[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#777128: FTBFS: build failures only with qt5

2015-02-05 Thread Ritesh Raj Sarraf
Package: qtcurve
Version: 1.8.18-1
Severity: important

The current qtcurve, i.e. 1.8.18, does not build on any of the
architectures at all. I wonder how you've gottend it to build on i386,
given that the build failure is a common qt5 problem on all arches.

Do you have plans to fix this build failure ?

libkexiv2 has been updated. And that fixes the problem with 4.3.0-2 also.

This bug is considered 'grave' because it makes the package totally
 unusable.

I have pushed my changes with the exception of telepathy-qt
(pkg-telepathy). I do not have write permissions on that project.

 KTP 0.5.1 has minor annoyances.
 1) Does not detect network state
 2) App shuts down if you try to minimize it to systray.

I have updated the packages to the 0.5.3 release. This release is more
stable and usable, such that I am now using it primarily.

I have pushed the changes to the repo. I think this build should be
packaged and pushed to the experimental repository.
I already have all the packages built, so please let me know if you'd
like me to do it...

Hello George,

I wanted to try KTP 0.5 so I took your work and got the 0.5.1 packages
with it. It has been running fine for more than a day.

Would you be interested in seeing 0.5.1 in the archive?
I do have access to pkg-kde so if the git repo is set properly, I can
push it there.

PS: I just got the packaging complete so that it worked. I didn't do any
lintian checks etc.

This problem probably won't be fixed. kdebluetooth is replaced with
bluedevil which's deeply integrated into KDE.

So kdebluetooth does not seven see your device? Or is it that you
can't do some functions which it?

So does KDE + BlueDevil work for you? I have never had it been able to work.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#673519: update-notifier-kde: no notification in kde

2012-05-19 Thread Ritesh Raj Sarraf
Package: update-notifier-kde
Version: 1.2.4
Severity: normal

I have a bunch of crash file in /var/crash which should be acted upon by
update-notifier-kde. This does not happen.

rrs@champaran:~$ ls /var/crash/
_bin_bash.0.crash
_usr_lib_icedove_icedove-bin.1000.crash
iscsitarget-dkms.0.crash
_usr_lib_notification-daemon_notification-daemon.1000.crash
_usr_bin_calibre.1000.crash
_usr_lib_telepathy_telepathy-haze.1000.crash
_usr_bin_debtags-fetch.0.crash
_usr_lib_telepathy_telepathy-idle.1000.crash
_usr_bin_gnome-control-center.1000.crash
_usr_lib_x86_64-linux-gnu_colord_colord.114.crash
_usr_bin_gnome-shell.1000.crash
_usr_sbin_update-apt-xapian-index.0.crash
_usr_bin_pidgin.1000.crash
_usr_share_apport_apport-gtk.0.crash
_usr_bin_plasma-desktop.1000.crash
_usr_share_apport_apport-gtk.1000.crash
_usr_lib_gvfs_gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor.1000.crash
_usr_share_wicd_curses_wicd-curses.py.1000.crash
rrs@champaran:~$ update-notifier
gvfs-gdu-volume-monitor
plasma-desktop
/var/crash/iscsitarget-dkms
wicd-curses
icedove-bin
bash
debtags-fetch

If, then, I manually run update-notifier, it does sense changes in
/var/crash and report them. But this is the gtk version of
update-notifier. It does not show by itself in kde. In GNOME/XFCE, when
I login, I do get the correct notifications.

Looking at:
/usr/share/kde4/apps/kingston_update_notifier/kingston_update_notifier.notifyrc

it seems the notification types have been categorized. Is it something I
need to add here as a new context or event?

Wow!! This is good. Last time I checked, the upstream author had
discontinued kscope. But it is good that it is still available in Debian.

I personally use the KDE3 version of it. It is much more featureful
and still works a charm.

[Pkg-kde-extras] Packages not of official KDE SC

2011-11-21 Thread Ritesh Raj Sarraf
Hi,

There are some pretty nice stuff that are not part of KDE SC like
colibri, bespin and others.

