I'm coming into this conversaiton a bit late but I don't think they can be
interchanged because the BF has a longer feedscrew. The BE feedscrew would be
too short for the BF,and the BF would be too long for the BE.

Are parts - specifically feedscrews, gears and 2/4 adapters interchangeable
between Columbia BE's and BF's? I'm sure someone out there knows...

Are you able to remove the kit and put it back to 2 minute or is the feedscrew
part of it?

Columbia 2/4 upgrade parts seem very rare to me, I can tell you all about the
Edison ones, but I know nothing about Columbia. I would really appreciate
someone taking the time to explain when Columbia made the upgrade kits and what
machines they fit.
With regards to the home and triumph there are 5 different upgrade mandrels and
they are all marked. The standard appears to all have the same one, and I have
photos of the upgrade gear for the early SM triumph or concert.
Calling all Columbia 2/4 upgrade experts.

John,Do you know anything about the 2/4 min conversions? Are they just the
gearing on the end of the original feedscrew or do they require a feedscrew
conversion also? If the 2/4 doesn't need a special feedscrew, then maybe just
the gears and selector would interchange, irregardless of the feedscrew
length...

Re: [Phono-L] COLUMBIA QUESTION...

2012-05-01 Thread john coffman
My BF has a 2/4 min conversion.I believe mine came from the factory with
it.There is a slotted stud in the side which is used to engage the gearing
by means of a pull knod. One speed when in the slot a different speed when
out of the slot. Also the gearing cover is different as the part which
normally covers the feed screw shows the BF model is not there.I have not
had to disasemble the actual conversion, but it does screw into the feedscrew
at the gear.I hope this helps.- Original Message -
