I've been using the Pec Pads and E2 with fair success.

The new E2 fluid is a lot less volatile than the E1 fluid - takes a
long time to evaporate, which can be a bit unnerving.

It works fine. I paid $45 or so for the kit and it's lasted me a few

I must make a trip to the pusher today to see what they have for wet

I've been using both the Eclipse/PecPad and the ICK1. The ICK1 is a lot

approach could be the only successful solution in case of oily stains or
halos, such as fingerprints.

I keep my Eclipse/PecPad kit ready in the cabinet, just in case...

Re: Pentax sensor cleaning kit

The wet approach could be the only successful solution in case of
oily stains or halos, such as fingerprints.

It seems that you'd need malice aforethought to get fingerprints on a
sensor.

I've been using the Pec Pads and E2 with fair success.

The new E2 fluid is a lot less volatile than the E1 fluid - takes a
long time to evaporate, which can be a bit unnerving.

It works fine. I paid $45 or so for the kit and it's lasted me a few
years already (and should last another 10-20 at the rate I'm using
it). Takes a bit of practice, but it's not impossible.

I would be interested to see the ICK in action - might be easier
since there is no danger of over-wetting anything!

I've been using both the Eclipse/PecPad and the ICK1. The ICK1 is a
lot easier to use, and makes you confident of not damaging anything.
The wet approach could be the only successful solution in case of oily
stains or halos, such as fingerprints.

I keep my Eclipse/PecPad kit ready in the cabinet, just in case...

The Pentax cleaning kit works well and it's easy to use. Make sure to

once in mor than 3 years. Usually, a puff or two with a Giotto rocket
blower is enough to clear the dust on the sensor of the *ist DS. And i

Pentax Sensor Cleaning Kit

2006-11-22 Thread Bertil Holmberg
This simple to use and economical kit will become available on the
30th for about $36.

The camera in the article is the *istD so the kit should work with
all Pentax DSLRs.

It would be interesting to know how often it might be required for
the K10D. Time will tell how efficient the built-in dust removal is
and I suppose your mileage will differ depending on the environment
in which you use the camera and how often the lens is changed.

I use sensor swabs too so I don't think I'll be buying the Pentax kit.

I suppose the good thing is that Pentax is at least finally acknowledging that
sending a camera to a Pentax Service Centre for sensor cleaning (as per the
