RE: Lightroom interruptus
Just a suggestion - rather than trying to complete the catalog import, maybe try the following steps: a. copy the remaining image files to where you want them to be. (via OS, not LR) b. In LR, import from disc. c. Then import from catalog (or catalogue depending on your flavour of LR), but choose to not reimport any images. I.e., split the copy, import-images-into-catalog, and catalog-info-import into three steps. yes, I think that's what I'm going to have to do. I can't see Adobe's reasoning behind the way it works at the moment - I suspect someone's got their analysis wrong. RE: Lightroom interruptus
yes no. Yes in as much as I've given up with direct ethernet. No in that Lightroom won't play ball after interrupting the import. Now when I try to import the remainder of the catalogue it doesn't give me the choice of moving the files to a new location - it insists that they remain in situ. Lovely, can you start from scratch again after the copius interruptus? I just love well behaved software. I think it's probably behaving to spec, but the spec is wrong. Oh, yeah, there's this other little thing that is happening, nothing all that special except that .. I AM COMING TO VANCOUVER!! Have no idea of the details yet, but I will be there to shoot a range of kids active wear called Agoo. I have been shooting for them for about 6 months now but they've decided that they want me there rather then them send the stuff to me this time. I secretly think it's because they want to use their own kids for the models, lol.! Anyways, that's about my news in a nutshell, pretty cool huh?!? And I'll bet that at least one of you thought I was going to say that I was pregnant again! Heehee! Btw, do you realise how much you lot prattle on?!? Re: Re: What to charge to photograph a party?
I charge 400 Dkr/hour - eq. to 66 USD/hour, when working (semi)professionally. For both photographing and editing. In fact I almost double my noramal hourly salery, because I use my own equipmenet (camera eq., computer etc.) as well as my private car. The photographers I know tell me it's not enough. To actually run a business, I'd have to charge (under Danish conditions) at least 100 USD/hour. I guess it's also a question of guessing how much they want to spend, and then work accordingly. Spent the day putting more RAM into my computer, gave it a 64gb SSD for C (seems to work, and quickly), and Windows 7/64. I'm hoping that little drive will be big enough, I never used more than 40 on my XP machine. Anyway, this is a test of sorts. wr -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Congratulations on your 26th anniversary. You must have a very patient and forgiving wife. On Saturday we will celebrate our 45th anniversary. That fulfills the requirements for my wife to be canonized. Dan On Thu, May 27, 2010 at 3:49 PM, William Robb war...@gmail.com wrote: Damned Microsoft put put Lookout Express out to pasture.
