RE: Using a Bluetooth earpiece as a general PC headset
David, I'm behind on my messages, so sorry if this has already been covered. Yes, there are a couple ways you could do this. I use the Plantronics Pulsar 590A, which is an over-the-head stereo headset costing about 100 bucks that comes with a universal adapter that hooks into any non-Blue Tooth capable device that has a 3.5 mm headphone jack. I might do a podcast on this headset because I really like it, and they may even have models that are not over the head. The Pulsar 590A also comes with a USB cable and an in-flight cable. The cool thing about the universal adapter is that, aside from using the headset with your cell phone, you can essentially use it with any device that is not Blue Tooth capable but that has a 3.5 mm jack. Is your computer Blue Tooth capable? If not, I think they have something called a USB Bluetooth adapter or Blue Tooth dongle that you can hook to your PC to give it Blue Tooth capability. I don't know much about these, but I do know a lot about the Pulsar and I really like it. from -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of David Edick Sent: Monday, February 23, 2009 12:22 AM To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' Subject: Using a Bluetooth earpiece as a general PC headset Hello list, Is it possible to use a Bluetooth earpiece as a PC headset? Re: Using a Bluetooth earpiece as a general PC headset
Hi, I'd like to be able to have headphones that are not directly connected to my TripleTalk speech synthesizer, but I often need to handle protected material at work and I can't be broadcasting that info if anyone with a similar receiver can pick it up. Is there a technology that can do this broadcasting with encryption so that only my receiver can decode it? Re: Using a Bluetooth earpiece as a general PC headset
Hi David, Such a bluetooth device will work for the PC. However, if your PC is not bluetooth-enabled (like mine) you will also have to purchase the bluetooth transmitter. I got my headset, which is just a single earpiece w/mic at Radio Shack on sale for about $20 and I got the transmitter at Best Buy for I think $40. I had to have a little sighted help setting up the software as the initial screen wasn't accessible but it was ok after getting past that. RE: Using a Bluetooth earpiece as a general PC headset
Hello Normaand list, My laptop has built in Bluetooth, and I bought a kensington Bluetooth device from circuit city for $15, MSRP $40. I can pair the headset with either system. What other software do I need to get my audio to work through Bluetooth?
