Re: OT Thumbnails and the Mac (Gaetan Beauchamp)
Hello everyone. I recently discover a fine program who can deal with K7 PEF file with no problem. There is a demo version for the Mac only, PC will be released next year. It is Atomicview: http://www.antzero.com/antweb/?lang=en&m=0&p=0 By the way, iPhoto recently made an error while importing my raw files (I don't know why) but it said that my files where taken by a K20D instead of the K-7. That'sthe way I understand that all my Raw thumbs (taken by my K7) where on the desktop with a clean image instead of the generic blank icon. I tried this morning to manually change the metadata but Photoshop did fail to open the file. I could furnish 2 files to compare if someone would like to investigate. I know that a future update of OS X Snow will solve that thumb's problem as it previously happen for the K20D. But for now, it's boring. PESO: A more format junco's story! ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
Hello everyone! For those who want to see a short story about juncos, here are some photos that I took at our country cottage. First, when my wife and I discover that those straw in our clothes pins bag where not there because of the wind but because a small bird was building a nest right there in our rear balcony, that was a great surprise! So I was enough lucky to capture all that story from the nest to the eggs, to small babies being fed, to more mature juncos. We even saw what was a small waiting before a first fly! Would it be a crash? Surely not but the fly was in a way very hesitant at the first movements of the wings. How they know doing all that? Nature is amazing and I am glad to have been a close spectator of all that evolution from the nest to the first fly! http://photo.net/photodb/folder?folder_id=824653 For all other photos on photo.net: flowers, children, hummingbirds, heron http://photo.net/photos/gaetanbeauchamp Comments are welcome and appreciated. Can't post to the list, take 2 ([EMAIL PROTECTED]).
Hello everyone! It seems that I cannot post an email to the list with 8 links in that message to photos on photo.net. There is something that I just don't understand. By the way, thank you for your help all (Mister Alling, Mister Brewer and Cotty; thank you all). After my successful email and your reply, I did try to send that email with 8 links in it but with no success. I think I did respect what all of you have said to me. You inform me that there is a 10 k limit for a message, that I have to change the subject, and not to copy all the digest in my message. But I did all this. I've tried before to send an email with only one link in it to a single photo on photo.net. But with no success. All my previous post with links in it to hummingbirds, to heron, to children (my wife' s grandchildren) were successful. What am I doing wrong now? Could it be my server and the changes that I made to my smtp parameter because I did change my location? Why I did send a copy of those messages to myself with no problem in receiving them? What's going on ? Need your help. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: PESO: My wife's grand-children, Lea-Mei and Mateo ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
Hello everybody! Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. Thanks Mister Paul Stenquist for your appreciation of the children's photo, the heron's photos and the lake's photo. Thanks to Mister Bill Lawlor. It seems that RA-4 color prints is not very usual these days. It's been very interesting to read about your experience Bill and one of these days I'll give a try to a good inkjet printer. I have a thermal-dye printer for now because I didn't want to be an inkjet cartridge buyer. I can do 20X24 on my CPP2, which is pretty big for me. I would like to do the same with an inkjet printer but it is pretty expensive. And what about a digital DeVere enlarger! That would be the summit but my wallet can't afford it. I do experience some problems with the correct filtration but it depends a lot of the paper used. I get satisfactory results with Crystal Archive Super C. Thanks to Mister J.P.Alling for his comment on the heron flying away from us. Thanks to Mister Sullivan for his comments on the children's photos. I did try to soften the background of the children's photo but with no success right now. I'll give it another try. Thanks to Mister William Robb for his comments on the heron and the lake. Perhaps the heron have been over-saturated indeed. I was experiencing with Raw file at that time and I didn't realize that it is advisable not to alter too much the file in sharpness which can alter the colour also. Thanks to Mister Kenneth Waller for the Pentax K20D slideshow possibilities. Thanks to Mister Jack Davis on the same subject and the comments on the hummingbird's photos. Thanks to Mister J.P.Alling. Pentax has indeed provide us with a silent movie camera reminding Chaplin and McClaren (The Neighbours). And finally, thanks to Mister Daniel J. Matyola for his suggestion to submit my children's photos to the April PUG on the theme Portraits, which I did. I don't know what they will do with it. Sorry everyone for this long answer. But all those comments are really appreciated. When you're alone in your basement making prints and you've got only one person to show the results of your works, it's a real pleasure to read some comments on your photos. By the way, I'll do a short exhibition of 11 photos May the first on the theme REEDS. What don't you come say goodbye in Abitibi, Quebec, Canada? Hello everybody! Just for fun! Here is a short slideshow made with a Pentax K20D in burst mode: 20 FPS for about 5 seconds which create 115 frames JPG. Exported in Adobe Lightroom as a slideshow (PDF). Opened in QuickTime and exported again for the web (can be viewed on a iPod Touch). Hello everyone! I did try to send a second hummingbird but with no success. So here it is. A very different picture than the first but taken with the same K10D with the same lens. But now I think I made a mistake about the lens. It was a Sigma 70-300 mm APO for Pentax and not a 100 mm macro like I said before. I should have that in Lightroom but I didn't find the information. Sorry. This picture was taken at our country cottage, Lake Vaudray, Quebec, Canada, at the balcony with those red flowers which act like a call for those birds. Some more coming.
