Max aperture 4.5 or faster would be a no go for me. -Original Message- From: Alan C c...@lantic.net Subject: Vivitar 1.4x Auto Focus Tele Converter for Pentax Has anyone tried this tele converter? http://www.adorama.com/VV14XP.html?utm_term=Otherutm_medium=Affiliateutm_campaign=Otherutm_source=rflaid65093 Alan -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Probably not the best optically as well as apparently having other issues. Re: Vivitar 1.4x Auto Focus Tele Converter for Pentax
Pentax as much as says that the 1.7x auto focus adapter shouldn't be used with any lens slower than f2.8. But I had good luck with it using the A*300 f4.0 on even such enchant film bodies as the ZX-5n. I expect it depends more on the low light capabilities of the camera itself. However that teleconverter seems to have electrical problems that make it more problematic. And on a K10D no less! I also own the Tamron 1.4x TC and it works great with screwdrive AF lenses.
