Bug#627255: ITP: zita-rev1 -- reworked version of the reverb originally developed for Aeolus
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Alessio Treglia * Package name: zita-rev1 Version : 0.1.1 Upstream Author : Fons Adriaensen * URL : http://kokkinizita.linuxaudio.org/linuxaudio/zita-rev1-doc/quickguide.html * License : GPL Programming Lang: C++ Description : reworked version of the reverb originally developed for Aeolus REV1's character is more 'hall' than 'plate', but it can be used on a wide variety of instruments or voices. It is not a spatialiser - the early reflections are different for the L and R inputs, but do not correspond to any real room. They have been tuned to match left and right sources to some extent. . In Stereo mode a dry/wet mix control is provided, so it can be used either as an insert or in send/return mode. For mono just connect one of the two channels. . In Ambisonic mode (selected by the -B command line option) the only option is the send/return mode. . This package provide REV1, a standalone reverb effect. ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

Firstly about hangs, it's short. When I tried launch ecasound with small buffer option, it hung, and so was killed with -9. The command line follows: ecasound -b:128 -i ~/music/somefile.mp3 -o /dev/dsp I don't know should it be named problem or bug at all, but nevertheless it exists. Quite unsure if I had to create separate report mail, so it is included here. Secondly, about segfaults on interrupt. (Note: may be it's a problem of plugins?) I have met this problem trying examples from http://www.eca.cx/ecasound/Documentation/examples.html, these command lines: ecasound -i null -o /dev/dsp -el:sine_fcac,440,1 ecasound -i:null -o:/dev/dsp -pn:metronome,120 Segfault happens not always, but usually. Terminal output for "kamerton" run and two (normal and segfaulted) for "metronome" runs follow. Same results for "Ctrl-C" stops and kill -15. The most of other example command lines from that address didn't cause segfaults on terminate. $ ecasound -i null -o /dev/dsp -el:sine_fcac,440,1 *ecasound v2.4.4 (C) 1997-2005 Kai Vehmanen and others - [ Session created ] -- - [ Chainsetup created (cmdline) ] - - [ Connecting chainsetup ] (eca-chainsetup) 'rt' buffering mode selected. Bug#627197: mplayer2 dies with signal 4 (illegal instruction) on an Altivec-enabled iBook G4
Package: mplayer2 Version: 2.0-54-gd33877a-1 Severity: important Hi there. The machine where I do a good amount of my development is an iBook G4 and I was just trying to play a video, and I am having problems with it dying with a signal 4 (illegal instruction). I have not yet verified what instruction is the one that is making it die, but this is somewhat surprising: I would expect this to happen with an Altivec binary being run on a non-Altivec enabled processor (e.g., my iBook G3), but not in this case. Of course, I can give further details, but as I said in another e-mail, I am busy moving home etc. Thanks, Rogério Brito. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (2000, 'unstable'), (102, 'experimental') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Kernel: Linux 2.6.38-2-powerpc Locale: LANG=en_US.utf-8, LC_CTYPE=pt_BR.utf-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages mplayer2 depends on: ii libaa1 1.4p5-38+b1 ascii art library ii libasound2 1.0.23-4shared library for ALSA applicatio ii libaudio21.9.2-7 Network Audio System - shared libr ii libc62.13-4 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcaca0 0.99.beta17-1 colour ASCII art library ii libcdparanoia0 3.10.2+debian-10audio extraction tool for sampling ii libdca0 0.0.5-4 decoding library for DTS Coherent ii libdirectfb-1.2-91.2.10.0-4+b1 direct frame buffer graphics - sha ii libdvdnav4 4.1.3-7 DVD navigation library ii libdvdread4 4.1.3-10library for reading DVDs ii libenca0 1.13-4 Extremely Naive Charset Analyser - ii libesd0 0.2.41-9Enlightened Sound Daemon - Shared ii libfaad2 2.7-6 freeware Advanced Audio Decoder - ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-2.2 generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.4.4-1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libfribidi0 0.19.2-1Free Implementation of the Unicode ii libgcc1 1:4.6.0-7 GCC support library ii libgif4 4.1.6-9 library for GIF images (library) ii libgl1-mesa-glx [lib 7.10.2-2free implementation of the OpenGL ii libjack0 [libjack-0. 1:0.120.1+svn4142-1 JACK Audio Connection Kit (librari ii libjpeg626b1-1 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii liblircclient0 0.9.0~pre1-1infra-red remote control support - ii libncurses5 5.9-1 shared libraries for terminal hand ii libogg0 1.2.2~dfsg-1Ogg bitstream library ii libpng12-0 1.2.44-2PNG library - runtime ii libpulse00.9.21-4PulseAudio client libraries ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.14-6.3 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libsmbclient 2:3.5.8~dfsg-1 shared library for communication w ii libspeex11.2~rc1-1 The Speex codec runtime library ii libstdc++6 4.6.0-7 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libtheora0 1.1.1+dfsg.1-3 The Theora Video Compression Codec ii libvdpau10.4.1-2 Video Decode and Presentation API ii libvorbis0a 1.3.2-1 The Vorbis General Audio Compressi ii libx11-6 2:1.4.3-1 X11 client-side library ii libxext6 2:1.3.0-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxinerama1 2:1.1.1-1 X11 Xinerama extension library ii libxt6 1:1.1.1-1 X11 toolkit intrinsics library ii libxv1 2:1.0.6-1 X11 Video extension library ii libxxf86dga1 2:1.1.2-1 X11 Direct Graphics Access extensi ii libxxf86vm1 1:1.1.1-1 X11 XFree86 video mode extension l ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3compression library - runtime mplayer2 recommends no packages. mplayer2 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- Rogério Brito : rbrito@{ime.usp.br,gmail.com} : GPG key 4096R/BCFC http://rb.doesntexist.org : Packages for LaTeX : algorithms.berlios.de DebianQA: http://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=rbrito%40ime.usp.br ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