There has been no work seen on these extra packages even though they are
pretty good.

I am interested in packaging bespin and colibri for Debian. Is there a
particular process the Extras team follows, or should I just ITP and
then start packaging (with co-ordination on this list) ?

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#628019: digikam build

2011-07-05 Thread Ritesh Raj Sarraf
On 07/05/2011 02:09 PM, Mark Purcell wrote:
 Thanks Ritesh,

I have updated the svn archive but we have some issues with releasing,
although I suppose we could to experimental, but it would be broken...

Unfortunately digikam is shipping lots of upstream libraries which then
turns into file conflicts between packages:
 http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/digikam-devel/2011-July/052493.html

You can track the work in svn here:
 http://anonscm.debian.org/viewvc/pkg-kde/kde-extras/digikam/trunk/debian/

Or even build directly from svn with the `debcheckout` command.

Yes, I noticed that while installing the package. A lot of kipi stuff is
now part of digikam.

I can't make out much from Gilles's reply. Do you have ideas on how to
tackle this?

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#528410: kphotoalbum's suggests (mplayerthumbs) not in debian

2009-05-12 Thread Ritesh Raj Sarraf
Package: kphotoalbum
Version: 4.0-1
Severity: normal

Hi,

First of all, thanks a ton for packaging the new kphotoalbum packages. I
can now get rid of the svn build.

You've put mplayerthumbs in Suggests for kphotoalbum, but there is no
package available for it.

I see an RFP, but that's old and with no activity. #402858
Is someone packaging it ?

Or is it going to stay like that ?
Because, without mplayerthumbs, there's no thumbnail for videos.

2009-02-28 Thread Ritesh Raj Sarraf
Doesn't look to be a KDE app anymore. Should this be changed to QScope ?

So I immediately looked at the KScope page bug don't see a 1.9.x release.

I don't know if cutting down the KDE dependency is right or not, but withtout
it, it looks ugly. For example, no code highlighting, no colors.
And on top of all, the new kscope doesn't recognize your old kscope projects.

Probably it is in the early stages atm, but I wanted to give my feedback.

Currently kscope depends on libkateinterfaces.so.0 which is part of kate. But

Can you please prepare a kscope package for KDE 4.1 in experimental?

Are you using it under KDE 4 ?
Do you mean the editor is ugly ?
If I'm not wrong the editor in previous version is done using kate.
 Now, it's Qscintilla.

Yes, I was testing it under KDE4.
Yes, It did install the qscintilla dependency.
IIRC Eric IDE also uses qscintilla and the editor looks good there. But in
case of kscope, it looked ugly. No line number, no highlighting, no colors.

And also, there was no Navigator/Explorer like in KScope 3 (1.6.x).

Elad, I hope I'm not asking for too much. But kate in KDE is an actively
maintained application. And now KDE is on Windows/Mac also.
Do you think the switch to qscintilla is worth it?
Depending on Kate brings all of Kate's power to Kscope. For eg, we can get the
recent Vim mode of Kate (Part of Kate of KDE4) in Kscope if kscope uses the
kate editor. Just a thought.

And thank you for KScope. I use it a lot. :-)

PS: I still use KScope 3 in KDE4. KScope only has the libkate dependency. So I
just extracted and installed those libs in my /usr/local folder.

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
kphotoalbum: Depends: libkipi0 but it is not going to be installed

As a temporary solution, you can extract the libkateinterfaces.so.0.0.0
from a kate3 debian package and put it in /usr/local/lib as all its
 deps are provided by kdelibs4c2a.

If you use i386, you can do the following (as root) :
   cd /tmp
   wget
 ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/k/kdebase/kate_3.5.9.dfsg.1-5_i386.deb
 ar x kate_3.5.9.dfsg.1-5_i386.deb
   tar xzf data.tar.gz
   cp usr/lib/libkateinterfaces.so.0.0.0 /usr/local/lib
   ldconfig

Let me know if it doesn't have side effects on kscope's
 stability/features.

Thank you Xavier. It did work and I'm using kscope currently without any
problems.
