts instead of having to download them. The
program is free:
