Re: How many megs?

2005-08-06 Thread James Dean
Select the folders you want to find out about with either ctrl down arrow if
the folders are not right together and hit space to check the ones you want
or if they are right together just use shift down arrow until you get to the
end of what you want. Then let up on these keys and fairly quikly press
alt+enter. then root JAWS to PC, hit ctrl+home, then arrow down through it
and ti'll tell you the size of all the collective folders...

Hi, Steve! Thanks for that. I know how to find out how many megs is in
each folder; I was hoping there might be a way to find out how many megs
would be in several folders added together so I wouldn't have to do the
math
before attempting to burn them on a CD. Maybe there's no way to do that?

kathy:

if you make a folder with the mp3 files in it on windows ecxplorer then you can
go to the properties of this folder with the application key and then it will
tell you there all the information of the folder including the overall size of
the mp3's. hope this helps. stephen

Second, I have a question which may be inappropriate for this list, so
please forgive me if it is. I want to burn a bunch of my mp3 music files
onto a disk as data; I'm using Windows XP and Jaws 5 point something or
other. How can I tell how many mb's I've copied onto the disk I'm going to
burn? Besides adding up all the mb's on each folder I intend to copy, is
there a way I can find out the total number of mb's so I don't get that
annoying message that tells me I have to take some files off my disk before
it can be burned? Hope this is appropriate and makes sense!

Thanks much!

How many megs?

2005-07-20 Thread virtualknight

Hi Kathy

After you select the files and folders that you want to put on your disk.
Then you hold the Alt key +return or enter Key to get the properties of the
files and folders that you have selected. Once you hit the alt key + return
key, you use INSERT key + JAWS key to look at the size of the selected files
and folders by using your up arrow key.
