Re: PESO: Redbud & Dogwood
Thanks, Paul. Yes, unfortunately, the Redbud lost its main two lower branches in a windstorm. Its wood seems to be even more brittle than dogwood. I planted this particular tree quite some time ago, in a location where another tree had recently died, so I suspect the soil and light conditions are poor, and are factors in the manner in which this tree has developed. PESO: Redbud & Dogwood
On my morning walk, I was admiring my neighbor's Redbud tree, and it got me to wondering why I hadn't seen the one I planted a couple of decades ago. When I got back to my front yard, I looked up, and there it was. It had grown so tall that all its red blossoms were above and behind one of my white dogwoods, and now hardly noticeable: http://dan-matyola.squarespace.com/danmatyolas-pesos/2022/4/27/red-white K-5 IIs, smc DA 18-135hour mm F 3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR Comments, criticisms, questions, and suggestions are invited and appreciated. Quite a splendid sight actually. Things are rather drab around here now ("Autumn") but the trees only lose their leaves towards the end of "Winter" & almost immediately get new ones.
