[Pkg-mozext-maintainers] Bug#869774: Problems with enigmail

2017-07-26 Thread Paul van der Vlis
Hello,

I have the same problem, I also get the error "This is an encrypted
OpenPGP message. In order to decrypt this mail, you need to install an
OpenPGP add-on." But Enigmail is installed. A reboot did not help.

As a work-arround I've downloaded Enigmail from Debian 9, and installed
it using "dpkg -i".

I can encrypt messages without a problem now, but when I decrypt a
message I get this alert:
--
Enigmail alert:

GnuPG reported an error in the communication with gpg-agent (a component
of GnuPG).

This is a system setup or configuration error that prevents Enigmail
from working properly and cannot be fixed automatically.

We strongly recommend that you consult our support web site at
https://enigmail.net/faq.
--
After clicking OK, I see the message decrypted.

I have installed the package gnupg-agent, but I don't see pgp-agent in
the output of "ps aux".

With regards,
Paul van der Vlis

[Pkg-mozext-maintainers] Bug#869790: thunderbird: throws SyntaxError in various (packaged) addons, e.g. enigmail and calendar-exchange-provider

2017-07-26 Thread Moritz Schlarb
Package: thunderbird
Version: 1:52.2.1-4~deb8u1
Severity: important

Since tonights upgrade to 52.2.1-4~deb8u1, I can't use the enigmail addon for
Thunderbird anymore.

The JS error console shows:

SyntaxError: missing ] after element list[Learn More] enigmailCore.jsm:334:32
SyntaxError: missing ] after element list[Learn More] msgHdrUtils.js:219:21
SyntaxError: missing ] after element list[Learn More] enigmailCore.jsm:334:32

The respective line 334 from enigmailCore.jsm is:

rStr += [getQuoted(args[i]) for (i in args)].join(" ").replace(//g,
'\\');

which seems reasonably bracketed to me - I suspect there is a problem with the
parsing of nested square brackets?

[Pkg-mozext-maintainers] Bug#869745: Confirmation and additional information

2017-07-26 Thread Shevek Mandragou
I can confirm this bug.

Detailed description:
* When clicking on encrypted mails, thunderbird says "This is an
encrypted OpenPGP message. In order to decrypt this mail, you need to
install an OpenPGP add-on" although enigmail is installed and shows up
in the menu and in addons
* Similiarly, the enigmail encryption symbol is shown (greyd-out) but no
longer works when writing mails
* Enigmail settings can no longer be accessed via the menu only via
addons (clicking on menu and hovering over enigmail no longer shows a
submenu, clicking on enigmail -> preferences in the menu bar
* Clicking on Enigmail buttons is no longer processed (yields no results)
* In Preferences -> Basic settings, the message beneath "Files and
Directories" is "(error)". Since clicking on enigmail buttons is no
longer processed, it is impossible to activate "Override with" to
/usr/bin/gpg2 ("Ok" button does not work, "Browse" button does not work,
"Display Expert Settings and Menus" does not work)

Further info:
* gpg and gpg2 exist (both in /usr/bin/) and both work flawlessly on the
command line
* all current upgrades have been installed
* I have been informed that the same error also occurs on at least one
other system of a colleague with a debian standard install

[Pkg-mozext-maintainers] Bug#869774: Corrections - propably wrong cause

2017-07-26 Thread Shevek Mandragou
Hi there,

OP here, I'm sorry but I noticed that i made a couple of mistakes:

a) the email address I submitted with the above bugreport no longer
exists. Please use this one instead.
b) I though that enigmail broke after a recent upgrade, but according to
changelog
(http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/e/enigmail/enigmail_1.8.2-4~deb8u1_changelog)
it seems that the last jessie upgrade of the package (a security
upgrade) was actually on 22 Nov 2015 (really!?!?)

Left with that, I currently have no more ideas how to find the real
source of the problem. Since we are using enigmail for work, this is an
outright desaster. I would appreciate any help in troubleshooting and
finding the actual cause of the problem.

Thanks,
Shevek
