GESO (5): Palakkad

2023-02-19 Thread Subash Jeyan
In june last, i applied for working from home (with a reduction in pay) and
shifted to Palakkad in the southern state of Kerala and about 550 km from
Chennai/Madras since anyway i was due for retirement this december (60
being the retirement age in India). personally, i am glad i made the
switch, I should have made it earlier, but unfortunately it needed a
pandemic for people to realise that some jobs, especially desk jobs like
editing and news print production, can be perfectly carried on at home
provided you had a good internet connection...

to cut the rambling short, here is a GESO taken during my daily walks in
Palakkad (on different days in the past one week). the first four are with
the canon g3x and the last one with pentax k5iis/pentax 18-250mm:

the tokina was my lens. not anymore, not for the last one year or so

adit never takes it off when using the tokina. it has its downsides of

(mostly) OT GESO (7): desert national park

2021-11-21 Thread Subash Jeyan
i and my son, along with six others had taken a birding trip last week
to desert national park, or dnp, in jaisalmer, rajasthan, in
northwest india, close to the pakistan border.

the dnp is a rather large park, situated in the thar desert and is home
to the critically endangered great indian bustard and has rich avian
life. we got to see and photograph a wide variety of birds but they are
still in the sd card. i'll post a GESO once the photos have been
processed. meanwhile a small selection of photos taken with the mobile
last 40 km or so were on road.
