The 24-70 2.8 is also down.

But the 150-450 seems to be pretty high and going higher. Shoulda got
this when it was $1700, now its like $2500.

Ok, I was looking at a chart of the exchange rate for the last month. It
had gone from 103.83 yen/dollar to 109.11 yen/dollar. The low point
appears to have been some time in August, with the dollar strengthening
since then.

When did the price change take place?

Yes, I suppose the reception has been extremely positive and the laws
of supply and demand push the price higher. The good news is that
this may provide some badly needed infusion of $$ and momentum for the

It’s all in what you compare it to. Of course I think of a K1 as the
equivalent of about 5 race tires….

K-1 price conversation

2016-03-03 Thread Stanley Halpin
So I am sitting at my computer, relaxing after clearing the residue of our
second 10-12” of snow within the last week…

Her: What are you looking at?

Me: The new K-1 from Pentax! This is the full-frame I have been talking about.

Her: How much will it cost?

Me: About $18.

Her: $18,000!?!

Me: No, $1800.

Her: That’s ok then. With you and your cameras I can never tell…

Me: It won’t actually be available until sometime in April.

Her: That’s nice…
