Ricoh taking aim at GoPro with WG-4 accessories, and I think that's good for us, too.
With all the talk about the WG line switching from Pentax to Ricoh branding, you may have missed their announcement of four mounting options for the WG-4 and older WG models: Mounts: http://www.pentaxforums.com/accessoryreviews/ricoh-pentax-wg-camera-mounting-accessories.html Chest Strap: http://www.us.ricoh-imaging.com/accessories/Sport_Mount_Chest_Harness Although I'm not really the type who'd use a GoPro, I'm glad to see Ricoh taking a step towards marketing to those kinds of people, and I think it's another indication that Pentax is in pretty good hands. Ricoh's taking this stuff seriously, and that seems to be translating across all of the products they acquired from Hoya. I'm beginning to think that, even if they someday rebrand their SLRs as Ricoh cameras, I wouldn't mind too much. That said, I've got a WG-3 but I don't think I do anything interesting enough to buy one of these mounts myself. It's cool that they're out there, though. It's really cool to see that creativity come out. The Pentax WG- series might be a good camera to consider. FS Friday, 24 iMac
I had planned to keep it for displaying photos at parties, using as an iTunes server etc. but since I'm unemployed, there are other things that I need more than it (such as a laptop with USB3 that I can run LR on). It is an iMac 7.1 2.4 GHz core 2 duo, 6 GB ram, 320 GB hard drive. The superdrive has gone a bit flaky. I was hoping it would be worth more, but looking on craigslist, they seem to be going for about $450. It has a great display, and if you don't process as many photos at a time as I do (or you put an SSD in it), it'd be great for processing photos. -- Larry Colen l...@red4est.com http://red4est.com/lrc -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

A small epiphany...
Straightening up my workshop this weekend I saw these three boxes http://www.flickr.com/photos/pixelsmithy/12376451995/ and was struck by the sudden epiphany that virtually ALL of my favorite images were produced with one of these three lenses. As a Pentax DSLR owner I have, admittedly, not owned any of the proverbial really good Pentax AF glass but I am more than pleased with these three lenses. Only the 28mm f1.8 was purchased new (for $399 from a retailer selling on eBay). The 10-20mm was found on Craigslist for $350 and the Bigma was purchased from a PDML-er who was switching to Nikon NEX. All 3 are superb performers, IMHO. With the proviso that owner satisfaction is better with the 28mm f1.8 than its wider focal length siblings, I can heartily recommend the Sigma EX series to my Pentax-shooting brethren. -- Photographers must learn not to be ashamed to have their photographs look like photographs. ~ Alfred Stieglitz -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: zx/mz question
I've still got an MZ-S, a PZ-1p, and two MXes (one that I bought in 1976, and a black one I picked up ten years or so ago just in case, as it was getting hard to find places that worked on a MX). Those are the bodies that I believe to be in working condition. I've also got an ME, ME Super, and Super Program which will never get used; they're just to remind me of the K-mount Pentaxes I had. I suspect that if I do ever shoot film again (and I do have some Royal Gold 25 lurking in the freezer ...) it will be in a MX. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
