[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#769603: [rsibreak] Cannot file tickets upstream

2014-11-14 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: rsibreak
Version: 4:0.11-3
Severity: important
Tags: upstream

It is not possible to report issues with RSIBreak upstream. The page opened by
Report Bug... reads:

Sorry, entering a bug into the product /rsibreak/ has been disabled.
Please press *Back* and try again.

Of course, Back is not even available.

I'm not sure why reporting was disabled, but upstream seems quite inactive. I
don't see any tracker outside KDE's Bugzilla. It looks like upstream currently
has no issue tracker.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#769362: [kde-telepathy-data] telepathy not capitalized in extended description

2014-11-12 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: kde-telepathy-data
Version: 0.8.1-3
Severity: minor

The extended description contains:
KDE telepathy shared data.

Telepathy is a proper noun and should be capitalized.

By the way, this sentence is incomplete, like many others from this source
package's descriptions.

Package: libktpcommoninternalsprivate7
Version: 0.8.1-2

contians should read contains.

By the way, internal should be pluralized in the short description.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#756869: [konq-plugins] Transform Image plugin missing

2014-08-02 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: konq-plugins
Version: 4:4.13.3-1
Severity: normal

According to the extended description, konq-plugins contains:

 - Transform Image (service menu): rotate and flip images

It appears konq-plugins no longer contains Transform Image. Konqueror does not
offer to rotate or flip images.

By the way, the Microformat Icon plugin was apparently renamed Konqueror Feed
Icon.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#585456: [digikam] please don't depend on marble-data

Filipus,

I view geolocation to be a core function for digikam, so wont disable this
capability.

I don't consider geolocation a *core* function, but geolocation certainly has
great potential. I'm sorry for the brief report, I didn't mean this as a
request to disable geolocation at all.

I should say I do not own a camera. Once every year or 2, I'll install Digikam
to import photos from a relative's device. Digikam has never been lightweight,
but with recent versions, it's gotten fatter. On my not-so-bare KDE install,
installing Digikam (without disabling recommends) caused a 71 MB download and
required 231 MB more of storage.

I'm sure people who love photography find Digikam's development great, but
there may be a fair share of small users who would prefer that new features
don't *necessarily* increase storage requirements much. I would love to see
kde-standard bring digikam, but that's hard to imagine with the current
dependencies set.

Perhaps there is a way for marble-data to be reduced in size?

Mark

marble-data is now a 13 MB download which takes 23 MB uncompressed. I am neither
knowledgeable on Digikam or on Marble, but I took a quick look. marble-data contains more
stuff than I imagined. Maps, icons, sounds, and map data. If I understand correctly,
marble-data is mostly used for the Marble Virtual Globe's Atlas map type.
From what I saw, it looks like Digikam doesn't need marble/data/maps/. That directory is
7 MB though, not a huge gain. On the other hand, the Atlas map is very minimal. I'm not
seeing a city of 10 000, and that doesn't look at all like an exception. Therefore, the
sizeable marble-data seems to only provide a map of minimal quality. Even locating a
picture in the right city would seem difficult with the Atlas map.

Digikam offers 2 backends - Google Maps and Marble Virtual Globe. Marble Virtual Globe
has 2 types, Atlas map and OpenStreetMap. I imagine that the Google Maps backend
requires connectivity, and Marble Virtual Globe's OpenStreetMap visibly does too. By default,
Digikam uses the Atlas map. I wonder how hard it would be to have Digikam keep offering Geolocation
unconditionally, but only offer the Atlas map when marble-data is installed.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#728941: [amarok-utils] No manual pages for amzdownloader, amarok_afttagger

2013-11-06 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: amarok-utils
Version: 2.8.0-2
Severity: normal

amarok-utils ships /usr/bin/amzdownloader and /usr/bin/amarok_afttagger, for
which no manual pages are provided. Policy 12.1 says every program should
provide a manual page.

This could be particularly problematic for amzdownloader, as it also doesn't
support the --help option.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#692643: [kaffeine] does not support Phonon backends

2012-11-07 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: kaffeine
Version: 1.2.2-2
Severity: normal

According to the extended description:

Kaffeine is a media player for KDE. While it supports multiple Phonon
backends, its default backend is Xine, giving Kaffeine a wide variety of
supported media types and letting Kaffeine access CDs, DVDs, and
network streams easily.

Kaffeine used to support multiple backends, but Debian has only
supported xine for many years. Then Kaffeine moved to Phonon for version
1, but the switch was reversed before Kaffeine 1 was released, in
Kaffeine 1.0-pre3. Our package only offers Xine as backend since that
time, but the description was not updated.

