Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
As a guideline - I don't like BBC pages which have numbers at the very end as they change often which means it would be better to have a highler level screen to start the process - which would means even more screen scraping. You could ask BBC to put live commentaries in a RSS feed ? -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
Thanks for looking at this both. The BBC's addressing structure for these commentaries seems erratic and an RSS feed would be much preferred. I notice that this (other) page now has a scrape-able set of URL's even though the commentaries aren't live at the moment. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/counties/7992843.stm But the whole thing seems a bit arbitrary and not well structured. As a matter of interest what is the .stm suffix? -- ian_heys ian_heys's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2629 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with Music Info & Title Switcher
Thanks again for your help. In playing around with options today, I could not get alternate info on the screens where I wanted it, nor, actually, get rid of stuff I tried out yesterday. This on both Booms and Softsqueeze. It seems that the only item easily manipulated is the lower left item; the rest seem to sometimes change/work or sometimes the new info when entered and applied is ignored. I think I will be sastified with 'defaults' for now. thanks! -- pbroughton pbroughton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=30993 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78944 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)
I looked at the live commentaries page earlier today - I think it would have to be screen scraper as I couldn't find any RSS or similar feeds that showed the commentaries. If screen scraping is done then I think the mobile page ( http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/mobile/cricket/default.stm ) would be the starting point as it is simpler. The feed that Extras could use just has old saved commentaries not live. http://feeds.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/categories/sport/cricket/radio/list -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Ian - don't know - there's no live comentaries now so don't know what it looks like. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] SqueezeControl for Android announcement and support thread
A big thank you for this great app! Also working well on HTC Desire with SqueezeServer Version: 7.5.0 - r30464. Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8 Platform Architecture: i686-linux Perl Version: 5.10.1 - i486-linux-gnu-thread-multi MySQL Version: 5.1.41-3ubuntu12 Four players all recognised and being controlled: 2x Squeezebox Classic 1x Duet Receiver 1x SqueezePlay I've read through all the posts and would agree with the following (plus a couple of thoughts of my own): * 'tab at the side' browsing of long lists would be excellent * a volume control like the Controller (for visual feedback) * a preferences setting for where the files are downloaded * (mentioned before) menu\save to phone saves the file with .null as the extension. (although download after long press works fine) * better download notification - percentage ? More evident 'download complete notification ? * after keyboard search, closing the keyboard doesn't close the search string overlay - so that the results are obscured. (I realise the back button on the phone makes it disappear but it seems an unnecessary additional button press) * and the killer feature: streaming functionality on 3G (Yes please!) Would all this need at the client end be to route incoming traffic to the wifi router to the server IP (on Port 9000) ? If so why is it not yet possible? Has anyone tried this and can give instruction? I'm probably not a good enough programmer to get involved directly but am more than happy to bug test, etc. Would be happy to rework some of the UI graphic elements elements too. I'm not 100% convinced about the green icons (but I guess that's down to personal taste!). Just say if you need help with anything. I've already achieved the equivalent by configuring filters in MusicIP, which is probably easier/more configurable for people? i.e. Trackstat passes ratings into MusicIP, and a filter can be set up to only include songs that are 3* or greater, then play a SugarCube mix selecting the relevent filter. ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

The scaling code wasn't optimized for the ARM processor so it didn't work when it was required to scale the video due to performance problems. However, the main problem is that Squeezeplay have exclusive access to the audio device, so you need to shutdown Squeezeplay to make it work. It's probably possible to get around this but hardly unless someone wants to dive into the SqueezePlay C-code or Logitech is interested in doing it. -- erland Erland Isaksson 'My homepage' (http://erland.isaksson.info) (Install my plugins through Extension Downloader) (Developer of 'TrackStat, SQLPlayList, DynamicPlayList, Custom Browse, Custom Scan, Custom Skip, Multi Library, Title Switcher and Database Query plugins' (http://wiki.erland.isaksson.info/index.php/Category:SlimServer)) erland's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3124 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78956 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spicefly SugarCube 2.5 - Taking MusicIP up a notch
