I've found Bath to be very laid back these days. A bit touristy, to be sure (it's much nicer off-season), but still very relaxed. The first time Lisa and I had dinner at what became one of our favorite places there, The Walrus and the Carpenter, the owner, clearly a former hippie who recognized kindred spirits, took an instant liking to us and kept stopping by our table to chat. He warned us that he had a bit of short-term memory loss because I did the sixties really well. Nice pic! I haven't been to Bath since about 1994. It was nice enough then for a quick visit but little more. The Roman villa that's somewhat to the south on the Fossway was much nicer to see as a but of Roman Britain history to me. Also the one on the south coast near Fishbourne.
