A slightly different package of TimeSpeller is running SC 7.1.1 (August
18th) on my DiskStation DS 106x.
Sorry for troubles, there was no further testing from my side.

As a test, please use once the download in
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51283.
Different (I suggest newer?) versions of the files MANIFEST and
META.yml were used there and the ppZxQS.PL file is renamed to
ppPZKLM.pl.

Ah, thanks. Is this because of some hook is missing in SqueezeCenter (I
remember a bug report/feature request from a while ago), or can I
suggest this as a new feature for CustomBrowse?

Best regards & thanks,

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] TimeSpeller 1.6

2008-08-20 Thread coldslabs

I've installed the TimeSpeller-1.6 plugin (I'm running 7.1), but it
fails to load:

I unzipped it to:
/var/lib/squeezecenter/Plugins/TimeSpeller

Changed the ownership recursively to squeezecenter:nogroup
Changed permissions recursively to 755
Restarted squeezecenter
When I go to Settings > Plugins, TimeSpeller is not displayed in the
list.

The zip file contains the following files:
install.xml
strings.txt
/lib/Plugins-TimeSpeller-Plugin.par

This is what appears in the log when I restart:
[08-08-20 21:22:48.3195] Slim::Utils::PluginManager::enablePlugins
(424) Skipping plugin: Plugins::TimeSpeller::Plugin - disabled

Any ideas or suggestions?

I would be willing to port it to the controller. But, I don't have a

That said, as time permits I'll look into what it takes to port to the

try slinging the code and let you test it.

Perfect! Thanks Peter!

The issue was the permissions on the heyu.x10config file. I had looked
at the output from running:

/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/PowerCenter/bin/heyu info

And it says that the config file is at /etc/heyu/x10.conf

I changed the permissions on
var/lib/squeezecenter/cache/PowerCenter/heyu.x10config as you said & it
works fine now.

Now I can save my Electicity bill a couple of hundred watts of amp
standby 24/7! May need to arrange more heating for the Drawing room
this winter tho!

Cheers

Not unless you want to do some programming (SS has an API that would
allow what you want, but AFAIK nobody is using it that way). :-) You'd
have to do something like press "2" to show DateTime, and then "1" or
"0" to go back to Analog VU (assuming 1 is Analog VU with a time set, 2
is DateTime "manual", and 3-9 are also "manual".

Quick notes (I'm in a hurry, sorry): You're using bin/heyu from PC, so
the /etc config file is not used --
var/lib/squeezecenter/cache/PowerCenter/heyu.x10config is. Make sure
you don't have any heyu apps running ('ps -fe | grep heyu') -- by
default, heyu spawns a long-running heyu_relay (?) app. Make sure the
directories named SPOOL_DIR and LOCK_DIR in
var/lib/squeezecenter/cache/PowerCenter/heyu.x10config are usable by
the SC7 user (if in doubt, delete them -- PC/SC7 should be able to
recreate them)

It is compatible; it's just that when I released the beta version, I configured
the install.xml file to indicate that it was compatible with the latest version
of SqueezeCenter that was available at that time.

You can open up the install.xml file in a file editor and change the maxVersion
to *, and then SC will allow it to run.

probably not your issue, but this happened to me. I had two
radios registered to my XM account. I cancelled the original one
because I sold it. At the end of the month that I had cancelled it in,
my XM stopped working on the Squeeze Box. Turns out that the SC plugin
one of your registered XM radios identities. If you cancel that radio
with XM it doesn't automatically re-register to your other radio(s).
Drove me nuts for a while. Like I said, it's probably not your issue,

2 file folders (_MACOSX and iPeng) and two blank page document types of
the same name; I hit the 'Extract all files' button; browse to
'C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins' as the directions
dictate; a window pops up called 'copy file' informing me that 'There
is already a file with the same name as the folder name you specified.
Specify a different name.' It goes on to show a blank page type similar
to the one in the zipped folder titled iPeng, Type: File, Size 0 bytes,
Date modified: 7/21/2008 4:26 AM; my choices are to: 'Try Again' (in
which case the same widow just blinks), 'Skip' (in which case the two
document types - which can't be opened - gets placed in the pluggins
folder), or 'cancel' (the iPeng document type gets place in the Plugins

Needless to say I have tried this several times, making sure I don't

There is a custom keymap bind you can associate to a key to show the clock
briefly. I used to have this assigned to nowplaying.hold.

Unfortunately, I lost the line, and can't remember how to do it.

These days, I use the MusicInfoScreensaver, configured to permanently display

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Home automation & Squeezebox Duet

2008-08-20 Thread mustbemad

Hm

I'm a little behind Patrick here, and as my Linux knowledge has been
built on a need to know basis I'm a bit stuck...

I'm running Debian Linux and have managed to get the CM11 & x10
switches working from the command line, but cant get it working from
the squeezebox remote side of things.

