Re: [PLUG] How to select best openSUSE Tumbleweed mirror?

I should add that zypper doesn't appear to have capability to pull with
multiple connections.

For my Ubuntu based distros there is this apt-fast tool on github which
helps by using multiple connections with apt.

 Hello!

I'm running openSUSE Tumbleweed and facing slow download speeds with
the default server (download.opensuse.org) on my BSNL fiber
connection. My plan speed is 300 mbps but I get only around 20-40 mbps
 range while doing zypper updates.

Reading the openSUSE wiki they say if you use the download.opensuse.org
URL it will auto select nearest/fastest mirror using MirrorBrain but doing
a nslookup with different DNS servers seems to return the SUSE owned server
 in Germany.

I manually tried setting mirrors in Yast config including India (ESTO
internet servers) but all mirrors I tried seem to be missing the "updates"
 repo.

Any suggestions? Does anyone else here use Tumbleweed and facing this
 issue?

Yep tried various mirrors to no effect.

I noticed many if not all mirrors don't have the updates/tumbleweed
subfolder so anyway it has to pull from the main server in Germany.

On top of that I see that my connection is slow to servers outside India if
using a single thread/connection but if I use multiple connections to
download say the ISO then I get full speed so my ISP's link is not helping.

Indian mirrors are fast for me but like I said the updates folder is not
available.

Anyhoo thanks for the response.

I remember, earlier most mirrors had mention of total available bandwidth
i.e. 10mbps, 100mbps, 1gbps etc.
I don't see that column on this page.
