RE: Recording on an ASUS Eee 1000H

2008-12-19 Thread David Truong
Hi Barry,

I suggest getting yourself a Griffin iMic and a link where you can find out
more info and buy it in Australia is from:
http://zytech.com.au/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PRODStore_Code=ZOSFAFMDS
Product_Code=iPGRMIC

This USB sound card is very small, needs no drivers and is a good solution
for computers that don't have line-in etc.

Thanks John. Can you or anyone suggest a fairly good quality USB sound card
with line in and line/headphone out which works well
with JAWS, is fairly small and preferably is powered from a single USB port.

Thanks,
Barry

Hello Barry,
You had it right the first time, you will need a USB sound card with a line
in jack.
Trying to run a line out in to a mike in as you discovered, just will not
work.
My best regards!
  John.

I am wanting to record from the line output of an amplifier onto my ASUS
Eee 1000H notebook. The notebook only has a microphone in
socket, so if I use a standard lead, it overloads. I have only tried it
with Sound Recorder so far, but will install other
recording software if I can fix the input problem.

Does anyone know where I can get a resistance lead which drops the output
level to that suitable to connect to a microphone input?
I have tried the equivalent of Radio Shack here in Australia, but without
success so far. If I can't get a lead, perhaps I can
purchase a USB sound card with line in.

Has anyone tried recording on an ASUS Eee 100h with Sound Forge or
Goldwave, and if so, were you successful?

 Thanks,
 Barry Chapman