By the way, I'm not sure that for KDE respects KDE's new terminology.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#691050: [k3b] sometimes complains about missing dependencies (cdrdao, dvd+rw-tools) when launched

2012-10-20 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: k3b
Version: 2.0.2-6
Severity: minor

I changed K3b's language from French to English and restarted it. It
then strangely complained about cdrdao missing, even though it didn't do
that in French:

Unable to find cdrdao executable
K3b uses cdrdao to actually write CDs.
Solution: Install the cdrdao package.

It does that every time it's launched in English, and now even in French.

I tested that with another user and had the problem right away, in
French, but with dvd+rw-tools instead. The problem disappeared when I
forced the language to English.

k3b depends on both dvd+rw-tools and cdrdao

Setting severity as minor as I haven't determined that this message is a
symptom of any actual failure of K3b to use its dependencies. In fact,
if I go in the settings, K3b correctly shows cdrdao as installed. Oh
wait, now it doesn't show... very odd behavior. After going in the
configuration a few times, the issue for my main user changed to say
dvd+rw-tools was missing, too. After some 20 test, k3b never complained
about both dvd+rw-tools and cdrdao missing at the same time.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#691053: [k3b] Please mention that K3b can rip in descriptions

2012-10-20 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: k3b
Version: 2.0.2-6
Severity: wishlist

The extended description reads:

K3b provides a comfortable user interface to perform most CD/DVD burning
tasks. While the experienced user can take influence in all steps
of the burning process the beginner may find comfort in the automatic
settings

and the reasonable k3b defaults which allow a quick start.

It would be helpful to mention that K3b can rip. According to About K3b:

K3b is a full-featured CD/DVD/Blu-ray burning and ripping application.
It supports a variety of project types as well as copying of optical
media, burning of different types of images, and ripping Audio CDs,
Video CDs, and Video DVDs.
Its convenient user interface is targeted at all audiences, trying to
be as simple as possible for novice users while also providing all
features an advanced user might need.

Note that a comma would be good in the second sentence, after burning
process.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#667528: [bluedevil] listen incoming requests in extended description

2012-04-04 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: bluedevil
Version: 1.2.2-1
Severity: minor

The extended description contains:

or to introduce a requested PIN.

Something's wrong in A daemon to listen incoming requests. This could
read A daemon to listen to incoming requests, or A daemon listening
to incoming requests (less to-s).

Or, perhaps more simply, A daemon to receive requests.

By the way, at the end of an enumeration, please use *either* etcetera
or an ellipsis, not both (unless the meaning is that there are many
many more items).

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#667070: [plasma-runner-installer] Not working / no effect

2012-04-03 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: plasma-runner-installer
Version: 1.3.0-1
Severity: important

Installing plasma-runner-installer seems to have had no effect on
KRunner here. Setting severity to important assuming that the problem is
system-specific.

This is on a freshly installed KDE 4.7.4. The KRunner plugin is visible
and enabled in KRunner configuration. The only thing related I find in

I tried running synaptiks. When I hit Enter, nothing happens. If I

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#666083: [partitionmanager] Une op?ration en attente when starting partitionmanager in French

2012-03-28 Thread Filipus Klutiero

Package: partitionmanager
Version: 1.0.2-1

In English, when starting Partition Manager, the status bar shows 0
pending operations, unsurprisingly. However, in French, it already
displays Une opération en attente, which is the translation given for
One pending operation:

msgctxt @info:status
msgid One pending operation
msgid_plural %1 pending operations
msgstr[0] Une opération en attente
msgstr[1] %1 opérations en attente

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#554626: Dolphin doesn't have full integration with kdesvn

2009-11-05 Thread Filipus Klutiero
Package: kdesvn
Version: 1.4.1-1
Severity: normal

kdesvn doesn't add context menu item or the Subversion (kdesvn) group to
Dolphin as it does in konqueror. In any folder, konqueror will have a Checkout
from a repository menu item (as well as Export from a subversion repository),
but Dolphin doesn't have it. Dolphin however has the expected actions when
you're inside a checkout.
I see no documentation on kdesvn's Dolphin integration, but I guess this is a
bug.

This is probably an upstream bug. Related bug:
http://kdesvn.alwins-world.de/ticket/583
At the beginning I was under the impression kdesvn had no kdesvn integration,
so I thought that ticket was about my problem. Maybe the reporter also didn't
realize the integration partially existed.

TouchFreeze does not disable the touchpad unless the X SHMConfig option is
enabled. Since that option is not enabled by default, TouchFreeze doesn't
work by default. This is well documented in README.Debian, the actual
problem is that the interface (which is launched from the utilities menu)
does not give any clue about this. When started in console, it whines:

I believe that touchfreeze just works with new versions of the synaptics
driver and probably doesn't need to be any more informative when started on
the command line. Thanks and closing bug.

I don't know, but these new versions don't seem to have reached testing; the
bug persists. Please reopen.
