The shell script file mplayer.sh which starts the mplayer process - should also take care of tidying up. There are statement in the script which should kill the processes. [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC: Rogue MPlayer Processes
Hi Everyone, Struggling with a slight problem with AlienBBC. When I change from listening to an Alien stream to another Alien stream, or go back to listening to my music library, the mplayer process doesn't stop running. This is causing havoc with my bandwidth and download quota. I have pasted at the bottom the output of a ps command after I have turned off the queezebox itself. I've had a small look at the Alien scripts to try and figure out where it is going wrong, but my perl is pretty limited at best. I'm running OSX 10.4.6, and everything else seems to be working fine, no garbled output, playback is great. Any help would be really, really, appreciated. Installed Slimserver 6.2.2 and the all in one execuatble installer 1.03 6.5 of AlienBBC. Hi, Installed Slimserver 6.2.2 and the all in one execuatble installer 1.03 6.5 of AlienBBC. Can play music from hard disk ok, can list BBC Radio stations but when i press play just get nothing. The test stream batch file worked fine. Softsqueeze also says its playing and web control of my Roku (Slimserver control) says is playing too. What am i doing wrong, not much help on AlientBBC online. I'll certainly run the debug logs before I try to correct anything. I was in the midst of trying to get AlienBBC installed and running when this happened. I assumed it was the AlienBBC plugin that was causing the unstable behaviour, but it was the LazySearch plugin. Not sure if installing AlienBBC caused a hiccup. On the bright side, I've finally got AlienBBC working after several failed attempts. Brute force and ignorance... >From what I recall it was hanging up at the genre portion of the lazification process. I'll recreate the issue and post a detailed log this evening. I am running the 6.2.2 version of Slimserver and the appropriate version of the plugin. Just wondering whether it's my set-up or a bug, but when I connect to a radio station that's been previously saved to favorites the now playing screen ends up showing the URL of the station instead of the saved station name. Any ideas? Is there a file that can be edited to make the Squeezebox show the station name? I think this would need to be provided by Infrant in their Slimserver build. Might be an idea to ask on the Infrant forums as well. Where is the index file stored? > > -Chris ceejay's right (of course) about the location - it's actually in the main SlimServer database, so that'll be in SQLite or MySQL depending on your setup. Clear that as you would in the normal way - as you can start the server with the plugin disabled then do that and then use the "clear database and rescan" option in the SlimServer server settings page of the web interface. I'm obviously interested in why you've got startup problems - I've not had any reports of anything so catestrophic for quite some time now. If you've not already fixed it by resetting the database could you try restarting the server with --d_plugins and seeing if there's anything useful in the server log? Also, did you change anything recently, and what combination of server and plugin versions are you running? (ie are you using the 6.5 development trunk with the plugin designed for the development trunk etc). If you've definitely got a problem then log a ticket at http://hickinbottom.demon.co.uk/lazysearch/newticket (with relevant bits of the SlimServer log attached), and I'll see what I can do about it as soon as I can. LazySearch uses the main slimserver database. If you want to remove it, delete the slimserver database and let slim re-create it.
