Re: Utorrent
Once you use your browser to load torrents into uTorrent and start your torrent downloads, using uTorrent is pretty straightforward. You can tab around the main menu until you get to the list of torrents you're downloading. There is a combo box where you can restrict the view, but I just usually leave it to all. You can arrow up and down the list of downloads, and I use shift-F10 to bring up the context menu for each item. The options in the context menu are pretty self explanatory. I hope this helps. You might want to download the torrent file by right clicking it and saving it. when you open it, a torrent can be deleted as the browser removes older materials. I use free download manger which will save the torrents and actually handles torrents as well as an added bonus, but I prefer utorrent. I'm using the latest version of uTorrent with JFW, and I never noticed that I got less information as I moved from release to release. I'm curious, what are you missing in the newer versions of uTorrent? It's probably that I just know as much about uTorrent as I need to download the occasional torrent, so I'm not noticing the features you're looking for. stewart ross wrote: hi does anyone no where u can get older vertions of utorrent from i am running the latest vertion but i don't find that it gives as much information with jaws from stewart tune in to http://laserhothits.servemp3.com:8130/listen.pls email stewartr...@sky.com msn stewart-r...@hotmail.co.uk skype stewartross - Original Message - From: nick danger danger...@verizon.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Wednesday, December 31, 2008 8:33 PM Subject: Re: utorrent, need help getting started Hi don, in order to download torrents check out torrent sites like B T junkie.com, or mininova.oerg or you can do a google search on them. Re: gotta utorrent question
a lot of times, if you lower the max upload rate that will fix the problem. If you're using all of your upload speed, your download speed will be effected. so a good idea is to set your upload speed to about 90 percent of what it can do. that's what I do with my ftp server, soulseek etc. Rick aim rclaypo skype lord_of_beer - Original Message - From: Steve Matzura [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Sunday, July 29, 2007 12:31 PM Subject: Re: gotta utorrent question On Sun, 29 Jul 2007 10:39:26 -0400, you wrote: Unfortunately, I still am having connection troubles with mutorrent. what settings do I have to adjust to keep my connection from slowing down to a crawl when using it? What do I have to do in utorrent to make the speeds stay at the proper setting without slowing everything down to a crawl? This is typical Bit Torrent behavior. The idea is, you get a trickle download, but from many sources simultaneously. It sounds like whatever you are downloading, there aren't too many sources for it. Bit Torrent works on the one-to-many peer-to-peer system, the more clients, the merrier. There's nothing to adjust. It's supposed to be that way. Really. The thing is, you can be downloading from 20, 30 sources at a time, each one at a trickle, like I said originally. That's really the way it's supposed to work. You know, like the Federal government--it takes just a little from everybody and winds up with a lot grin. Re: gotta utorrent question
Hello, You may have issues with your routers firewall Check your utorrent prefferences for something called speed test. It checks to see whether the port that utorrent uses is open or blocked. For security, many routers have a firewall that blocks file sharing and gameing programs. This is in addition to Windows Firewall or programs like Zone Alarm which are computer based. More info can be found in the Utorrent help which is accessible. HTH. Re: utorrent.
Hi Simon Any chance of getting a copy of your new tutorial please. Since getting a Belkin Broadband Wireless Router last Christmas, I have been virtually unable to download music using WINMX. Any advise you could offer would be very appreciated as I very much miss downloading music. Thanks. Best wishes.
