I'm waiting on this option too - as I recall, Mark put it up as an separate

Wouldn't a cormorant quill be more appropriate?

I saw an exhibition a few years ago of Quentin Blakes's work and associated
artefacts. He has a lot quills from different birds which he uses for
drawing. One of the highlights was some large drawings of birds with the
very quills he used to draw them. They included such things as ostrich,
vulture, swan and so on. Can't remember a cormorant though.

Mark, is there a jpeg image of the cover available somewhere that we can
upload to all the usual social networking sites to advertise this? I'm
thinking something like Christine's nice postcard jpegs (600x408) which
I've uploaded to Flickr and linked on my blog.

We had a good one last year for the 2008 annual.

Ken,

In what way(s) is the hard cover better? I assume the inside is the same, right?

As an aside, Mark showed me the softcover version today, and it looks
GREAT. I thought last year's had a nice layout, but I prefer this
year's much more; Mark is clearly honing his book designing skills.
And everyone's photos look fantastic; I'm quite impressed with Blurb's
quality considering the book can be had for a little over 30 bucks.

Who took the photo of the kid crawling inside the pipe? You get extra
honours! :-)

Jostein, I take my hat off to you. As I said to Mark and Lisa, it's
hard to take a good photo of Penguins, and you took a fantastic one.
Bravo!

Great, thanks for all the hard yards put into this project Mark et al!

Are there any local PDMLers left who would like to place a bulk order
to reduce shipping costs?

Cheers,

Yeah, isn't that a great photo!!! Just about perfect in my book --
remembering it from a Peso.

I bet it sells the first night

Subjectively, the image wrap has a more finished, permanent look/feel to it
compared to the soft cover, you know like the difference between a hard
cover book a paperback.

Yes the contents are the same.

Bugger.

Sorry Rob. I was so keen to place my order that the possibility of a
bulk order didn't occur to me. Mind you, we had some friends over
yesterday and after several hours of sampling some excellent reds, I may
well have ordered 'A Photographic Guide to Crazy Cormorants'.
