I had the astronomy picture of the day as my home page for a long
time, but I started to get bored with it. Then I changed to the Magnum
photo essay of the day on Slate. But they seem to be putting more and

of animation, even when the essays are really good.

Those are easy enough to kill, even with Internet Exploiter.

With Firefox I turn off GIF animations with the about:config settings

New MZ-5n On Pentax Japan Home Page

2001-07-05 Thread Grigolia

Another MZ series camera! The Pentax Japan Home Page has just
introduced the new Pentax MZ-5n. If any Japanese linguists could translate
we greatly appreciate it.
The item is list under New Products with a July 5th date! The camera
has an all black body! And it does NOT have the slanted top of the MZ-S.

As far as I know the MZ-5n is not a new camera but several years old. The MZ-5n was
made for exposrt. Japan had the MZ-5 and the MZ-3. Now that the MZ-5 and MZ-3 are
discontinued Japan will do with the MZ-5n like the rest of the world. In other words,
this is a release of the MZ-5n on japanese market.
The black color is probably also a japanese market thing like the black MZ-7 or MZ-3.

I agree, and I like it better. Mine was silver and stood out like a
sore...thing that stands out a lot. I prefer black equipment because it's
*marginally* less obvious.

Obviously, I'm out of luck on the FA* lenses, although, as Bill has pointed
out to me, big glass is light-colored for functional reasons, so I can't
grip too much.
