Windows mixer is the standard windows volume control, sndvol32. It should be on your system tray and can be found in programs/accessories/entertainment. The Creative Audio console didn't have tone controls for my card. Hi speaking of the sound blaster XFI sound cards. Where can you get one and witch of them is the best to get? I would like to get one for when I get a new computer cause I heard those are a grate card for people that love to play music on there systems. So any and all assistance is welcome with this. the best one i know of that works great for music is the creative sound blaster x-fi extream audio I own this card and there is none that can compair in the x-fi series then this one. Well there seems to be an inaccessible volume panel and I have to guess that's where any of the controls I want are. All I get is something that says entertainment mode and if I go through it with the jaws curser there appear to be settings but no way to access. Just to be clear. Do you have advanced controls checked in volume control? Sorry I came in a bit late. Under the options menu is a toggle for advanced controls. Then on the master volume settings an advance option button will appear. Alot of times you can access the bass and treble slide controls there. Ok so maybe i should start reading threads backwards. In the creative labs programs ther should be the EAX control pannel. I believe it still exists anyway. There EQ setting in there and it should be somewhat accessible with jfw. I don't get a choice of playback; I am in the audio tab and my choices include, a listing of my two sound cards, volume button then listing of the default card for several things. Admittedly, I'm rather disheartened because I actually have less control over the playback of this sound card than I did my Realtech. My older Creative card didn't have that option till I rebuilt my system. Then all of a sudden, I had tone controls under the advanced button in the mixer. Before that, I had to mss around with the Creative Surround mixer, locking the Jaws cursor at just the right place and using Jaws mouse up and down key strokes to get the tone controls to work. I hope your X-FI installer put in standard tone controls under advanced controls in the Windows mixer.
