[Pkg-kde-extras] Packages not of official KDE SC
Hi, There are some pretty nice stuff that are not part of KDE SC like colibri, bespin and others. There has been no work seen on these extra packages even though they are pretty good. I am interested in packaging bespin and colibri for Debian. Is there a particular process the Extras team follows, or should I just ITP and then start packaging (with co-ordination on this list) ? -- Given the large number of mailing lists I follow, I request you to CC me in replies for quicker response ___ pkg-kde-extras mailing list pkg-kde-extras@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/pkg-kde-extras

[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#493192: Fwd: Bug#493192 closed by Fathi Boudra f...@debian.org (kscope under KDE4)
Doesn't look to be a KDE app anymore. Should this be changed to QScope ? So I immediately looked at the KScope page bug don't see a 1.9.x release. I don't know if cutting down the KDE dependency is right or not, but withtout it, it looks ugly. For example, no code highlighting, no colors. And on top of all, the new kscope doesn't recognize your old kscope projects. Probably it is in the early stages atm, but I wanted to give my feedback. Hi Fathi, On Saturday 28 Feb 2009 17:54:13 Fathi Boudra wrote: I don't know if cutting down the KDE dependency is right or not, but withtout it, it looks ugly. For example, no code highlighting, no colors. Are you using it under KDE 4 ? Do you mean the editor is ugly ? If I'm not wrong the editor in previous version is done using kate. Now, it's Qscintilla. Yes, I was testing it under KDE4. Yes, It did install the qscintilla dependency. IIRC Eric IDE also uses qscintilla and the editor looks good there. But in case of kscope, it looked ugly. No line number, no highlighting, no colors. And also, there was no Navigator/Explorer like in KScope 3 (1.6.x). Elad, I hope I'm not asking for too much. But kate in KDE is an actively maintained application. And now KDE is on Windows/Mac also. Do you think the switch to qscintilla is worth it? Depending on Kate brings all of Kate's power to Kscope. For eg, we can get the recent Vim mode of Kate (Part of Kate of KDE4) in Kscope if kscope uses the kate editor. Just a thought. And thank you for KScope. I use it a lot. :-) PS: I still use KScope 3 in KDE4. KScope only has the libkate dependency. So I just extracted and installed those libs in my /usr/local folder. [Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#507235: kphotoalbum not installable with KDE4
Package: kphotoalbum Severity: normal kphotoalbum is not installable on my box where I have a KDE 4 installation. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo apt-get install kphotoalbum Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: kphotoalbum: Depends: libkipi0 but it is not going to be installed E: Broken packages Ritesh -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-custom (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash ___ pkg-kde-extras mailing list pkg-kde-extras@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-kde-extras
[Pkg-kde-extras] Bug#493192: Bug#493192: kscope doesn't run in KDE4
On Friday 01 August 2008 21:58:37 Xavier Vello wrote: The issue can't be fixed in kscope itself as it needs some library provided by kate3 and not kate4, and no kde4 version of kscope has been released yet. As a temporary solution, you can extract the libkateinterfaces.so.0.0.0 from a kate3 debian package and put it in /usr/local/lib as all its deps are provided by kdelibs4c2a. If you use i386, you can do the following (as root) : cd /tmp wget ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/k/kdebase/kate_3.5.9.dfsg.1-5_i386.deb ar x kate_3.5.9.dfsg.1-5_i386.deb tar xzf data.tar.gz cp usr/lib/libkateinterfaces.so.0.0.0 /usr/local/lib ldconfig Let me know if it doesn't have side effects on kscope's stability/features. Thank you Xavier. It did work and I'm using kscope currently without any problems.