VLC has however replaced both mplayer and audacious and I've got rid of the horrible w32codecs package at last so I'm really pleased. The only trouble I have is every time I make a video go full screen. When do this, the whole screen gets just a little darker apart from a slither of pixels on the far left of the screen. If I keep flipping between full screen and windowed then the darkness address up until I can't see the KDE desktop. If at this stage however, I press control_alt_del for the logout prompt, or if I activate the Kmenu, then it goes white again, just in that redrawn area. Given the nature of the problem I decided the best thing to do was to take a video of it with my phone. http://shezza.sdf-eu.org/bug.3gp I noticed that VLC plays this ok, however it doesn't have any sound. Maybe that could be a seperate bug report at another time :) Any help with this KDE 'tanning' bug would be appreciated. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-3-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages vlc depends on: ii libaa11.4p5-33 ascii art library ii libatk1.0-0 1.20.0-1 The ATK accessibility toolkit ii libc6 2.7-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcaca0 0.99.beta13b-4 colour ASCII art library ii libcairo2 1.4.10-1+lenny2The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libcdio7 0.78.2+dfsg1-2 library to read and control CD-ROM ii libcucul0 0.99.beta13b-4 low-level Unicode character drawin ii libdbus-1-3 1.1.2-1simple interprocess messaging syst ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.74-1 simple interprocess messaging syst ii libfontconfig12.5.0-2generic font configuration library ii libfreetype6 2.3.5-1+b1 FreeType 2 font engine, shared lib ii libfribidi0 0.10.9-1 Free Implementation of the Unicode ii libgcc1 1:4.3-20080116-1 GCC support library ii libgl1-mesa-glx [libg 7.0.2-3A free implementation of the OpenG ii libglib2.0-0 2.14.3-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libglu1-mesa [libglu1 7.0.2-3The OpenGL utility library (GLU) ii libgtk2.0-0 2.12.1-1 The GTK+ graphical user interface ii libice6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 Inter-Client Exchange library ii libiso9660-5 0.78.2+dfsg1-2 library to work with ISO9660 files ii libjpeg62 6b-14 The Independent JPEG Group's JPEG ii libnotify1 [libnotify 0.4.4-3sends desktop notifications to a n ii libpango1.0-0 1.18.4-1 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libpng12-01.2.15~beta5-3 PNG library - runtime ii libsdl-image1.2 1.2.6-1image loading library for Simple D ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.11-9 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libsm62:1.0.3-1+b1 X11 Session Management library ii libstdc++64.3-20080116-1 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libtar1.2.11-4 C library for manipulating tar arc ii libtiff4 3.8.2-7Tag Image File Format (TIFF) libra ii libvcdinfo0 0.7.23-4 library to extract information fro ii libvlc0 0.8.6.c-4.1~lenny2 multimedia player and streamer lib ii libwxbase2.6-02.6.3.2.2-1wxBase library (runtime) - non-GUI ii libwxgtk2.6-0 2.6.3.2.2-1wxWidgets Cross-platform C++ GUI t ii libx11-6 2:1.0.3-7 X11 client-side library ii libxcomposite11:0.4.0-1 X11 Composite extension library ii libxcursor1 1:1.1.9-1 X cursor management library ii libxdamage1 1:

tags + 573304 moreinfo wontfix thanks Hello, VLC checks whether the standard output is a terminal. I find it pretty damn idiotic for emacs to emulate a terminal but, not quite. It might as well use a pipe or a local socket pair then. Unless someone can point to a simple function in libc to check whether ANSI color or ANSI control codes are supported, I am not going to fix this upstream. I cannot find any standard and simple way to hit termcap or terminfo for that purpose. Bug#538417: (pas de sujet)
tags 538417 + moreinfo thanks Hello, With the default settings, does the video come back when VLC looses focus? It is probably that your XVideo driver is incompatible with desktop compositing (and possibly a limitation of your graphical hardware). You can use plain X11 (vlc -V x11) then, but video playback will be much more CPU intensive. OpenGL is a middle ground. -- Rémi Denis-Courmont http://www.remlab.net/ ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

reassign 505771 libqt4-gui thanks Hello, The open file dialog is provided by the Qt4 GUI library, or possibly a plugin to it, so I am reassigning this bug. Note however that it is very likely that the issue is already fixed given the report is quite old. It might also be that the issue is in a package providing a GUI platform plugin to Qt. -- Rémi Denis-Courmont http://www.remlab.net/ ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers

The dependencies should be able to help too though, but should be specified in the packages themselves, no? If a piece of software depends on jackd or pulseaudio, it specifies "Depends: jackd | pulseaudio", and the user chooses (or doesn't need to choose, if pulse is already there). If it can only use jackd then it "Depends: jackd". Bug#624451: vlc: Audio quality (of mpeg radio stream) degraded beyond acceptable.
reassign 624451 pulseaudio thanks Hello, The fact that your audio quality suffers regardless of how PulseAudio is used by VLC (through libpulse or through alsa plugins) points very much at a problem inside PulseAudio. I can only recommend you don't use PulseAudio then. Reassigning anyway. Bug#623380: Cannot reproduce 623380
tags 623380 + unreproducible moreinfo thanks Hello, The provided stack trace does not make sense: module_list_get() does not call libGL or NVidia. We cannot investigate your problem as you have closed-source code running in the process. Please retry without the NVidia stuff. -- Rémi Denis-Courmont http://www.remlab.net/ ___ pkg-multimedia-maintainers mailing list pkg-multimedia-maintainers@lists.alioth.debian.org http://lists.alioth.debian.org/mailman/listinfo/pkg-multimedia-maintainers
