The part I'm having trouble with is getting the output from [fft~]. In

 coming from the [fft~] object.

I think I know how to manipulate the list once I have it, so that part
isn't a problem. I just want something that I can [bang( every once in

i guess [tabwrite~] is you friend here.

there are several ways to dump a table to get the list.

[dumpOSC] seems to require a port argument, otherwise it will not be

Also, if you try to create a second instance of [dumpOSC] with the
same port as an existing instance, the new instance will not be
 created.

this is a canned response:
please do not use the old OSCx externals (including [dumpOSC]) as they
are known to be broken and only in Pd-extended for legacy reasons.
try mrpeach's [udpreceive]+[unpackOSC] instead which is likely to make

sure ;)

also guys, .. there is the wiki page on puredata.info,
may be add something to it.
i have said there that i got a 14channel AH mixer +some cables.
i think i can sort out some other audio equipment (gat some speakers and mics
of a my mates).. it's easy if we do it at my place but otherwise i'll need to
get transport (to bring speakers, but the mixer fits in my bag).
If we can get some money, then i can get a bigger PA with subs
(so we could actually here how our stuff sounds on them big subs!)
i personaly 'd love to do that actually!
i worked at pa compony wherehouse, but there people would bother if
someone make noise ..
;) but the loudness could be an issue here (well our squat could be
fine, but i cannot say for sure right now) .. and may be we should
stick to a basic mackie speaker option then.

what else do we need?
screens and projectors?
i've got some CRT monitors and a few LCD ones ..
good network swithces are also avaliable.
with some cat5 cables

just make sure your table is big enough to fit the whole FFT vector. and
send a 1 to the spigotswitch to write the table.

then, as iohannes said, there are a few different ways to get tables into
lists.

[PD] [PD-announce] Next we take Berlin: RjDj sprints again on Dec 12-14

2008-11-19 Thread Frank Barknecht
Hi all,

December is the time for the next RjDj sprint: The Reality Jockeys
would like to invite you to the Scene composing session on 12-14
December 2008 in Berlin at this nice location:

moviepilot
Bluecherstraße 22
10961 Berlin (Kreuzberg)

The action starts on Friday, 12.12. at 12 am and spans the whole
weekend. We'll post further details/timetable etc. briefly before the
actual sprint happens.

What is a RjDj sprint?
--

RjDj sprints bring together musicians and artists interested in
working on reactive, algorithmic music (Scenes) for mobile devices
and do other mad things with sound. Currently supported devices are
the iPhone and in an yet unreleased version the iPod Touch.

The goal is to create, test and enjoy many new scenes for the RjDj
application. We know that many musisicans don't have iPhones, so we
will provide some devices for development during the sprint. Prior
sprints happened in Bizau, Barcelona and Vienna. Check out
http://rjdj.me/sprints to see how much fun we generally spread!

Attending the sprint is free, but we kindly ask you to register on our
website: http://rjdj.me or via [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Please forward this invitation to anyone you think might be
interested.

Keep it real,

[PD] iChat / SMS - PD

2008-11-19 Thread mark edward grimm
Hello,

Might there be a method for sending iChat/SMS messages to pd? I see some
experiments but nothing is clear. iChat can send and receive SMS so I would
just use it as my gateway to PD. I saw a post on Jabber-PD which seems to be a
solution but I have been unable to locate the original thread or example
patch...

Thanks
