Re: Rockbox Questions
Thanks...I'll check that out. What's its capacity? Like I was saying, I was planning to go with the iPod because it's the only one with that large a hard-drive onboard, and I need something that will hold tons of music. In my MP3CD library alone, I have about 13,000 tracks, plus just over a thousand regular CDs...So, lots of tunes. Are you interested in a more healthy, environmentally friendly home? Okay, I have some questions about Rockbox that I didn't see answered/asked in my search of the archives. With tax time coming up, since my birthday falls shortly after we get our refund, I'm thinking of trying to convince my wife to get me an iPod. First, I see from looking at Rockbox's site that it does work with the 60-gig iPod, but not the 80GB yet. Anyone know if the developers plan to make Rockbox useable with the 80-gig? Yes, I know 60 should be enough, but I have a HUGE music collection. :-) Second, I know there are other MP3 players out there, but is there one with which Rockbox will work that has the storage capacity of the 60GB iPod? Any plans to make it work with Zune? Finally, since they can apparently be played on the iPod, will Rockbox work with content purchased from Audible.com? Okay, one more question, actually...Who IS the developer of Rockbox? Is it a blind/VI person? I ask because I'd assume it is because let's face it, many sighted people don't think to include speech capabilities in their software...But at the same time, in looking at rockbox.org, it looks like it offers some great things for the sighted users as well...Just curious. rockbox questions
Hi all! I have some questions about the rockbox firmware. I'm getting an archos on Saturday and I want to have all of the facts straight. What are the advantages of using the rockbox firmware as opposed to the firmware that comes with the machine? What makes the Archos accessible? Can I buy the Archos with rockbox already installed? If not, is it easy to install? Thanks! Allison ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: rockbox questions
Okay, first of all don't install the firm wear on the archos that comes w/ the unit, that's not acessible. Rockbox isv very accessible, I've used my player w/ it and w/o it. Its easy to install. If you go to their web site there is a FAQ for blind users. I have the Archos studio 20 recorder. - Original Message - From: Allison Mervis [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list.
