[SlimDevices: Plugins] SlimNas installation on Compact Flash

2008-11-27 Thread metalwarrior

Hi,

I've just installed FreeNAS on a HP T5720 on a CompactFlash 512MB.

I'd like to install SlimNAS on the Compact Flash, and I'll store my
music files on an external USB drive.

Can anyone please tell me how to proceed to install SlimNAS on the CF
only ?
What directory should I set for the installation ?
Is there a particular configuration ?

Thx in advance,
Cheers,
Yann

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Help: Problem with Max Spicer's OtherPlayers Plugin

2008-11-27 Thread indifference_engine

Hi All, I've recently got my hands on a Duet and am loving it but I'm
having a few problems with the OtherPlayers plugin. I have managed to
install it and the option shows in the duet controller menu. I can
select the Other Players menu item and get presented with a list of my
squeezecenter clients. However, when I select one of these the
controller just does nothing. The egg-timer thing just rotates
slowly and forever. pressing back or home takes me out of the menu so
I know the controller hasn't frozen completely. Am I doing something
wrong? Is there a problem with the plugin? Is it not compatible with my
setup?

I'm using a recent build of Squeezecenter 7.3 on Windows 2003 SBS
My music clients are: 1 Duet Receiver, 1 Duet Controller, 1
Squeezeslave

In the meantime I'm using GrabPlaylist which does work but I like the
sound of OtherPlayers more (no offence Eric).

thanks,
Doug

[SlimDevices: Plugins] IPENG Problems

2008-11-27 Thread Sunra55

Hi. I'm hoping someone can help me with IPENG. I was really excited
when I first read about it but I've spent hours trying to make it work
to no avail.

No matter what I do it says: No player connected.

I've tried to add the server manually and it doesn't recognize the
player. I've flushed the cache but it did no good. I also downloaded
two different version of IPENG and made sure it was extracted to the
proper Plugin directory on my Mac. The SqueezeBox player is working on
my stereo and on my mac. I feel like I just wasted dough on this
app...not very happy. Anyway, anyone that might lend a hand please let
me know.

Thanks,
Nick

Info: Mac OSX 10.5.5,

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] IPENG Problems

2008-11-27 Thread pippin

So the Squeezebox plyer is connected to the mac?
Are you sure it is not connected to SqueezeNetwork?
What happens when you open up the SqueezeCenter Web interface (through
yourmac:9000)?
Did iPeng find the server? You know that when you can actually browse
the library (you don't need a player for that).
Is the server (your mac) on the same subnet as your iPhone? If not,
iPeng cannot automatically detect the server and you have to enter the
server's address manually (through settings).

We'll get this sorted out!

Hi there. Thanks for the quick reply. Here are some answers to your

I can access and control the Squeezebox via softqueeze or
squeezecenter. I can control the Squeezebox witht the slim device

IPENG doesn't find the server even if I enter it manually within IPENG
settings.

Regarding the subnet for Iphone, I'm sorry but I can't seem to find the
settings to find this info.

Thanks,

You don't need any plugins to run the iPeng application on the iPhone.
Having said that, it won't stop the application from working.

You need to make sure the phone has a connection to your wireless
network and has got a valid IP address. Tap Settings, Wi-Fi. You should
see your wireless network's name listed with a tick next to it. Tap the
Right-Arrow icon to the right of this and look at the IP address. Going
by what you posted it should look something like 10.0.1.xxx

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spicefly SugarCube (Automatic MusicIP DJ)

2008-11-27 Thread robroe

Hi,

I've just recently installed SugarCube (and the dynamic playlist
hotfix) and I am really impressed.

One thing (I hope this hasn't been asked before but I couldn't find it)
is it possible to add this as a mixer? It would be really cool to be
able to start SugarCube from any track by using the press and hold play
functionality. I was wondering whether this wasn't possible due to the
way that SqueezeCenter works, but as the dynamic playlist can take the
currently playing song as the seed I was wondering whether it is
possible after all?

Thanks

In the past, it was possible to search stations via remote and the

to genres starts with 'r'. Now it is Number 777.

Can you pls. give a comment on that topic. Will it sometimes behave

Make sure you have your sort order set to alphabetical if you want to

I'd like that feature too.

I guess it would be a better way to navigating to a song, pressing play, then
navigating to the Now Playing screen and using the SugarCube Dynamic Playlist
mixer, which would then start a mix from the currently playing track.

Does that need to be a function of SugarCube, to allow a song/album/artist
parameter to be passed into the dynamic playlist that it provides?

The plugin works but only if installed manually into c:\program

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Moose 0.69 (win frontend)

2008-11-27 Thread indifference_engine

Hi, firstly I must say that I LOVE Moose, the cover art chooser is just
so cool! However, In line with a couple of people in this thread I have
noticed that the art chooser orders by Artist (TPE1) rather than Album
Artist (TPE2) which I think would be more sensible when viewing albums.
Moreover, it appears to be a bit random as to which track's artist it
decides to use for the album if there are track by different artists on
the album.

Regarding SSH, I have used Moose squeezeslave over a PPTP VPN (is
that similar? Windows user alert!) and it works well with no dropout
although there is a bit of a delay due to caching but I consider that
the lesser of the two evils and is probably unavoidable. Due to the
local db the interface is instant whereas I can get a bit of a lag
using the web UI. The only downside is rebuilding the db and art cache
can be slow but it doesn't have to be done that often so isn't a huge
problem for me.

Regards,
Doug
