Hi,

this bug does not occur anymore with

mplayer 2:1.0~rc4.dfsg1+svn33713-2+b1

This time

lindi@ginger:~$ objdump -T /usr/bin/mplayer | grep __aeabi_
  DF *UND* GCC_3.5 __aeabi_unwind_cpp_pr0

also shows that mplayer does not try to use any __aeabi* stuff from
LIBAVCODEC*

Bug#612970: VP8 does not play on armel architecture (but works on amd64)

2011-02-11 Thread Timo Juhani Lindfors
Package: mplayer
Version: 2:1.0~rc4.dfsg1-1
Severity: normal

Steps to reproduce:
1) sudo apt-get install freecol mencoder ffmpeg mplayer
2) mencoder -oac pcm -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=ffvhuff -vf
scale=320:240,rotate=1 -o testcase1.tmp.avi
/usr/share/games/freecol/freecol/resources/video/freecol-opening.video.ogg
3) ffmpeg -i testcase1.tmp.avi -vcodec libvpx -acodec libvorbis testcase1.mkv
4) mplayer -nosound -vo null -endpos 1 testcase1.mkv

Expected results:
4) mplayer plays the video

Actual results:
4) (on armel architecture) mplayer does not play the video but only
prints

Bug#594093: mplayer: wrong byteorder on 16-bit displays with -vo x11 (-vo sdl works)?

2010-08-26 Thread Timo Juhani Lindfors
Hello Reinhard,

I managed to build ffmpeg 0.6-2 on armel by forcing

has_vfp := 1
has_neon := 1

in debian/confflags. After that mplayer 1.0~rc4~try1.dsfg1-1 built
without problems and the bug is now gone, thanks!

I ran some benchmarks to ensure that we have no serious
regressions. The following is in the format

(command)
# (output with 2:1.0~rc3++final.dfsg1-1)
# (output with 1.0~rc4~try1.dsfg1-1)
# (comment)

so that it can easily be run as a script if somebody wants to
replicate my results. /tmp/theora/lib used by the last two commands
contains the (r17262 of the) theorarm branch of libtheora that has
ARM optimizations which are not in Debian yet:

Bug#594474: mplayer: -vo fbdev: image displayed with an offset of 16 pixels in y direction

2010-08-26 Thread Timo Juhani Lindfors
Package: mplayer
Version: 2:1.0~rc4~try1.dsfg1-1
Severity: normal

Steps to reproduce:
1) run the tests on openmoko freerunner with no X server running
2) wget
http://lindi.iki.fi/lindi/theora/1050_Lightning_talk_Redirecting_require_rot90.ogv
3) sudo sh -c 'echo qvga-normal
/sys/devices/platform/s3c2440-i2c/i2c-adapter/i2c-0/0-0073/pcf50633-regltr.9/glamo3362.0/glamo-spi-gpio.0/spi2.0/state'
4) make sure /etc/fb.modes has
mode 240x320
   geometry 240 420 240 320 16
   timings 10 8 88 2 2 8 2
   accel false
endmode
5) sudo fbset 240x320
6) mplayer -nosound -framedrop -vo fbdev -nocorrect-pts
1050_Lightning_talk_Redirecting_require_rot90.ogv

Expected results:
6) upper left pixel of the video is shown at (0,0)

Actual results:
6) upper left pixel of the video is shown at (0,16)

http://lindi.iki.fi/lindi/theora/1050_Lightning_talk_Redirecting_require_rot90.png

More info:
1) This bug does not occur with 2:1.0~rc3++final.dfsg1-1.

2) I tried to compensate this with -geometry 0:-16 but that causes
MPlayer interrupted by signal 11 in module: filter_video.

3) This also occurs with -vo fbdev2

Bug#594093: mplayer: wrong byteorder on 16-bit displays with -vo x11 (-vo sdl works)?

2010-08-26 Thread Timo Juhani Lindfors
Reinhard Tartler siret...@tauware.de writes:
AFAIUI this requires a) arm hardare and b) an uptodate (and unpackaged)
 version of libvorbis.

Sorry for being unclear. The minimal testcase seems to be

mplayer -framedrop -ao null -vc theora -vo x11
1050_Lightning_talk_Redirecting_require.ogv

No patched libtheora is needed and no fbdev is needed either. Also, if
I use -vc fftheora the bug does not occur (but then I can not
benefit from the ARM optimizations).

I tried the above on amd64 but could not reproduce the bug.

Bug#573257: mplayer: font path error

2010-04-21 Thread Timo Juhani Lindfors
Hi,

I can reproduce the problem. If I hit o I only see | sign but no
numbers. If I do

ln -s /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ttf-dejavu/DejaVuSans.ttf .mplayer/subfont.ttf

I can see the position of the video properly again in OSD.
