What a stately home and so nicely decorated. Do I take it that all the red and
green dots are from those laser lights?

There's a place in the North of France near to where we usually spend the
holidays that is known up and down the département for its lavish decoration,
including a life-sized mechanical bear near the front door that sways its hips
like Elvis and sings Xmas songs. At dusk, the elderly lady running the show
takes almost half an hour to plug everything in.

Thanks Ralf. Yes, the dots are projected by the lasers. The patterns change and
the dots swirl. They play across the ceilings of the interior as well. Good fun.

I thought some might be interested in the link below—alleged new

Apparently, some are working on Artificial Intelligence that does all

the
 workflow.

Anyway, wishing everyone all the best. I plan to be a little more
active on

Ham on toast! Makes me feel posh having home-made croissants with brie
(I'd have loved some good ham with them). And of course a generous slice
of breakfast pavlova because calories don't count today.

Croissants and brie! How very, very posh...

Ham on toast is one of life's little luxuries - almost as good as
Vegemite on toast :-)

We have a very good butcher not far away who cures his own ham - and
bloody good it is too!

This year it's worked out that most of the family stuff has been spread
out over a couple of weeks. So we've had a nice Christmas day so far
with lots to do but without being rushed.

Much the same here. Our youngest son is here today and we've been taking
it easy while sampling chocolates, listening to music and watching The
Second Best Marigold Hotel - almost as good as the original. We're
saving our appetites for tomorrow when our oldest son and his partner
will be here for lunch.

Cheers

It was 78 degrees (F) here in Raleigh yesterday. Even with the heat off,
it got so hot in the house I had to turn the air conditioner back on.

Seventy degrees (F) is more the norm around here for this time of year.
Winter doesn't really begin to show up until mid-January.

Sorry, Dan

Braai & plat-hoender are the South African words for barbeque & spatchcock

Ham on toast! Makes me feel posh having home-made croissants with brie (I'd
have loved some good ham with them). And of course a generous slice of
breakfast pavlova because calories don't count today.

This year it's worked out that most of the family stuff has been spread out
over a couple of weeks. So we've had a nice Christmas day so far with lots to
do but without being rushed.

Otherwise, reading a book and having a sip of wine with dinner.

Croissants and brie! How very, very posh...

Ham on toast is one of life's little luxuries - almost as good as
Vegemite on toast :-)

We have a very good butcher not far away who cures his own ham - and
bloody good it is too!

Much the same here. Our youngest son is here today and we've been taking
it easy while sampling chocolates, listening to music and watching The
Second Best Marigold Hotel - almost as good as the original. We're
saving our appetites for tomorrow when our oldest son and his partner
will be here for lunch.

Re: Happy Holidays Everyone!

2012-12-26 Thread Christine Aguila
Thanks Everyone! Hope the day was a good one. Frankly, I'm glad it's over. I
had a nice day, but I'm eager to start the new year. I have plans for some
creative projects--both personal and work related, lots of photography, and I
may start playing my fiddle again--and of course some travel, maybe a few short
trips, then save up for another one abroad somewhere. I'm eager to jump back
into life! :-) Cheers, Christine

It's very arbitrary and whether a post is followed with a Mark! has
absolutely no bearing on what gets included.

You mean, Mark! loses all bearings in the process?! ;-)

..

Thanks for the clarification. I was assuming you were context-searching
for Mark! in your mailbox.

It's totally unscientific and nearly random, in other words.

I would've written Mark!, but it will have absolutely no bearing.. :-)

Re: Happy Holidays! The PDML Quotations Archive 2011 is open!

2011-12-28 Thread knarftheria...@gmail.com
Every single MARK! I've yelled over the past year has made the list.

Read whatever you want into that.

:-)

Okay seriously, I have no idea if any of my alerts made the list. I don't
keep track.

The compiling of the list pre-dates our shout-outs. A year or two after the
list's introduction someone pointed out a particularly pithy line to Mark and
the practice evolved from there. But there isn't anything formal about it. It's
Mark's list that he kindly shares with us for our entertainment and enjoyment
(and sometimes our red-faced shame). The method matters not.

Cheers,
frank

- Doctor, everybody ignores me!
- Next patient, please!...

Mark,

I am not sure what procedure you use for this selection process, but
I found that none of those that I Mark!ed, made it to the list,
and also that several quotes marked by other people made between your
wrap-up for the 2010 list and the end of the year 2010 did not make
it to the list either.

I am just curious if you do additional selection from the marked
quotations and in general, what the procedure is.

Thank you,

Igor