So far I have:

-created /ect/heyu
-put the x10.conf file there
-made it read & writable by any user
-added the Squeezecenter user to the dialout group
-changed permissions on ttyS0 to allow access to anyone
-changed the config in the SC web interface to point to the same path
that works from the shell
(/usr/share/squeezecenter/Plugins/PowerCenter/bin/heyu)

But I'm still not having any joy:(

Heyu_relay is running, but beyond this, I don't fully understand what
else to try. Also - I would imagine there's stuff that needs to be
changed to make it all work after a restart - (which I have tried) -
like permanent permissions on the serial port, though that does not
appear to be the issue now as far as I can see...

Any more pointers you guys can give me?

Thanks

This looks cool. I'm always amazed that there are so many good plugins
that I've never seen. I'm going to give it a try, thanks for pointing it
out.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: New versions of erlands plugins

2008-08-20 Thread Rik

Yesterday I installed the new versions of Erlands plugins (a.o.
CustomBrowse and CustomScan). I have some custom fields in my mp3 files
which are being shown with the track info on the webinterface and on my
squeezebox. However, I did not manage to show them on my controller
when I look at the track info.

Is it possible to show custom fields in the track info? Did I miss
something?

Thanks,

Rik

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Is there a plugin to briefly display clock while playing?

2008-08-20 Thread Apesbrain

Looking for a way to re-map a remote button, e.g. first press on
"Sleep", to cause the clock to display for a few seconds. Thanks.

Has anyone tried this using iSSH, now that it's available on the
AppStore? I use Softsqueeze remotely, and have used OpenSSH at home to
open port 22 securely, but am not clear on how to use iSSH with iPeng.
Reason for doing so is purely to avoid having to reset the address
every time my server's IP changes (power outages, etc.), but rather to
point iPeng to my DynDNS-created address. If there's a better way to
do this than through SSH, would also be glad to hear of that.

iPeng is FANTASTIC, by the way--great job on this; would gladly pay for
it.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC addon to read iPlayer menus

2008-08-20 Thread whitman

Bpa, thanks for explanation of perl pages etc. Understood (I think).

I've now had a good look just at the iPlayer menu of the latest Addon
for 1.0.6/6.5, and here's some feedback as requested.

The first two menu items, Radio 1 Listen Again and Radio 1 Xtra Listen
Again, I don't use.

Radio 2 Listen Again goes to All BBC Radio 2 Page 2, which leads to
shows L-S only, then All BBC Radio 2 Page 3, which leads to the same
set, and then shows A-K only. So shows S-Z missing from this set of
menus.

Radio 3 Listen Again goes to All BBC Radio 3 Page 2, which leads to
shows N-W only, and then shows A-L, so this set of menus seems to
include everything.

Radio 4 Listen Again goes to All BBC Radio 4 Pages 2-6, which all lead
to the same set of shows, B-F. Then shows A-B. So shows G-Z missing
from this set of menus.

Radio 5 Listen Again next, but I don't use it.

Radio 6 Music Listen Again goes to All BBC Radio 6 Music Page 2, which
leads to shows M-T, and then shows A-M. So shows T-Z missing from this
set of menus.

BBC7 Listen Again goes to All BBC7 Pages 2-4, which all lead to the
same set of shows, C-J. Then shows A-C. So shows K-Z missing from this
set of menus.

Then a few more stations I don't use, then genre headings, which I also
don't use, then A programmes, B programmes etc through Z and numerals -
which seems the best way with this version to get to a show not on the
lists above (assuming you know the title).

So, it's patchy, but you can sort of get around it - and I guess it's
all still down to how the BBC 'organise' (ha ha) this info at present.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] [Announce] iPeng 0.5 for iPhone / 3G / iPod Touch 2.0

2008-08-20 Thread bma

I'm not sure this is the appropiate thread to post my question, but here
I go.

I have Squeezecenter 7.1 installed on a HP Mediasmart server running
WHS. iPeng (0.5.1) was installed to directory:

C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins

I've setup the IPeng configuration in Squeezecenter to point to
directory:

C:\Program Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\iPeng\Configuration

My music library currently contains a directory with one album
containing 13 MP3's and 2 cover files (.PNG / .JPG) for testing
purposes.

The initial iPeng comes up on the iTouch in about 2 minutes. The now
playing screen does come up empty after about 3 minutes. The other
screens come up quickly with title "Untitled".

I get the same results on my home machine (XP SP3) using safari
browser.

Any ideas on what I need to correct?

Thanks,
Bruno Magnani

Opps, sorry. Insulted another Linux user :-) Ignore my post and good
luck. I know with Windows, it was hard to get going.

They are 3 text files which have Perl code. Perl code is interpreted
and so the files are not immediately executable.

The 3 text (.pm) files have to be in in their own folder
AlieniPlayerMenu in Plugins/Alien/AlienAddon.

downloaded files?)
