Bug#733586: closure-compiler: new upstream version available

Gentle ping? The latest upstream release is 20151015 as far as I can
see. There have been some changes so the present Debianisation cannot
simply be forwarded. My skills in Java packaging are however somewhat
limited.

Christoph, on behalf of another person who is interested in using
closure-compiler

Hi Christoph,

Thank you for the reminder on this.

I took a look at the 20151015 release and so far it appears that we only
need to package one additional reverse dependency - "truth"
(http://google.github.io/truth). We may also take advantage of this
opportunity to switch from ant to the maven-based build system. I'll
try to get the new r-dep packaged this weekend and then see how quickly
we can get the rest of it ready to go.

Cheers,
tony

Hi,

eclipse-pydev depends on libasm3-java, which is obsolete and
incompatible with Java 8 which will be the new default in the near
future. eclipse-pydev should be ported to the new libasm4-java
version, so that we can remove the old, unmaintained one.

Please try to do this before the Stretch release as we are going to
try to remove libasm3-java this cycle.

We will bump this issue to serious when the list of rdeps is small
and we are getting ready to remove libasm3-java completely.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask and contact us on

debian-j...@lists.debian.org

Markus

Bug#733586: closure-compiler: new upstream version available

2015-11-04 Thread Christoph Biedl
Source: closure-compiler
Version: 20130227+dfsg1-8
Followup-For: Bug #733586

Gentle ping? The latest upstream release is 20151015 as far as I can
see. There have been some changes so the present Debianisation cannot
simply be forwarded. My skills in Java packaging are however somewhat
limited.

Christoph, on behalf of another person who is interested in using

No idea how you fetched the orig source before but I doubt that the
debian/watch file could work at all. Any volunteer to upgrade
libsequence-library-java to (possibly) fix #802356?

Kind regards

   Andreas.

This might be a hint. This library will be provided in Debian by the
package libsequence-library-java which has version 1.0.2 currently.
I'll try to make an upgrade happen and will report in case this is not
sufficient.

I attached the full build log of the package which should answer these
questions.

Debian command uscan is parsing

http://svnkit.com/download.php

and fetched it from there.

I do not think so.

Upgrading to 1.0.3 should resolve the problem then.

By default, gradle should download exact library version specified as a
dependency from the central maven repository. It might be that it does
download it, but compile classpath includes system package (1.0.2) and
older version is actually used.

Bug#802356: Latest version (1.8.11) fails to build

2015-11-04 Thread TMate Software Support
Hello Andreas,

Thank you for reporting this issue! So far I have no idea why it fails to
compile.

The error being reported is:

 [javac] /build/svnkit-1.8.11/svnkit/src/main/java/org/tmatesoft/
> svn/core/internal/wc2/ng/SvnDiffGenerator.java:524: error: no suitable

> [javac] (actual and formal argument lists differ in length)
> [javac] method QDiffManager.generateTextDiff(
> InputStream,InputStream,String,Writer,QDiffGenerator) is not applicable
> [javac] (actual and formal argument lists differ in length)

The method reported as not found is part of the 'sequence' library SVNKit
uses, particular version of this library
'de.regnis.q.sequence:sequence-library:1.0.3' referred from build.gradle
build file and this version of the library does include this method.

Could you please provide some more information on your environment? What
JDK do you use to compile SVNKit? What is the exact command you use to
build SVNKit?

And finally how do you obtain SVNKit 1.8.11 sources?

Until recently there were no '1.8.11' tag in SVN repository, now it is
there at http://svn.svnkit.com/repos/svnkit/1.8.11
Might that cause the problem?

Thanks!
