Re: [Phono-L] Very Sad News
What a shock! We have never met Bob, but he has always been so helpful and generous with advice, time and knowledge over the years. He was always quick to answer inquisitive emails. Not only that, he didn't hesitate to invite total strangers to visit their home or even spend time on the boat! He will be sorely missed. My heart aches for his family and friends. We send our message of sympathy to Karen and the family. Bob and Karen shared their love of the hobby with everyone. Bob set a wonderful example for all collectors, enjoyed collecting, wrote articles and answered questions for the beginning and advanced collector. Thank you Brice, for letting me know. I will really miss Bob and all of the wonderful things he has done for our hobby. Years ago, Bob had the parts I needed to restore a Victrola Credenza. Re: [Phono-L] Very Sad News
Thank you Brice, for letting us know about Bob's passing. I'm shocked - Bob always seemed so fit and healthy for the years I've known him. And he was, as you wrote, most generous with other collectors. In my case, he tolerated my many arcane questions in the course of researching various talking machines. Not only did he answer what he could immediately, but he would follow up days later with additional information - sometimes after disassembling machines in his collection. His heart was in our hobby, and he will indeed be missed.
