Re: Making Simple Programmes for Podcasts

2007-08-20 Thread G. McFarlane
Thanks Chris. You've hit the nail on the head. The only other slight
difficulty I foresee is that I need to mix the mike and the music on the
computer and therefore need a program which allows this by using the
keyboard so that levels cna be manually raised and increased.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hi. So to put this very basically and to the point, what you want to
do is record yourself and music at the same time, but not software
speech, correct? That's how I understood it. Getting a second sound
card solves this problem, you can set it up so that your
screenreader, doesn't matter which one it is, can come through one
sound card, and your music and your mic will go through the
other. You just need to make sure that the listener hears the
correct sound card, but that's easily done. You might try an
external sound card that can be used through your USB port. That
 usually works well.
 Hope that helps a bit.

I think I'm looking for some kind of mixer within the computer which

Re: Making Simple Programmes for Podcasts

2007-08-20 Thread G. McFarlane
Hi Sarah
I use both but perhaps see wrongly that they only alter volume after
recording have taken place. In a sense I'm looking to alter the volumes as I
go along providing a good mix which can be recorded at the same time.
If I can do this in 'live' mode can you please give me more details. I tend
to use Audition mainly in a post production mode and therefore have little
idea about live recording with it. Which version of Audition do you use and
are you using the Jaws scripts?
Thanks again for your response.

Hi Dean
It's more the fact that when you are recording on the computer it can also
record the Jaws, although I take the point about using headphones. I think
I'll have to use 2 soundcards, one specifically for Jaws.
Thanks for your response.