Hi all, Just a quick heads-up for those that may be new to Squeezebox or MusicIP. SugarCube version 2.5 has been released with its main new feature being integration with TrackStat. Overview below, further information can be found on the website, including MusicIP installation guides. (Obviously MusicIP needs to be installed first!) For coherence please use this thread for constructive feedback, feature requests, support issues etc, and not any of the old threads. INSTALLATION IS VIA THE REPOSITORY LINK OR DIRECT LINK FROM THE WEBSITE. Cheers OVERVIEW SPICEFLY SUGARCUBE IS A PLUGIN WRITTEN TO ACHIEVE MY DESIRE FOR SQUEEZEBOX AND MUSICIP TO WORK BETWEEN THEMSELVES AND PLAY MUSIC, NONSTOP WITH NO HASSLE AND NO ANNOYING PLAYLISTS! SUGARCUBE USES THE GREAT MUSICIP PRODUCT BUT HAS A NUMBER OF CUSTOM WRITTEN FUNCTIONS TO TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL, ALLOWING YOU TO DRIFT THROUGH YOUR MUSIC LIBRARY AND DISCOVER THOSE GREAT TRACKS YOU FORGOT YOU HAD, OFFERING FAR GREATER FUNCTIONALITY THAN THE OFFICIAL SQUEEZEBOX MUSICIP PLUGIN. *HOW IT WORKS* JUST PICK A SINGLE TRACK, ARTIST OR GENRE TO PLAY FROM YOUR LIBRARY AND THE JOURNEY BEGINS! WHILE THAT TRACK IS PLAYING, SUGARCUBE USES IT WITH MUSICIP TO SELECT A TRACK THAT IS SIMILAR TO THE PLAYING TRACK (BASED ON SPECIFIED CRITERIA). SUGARCUBE THEN TWEAKS THE RESULT FURTHER TO QUEUE UP THE NEXT TRACK WHICH MATCHES YOUR CRITERIA. ONCE THE FIRST TRACK ENDS, THE SECOND TRACK IS NOW YOUR SEED TRACK AND THE PROCESS CONTINUES, ON AND ON! YOU WILL FIND YOU DRIFT THROUGH YOUR MUSIC LIBRARY WITHOUT ALL THE HASSLE OF PLAYLISTS OR LOTS OF KEY PRESSING AND YOU NEVER EXPERIENCE THE SAME PLAYLIST. MAIN FEATURES LIST * Seed by Song, Album, Artist, Genre, Recipe or Filter. * Restrict Mixing to the Genre of the Seed Track * Vary the Style and Variety of the mix on the fly from the player or web interface. * Schedule based Filter mixing, to enable changes in musical taste throughout the day. * Completely player based so SugarCube can be switched on/off and run completely independently on multiple devices, this includes mix and style. So each player can be playing completely different styles of music at the same time. * Sleep mode and Volume Fade to assist with a restful nights sleep. * "Replace Next Track" in the Playlist menu for Jive based players, if you don’t like the upcoming track, simply replace it from the playlist menu without having to stop the music. * Utilises TrackStat (if installed) to enable greater control of the music selection. Block tracks under a certain rating level. Prefer tracks with a Low or High Playcount or Recently/Least Played and High or Low Ratings. Ensure you dont always hear the same tracks. * Custom written Weighting routines, to block tracks that “look” similar to the current playing track. This feature looks at the current playing track and compares it against the recommended next track and analyses it to try and determine whether it is the "same" track or a remix version of it. (MusicIP has a habit of returning remix versions of the seed track as they are obviously very similar.) * Block a Genre. Make sure Christmas tracks dont play in June! * Block Artist Repeating for a specified number of Tracks, to ensure variety. * Block a Specified Artist Option if you don’t want to hear a specified Artist. * Display Coming up Next, showing the next track in the playlist. * Will remember played tracks between sessions, ie. if you power off and resume later. * Dynamic timeout to the Web Interface Player preference loading page, ie. if MIP is not running it will wait less time while drawing the web page. * Warning in the Web interface, if the player is part of a sync group but is not the master. The master of a sync group drives the show and therefore only its settings apply, this warns you that you are wasting your time making changes when its a slave player. * Auto Toggle of the Squeezebox Play "Only Song / Play Directory" when SugarCube is Enabled/Disabled. * Custom written encoding routines to improve resilience. * Stay quiet and don’t try to mix if the playing track is .asx, rtmp, pandora, slacker, lastfm, live365, mediafly and Sound Effects streaming content * Technical View which is mainly for use on the SB3, it denotes whether the current playing track has cover artwork embedded or folder based and Replaygain Track/Album are set. * Works completely independently of the Squeezebox official MusicIP plugin, so does not require it to be setup or installed. This saves time as you don’t need a Squeezebox MusicIP rescan when updating your library and enables the two environments to be separated. -- cparker www.spicefly.com - Spicefly SugarCube - Taking Squeezebox and MusicIP to the next level.
