Funny thing is, we are getting similar weather here and are thinking how lucky we are for the mild weather. It's snowing in Raleigh
Forecast is for 1 - 3 inches with temperatures falling into the low 20s (F). I had to go out earlier to walk the doggy. It's very wet snow, getting slushy underfoot on the sidewalks & on the streets, but if it gets as cold as they say it will it's gonna' freeze. Temperature is right at freezing now, but with an 8 mph wind out of the North Northeast the "wind chill" is already down to 26° (F). Will be down to where it feels like the low teens by morning when I have to take the dog out again. I've got YakTrax to go on my Vasque hiking boots in the morning, so I should be fine. https://www.rei.com/product/760280/yaktrax-walkers-traction-system https://www.vasque.com/mens-hiking-footwear/breeze-iii-gtx-07190.html?cgid=mens I'm fairly snug. Got plenty of firewood under cover on the front porch to fuel the wood-stove. Got an electric blanket & a down comforter and if the power goes out I can slip my little "organic heater" under the blankets. I even have a generator to power my Mr. Coffee. Bought a gas stove today to be delivered in a couple of weeks. I've got sense enough not to drive in this crap if I don't have to and I try to stay prepared so I won't have to. Only downside so far is I just learned "unsalted, organic, free-range chicken broth" makes a terrible tasting warm up beverage when you've just come in from the cold. I'll take a picture if it's still around in the morning when I finally go out. -- Science - Questions we may never find answers for. PESOs: Shooting the shooters
Every year for the last ten years or so, I’ve shot at least one round of a pool tournament sponsored by Adcraft, the local Advertising Biz Association. Prior to that I played for several years, but I was never very good and didn’t want to feel obligated to show up for each round. Back then I knew most of the participants. After so many years, I just know a handful, but they’re good friends and I enjoy shooting them. I don’t just shoot the action, but the spectators as well. All with the K-1 and the D FA 24-70/2.8. Most at f3.2, 1/60th, in TAV mode with ISOs ranging from 2500 to 10,000. The BW pics were shot on the sidelines where the light is deep red. My two favorites: https://www.photo.net/photo/18584992/6807 https://www.photo.net/photo/18585000/6830 The Gallery https://www.photo.net/gallery/1110350#//Sort-Newest/All-Categories/All-Time/Page-1 -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

I like that! :-) Don't know if I can manage it, but I'd love to go to Scotland again. It's been almost a a quarter century since my last visit to Edinburgh and I've not yet gotten to Glasgow. Re: Test II - Sending from Yahoo to see if it comes back to Road Runner
Neither Google nor Yahoo play well with others. There weren't any other messages in PDML for a while. Usually if the drought is not prolonged, I won't worry about it, but then I wasn't even getting "SPAM" in my regular (non-PDML) inbox (Amazon, Egghead, several photography sites who on rare occasions have news of interest). Based on my experience with my providers I thought I'd better check. Thank you and thanks to all the other PDML subscribers who provided feedback. I was going to mention the jury-rigged/jerry-rigged nature of my current email setup but I learned something interesting when I looked them up before writing. Jury-rigged and jerry-rigged are not quite the same thing. Jury-rigged is "something rigged up temporarily with materials on hand, often in an ingenious manner" (think MacGyver), while jerry-rigged has negative connotations of something poorly built (think Homer Simpson). Depending on health issues, I'd be more than happy to meet up - I'm located about 40 minutes away on the west coast. Although I've not been active on the list, I am possibly the longest known lurker.
