Re: OT: The Lifeguard
Northern breeds avoid water Not so with my Malamute - Bear. On his first encounter with Lake Michigan was he didn't want anything to do with it, but little by little we coaxed him in and in a matter of a few minutes we had a difficult time getting him out. He loved being tossed by the waves. Kenneth Waller http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/kennethwaller - Original Message - From: Daniel J. Re: OT: The Lifeguard
Interesting. The are brave and inquisitive, so I am sure they can become accustomed to water, but I have had nine, and now was fond of actually entering water more than a few inches deep. One of my puppies accidentally fell in a pool while chasing a German Shepherd; he didn't panic, but promptly swan to the edge and climbed out. Re: OT: The Lifeguard
LOL Swimming does not come naturally to Northern Breeds. Have you read The Cruelest Miles about the dog sled relay that brought the serum to Nome? It is an incredible story, especially for anyone who loves sled dogs. There is an incredible story there about how TOGO save Seppala and the serum when the ice flow split and they were separated. I highly recommend the book: http://www.amazon.com/The-Cruelest-Miles-Against-Epidemic/dp/0393325709 Dan Matyola http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/danieljmatyola On Tue, Jul 7, 2015 at 10:58 PM, P.J.
