Re: transfering from cassettes
Hi! Or the revox b710 i think its called. Which has direct driven motors. And optical sensors that tells when the tape is at the end and reversers it. /A 9 sep 2013 kl. 02:37 skrev Colin Howard : > Greetings, > > If you can get hold of one, very very dificult now to obtain, I suggest the > Nakamichi 680ZX, this is a dual-speed, three-head, plus/minus 6% speed > playback, very very accurate allignment and assymuth control, machine is > built like a battleship, has RCA. inputs and outputs and a DIN 7-pin socket, > the purpose of which I have never discerned but presume it is some kind of > in/out device. > > Note: this machine was discontinued by Nakamichi I believe in about 1983 due > to rights issues hence it's difficulty in finding. > > Needless to say, I have one, purchased second-hand some fifteen years ago. > > The machine's speed even at 4.75CM/PS is very very good, it also handles > metal, chrome and feric tapes, by adjusting the settings, it can be made to > play tapes most others will not make any sense of. > > the wind is very fast, but it treats tapes with care. Re: transfering from cassettes
Greetings, If you can get hold of one, very very dificult now to obtain, I suggest the Nakamichi 680ZX, this is a dual-speed, three-head, plus/minus 6% speed playback, very very accurate allignment and assymuth control, machine is built like a battleship, has RCA. inputs and outputs and a DIN 7-pin socket, the purpose of which I have never discerned but presume it is some kind of in/out device. Note: this machine was discontinued by Nakamichi I believe in about 1983 due to rights issues hence it's difficulty in finding. Needless to say, I have one, purchased second-hand some fifteen years ago. The machine's speed even at 4.75CM/PS is very very good, it also handles metal, chrome and feric tapes, by adjusting the settings, it can be made to play tapes most others will not make any sense of. the wind is very fast, but it treats tapes with care. I have used C180 cassettes on this machine and it handles them no problem. I no longer have any of these, but plenty of c120 tapes and rarely have any problems with this machine. I'm aware of that. But some of them actually have a control you're able to turn without a driver. - Original Message - From: "stewart ross" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Sunday, September 08, 2013 3:14 PM Subject: Re: transfering from cassettes hi there most tape machines come with an azimuth adjustment control. its normally a screw in the front of the machine from stew - Original Message - From: "Byron Stephens" To: "PC Audio Discussion List" Sent: Sunday, September 08, 2013 5:52 PM Subject: Re: transfering from cassettes I really do need to get my tapes transfered, but I'd need to find a unit with an azimuth adjustment control. - Original Message - From: To: Sent: Sunday, September 08, 2013 9:45 AM Subject: Re: transfering from cassettes Sorry it took so long to get back; but the device I use is sold through Fry's Electronics. Re: transfering from cassettes
Around 3/4 years ago I transferred both mine and my wife's CD collection to external hard drives. Certainly not as high tech as are being discussed here. I purchased a Magix Audio Cleaning Lab program very cheaply for, in your currency, around $15 and connected an ordinary CD player via the headphones socket to my soundcard and spent weeks slowly working through the pile of almost a thousand cassettes. I had the player and also the 3.5 mm male to male audio cable so my total outlay was minimal. I didn't know about Audicity then so could have saved that modest outlay if I'd heard of it. I get the impression some people seem to look for the complicated way rather than the simple one. Usually ends up saving cash. Re: transfering from cassettes
I'll have to wait until my wife gets home before reading the name or brand. But it is not sold as a recorder in itself. The unit is designed and sold as a casset transfer item. It is a standard item but not every store carries them. Sorry, but if you inquire at any larger electronic stores as to this type of machine you should get a name. That is all i know for nowsorry!
