Re: Sony A7 and A7r reviewed by DigitalRev

2013-11-30 Thread Boris Liberman
I've watched several of their reviews having seen the links here. Well,
if you take them just as an opinion of few persons (assuming, they do
have a team of reviewers, not just two guys) who have brief experience
with great many various cameras, and more extensive experience with
rather few of them - I think everything falls into place.

I for one, quite liked watching the reviews simply because they are far
more alive than most of what is written on the net, especially by sites
such as DXO or DPR.

And I totally don't care who comes on top when they compare stuff.

That show has had some great moments too like having his friend step
through a shoot with a hasselblad that he had been using for 20-30
years. The best comment: the pentax 67 has sharper lenses. Some
times the show is awful too. You should go back and watch what it was
like 2+ years ago. Wooden and pretty boring with rarely a joke to be
heard.

entertainment, not because I cared about the camera or lens), I've
come to believe he does know his s*!t but will play dumb for the sake
of comedy. Plus, I'm 95% certain DigitalRev sees these videos as
advertising, not really as technical reviews :-)

In any case, when he doesn't like something, he's clear about it and
doesn't mince words, and I don't think I've ever seen him praise a
Sony product like he did the A7(r).

If only their lenses weren't so humongous, they could be contenders
for Miserere's stable of street cameras, especially at $1,700 for the
 A7.

Having watched way too many of his reviews (often just for the
entertainment, not because I cared about the camera or lens), I've
