Again the selftest streamed fine to the player (unfortunately the one

[SlimDevices: Plugins] KidsPlay - trouble playing playlist

2012-01-03 Thread soulgazer

I've setup a KidsPlay macro (Radio preset buton) to start playing a
specific playlist, but the playlist isn't played. Setup based on the
example on the plugins page.
I'm also using a macro for genre playing, which is working perfectly.

The playlist is created using the LMS (or actually through iPeng) and
stored in the default playlist folder. A favourite has previously been
assigned to the preset button in question.
When executed it looks like at least some of the macro is run - namely
the part clearing the active playlist, so it may be that it's only
related to the playlist parsing. At this point i just have the name of
the playlist...

Does the macro need to point to the full path of the playlist or is it
OK to use only the name (as the example seems to indicate).

Any help will be much appreciated.

if a full clear rescan scan is performed it does the scan and then
empties the library, meaning that after an hour and a half of scanning
(I've got a lot of MP3s) the scan says it has complete yet it has
handily emptied my library after finding everything.

That's exactly what experience. It's very sad, that this bug (17471)
won't be fixed, so we're stuck with SBS 7.6.0.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2012-01-03 Thread markschu

Hello,

First of all, I really like triode's spotify plugin. And very much the
last.fm integration and recent albums/artist lists. Last.fm could maybe
be made with the same functions as the app in Spotify on Windows. Still
the plugin is much better than the original by logitech.

but:
I recently bought a secondhand duet. Now I have about the same problem
with the Triode Spotify plugin on my Duet, while it works great on my
SB Radio. My problem-description:

1.I power up my duet
2.I play a song or album with triode's spotify plugin
3.After five to fifteen seconds playing it starts rebuffering and
skipping songs
4.I pause the player
5.I wait a few minutes
6.I start the song and album again
7.It keeps playing and playing like nothings wrong
8.I never power down again because if I do: return to 1.

I have a problem like this when I power down my SBRadio without
shutting it down (simple unplug). After restarting the radio everything
works fine accept spotify. After restarting the radio with the
power-button spotify works again.

Is there a workaround for a problem like this or do you need a log?

Thanks in advance!

The player should be the one selected when you entered settings - looks
like I will need to make this an option.

As for getting rebuffering and no results in real use - was the
streaming with the test ok, it should measure the streaming rate over
an entire track and indicate that it can stream ok. Try doing the test
with your main player selected and see what it says/sounds like? There
are normally two causes of streaming problems - problems at the spotify
end and problems with your the internet service. You can try to
continue streaming for a while for the first one as the plugin will try
to move servers to find one which is not congested. However I would
expect the test to say it was not streaming ok.

+1 on the gapless playback feature. It's been quite some time since

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Squeezeslave on Squeezeplug cannot connect to different server

2012-01-03 Thread ElEsido

Hello!

Running Squeezeplug with Squeezebox Server 7.6.1 and Squeezeslave
1.2-311 on a Goflex Net wired to a Time Capsule, and a Powerbook with
OS X 10.5 and Logitech media Server 7.7.1 r33735 connected wirelessly
to the same Time Capsule. I want squeezelsave on the Goflex to listen
to the server on the Powerbook.

Squeezeslave can see both servers:

Code:

root@squeezeplug:~#squeezeslave --findservers
  squeezeplug:9000 (192.168.1.11)
  powerbook:9000 (192.168.1.6)

However i can not get squeezeslave to listen to the media server on the
powerbook. On the Plug's squeezeserver gui when I choose Main Menu -
Extras - Music Source - Powerbook I get redirected to the web gui of
the powerbook's media server
(http://192.168.1.6:9000/?player=00%3A00%3A00%3A00%3A00%3A01) but I
cannot choose squeezeslave as player.

Killing and restarting squeezeslave with the IP argument works fine.
Code:

root@squeezeplug:~# squeezeslave 192.168.1.6

Is there a way to choose the server / music source from the web gui?

Thanks!
ElEsido

I believe the Logitech support of Spotify will allow this - it will
allow streaming to different devices at the same time. (Can someone

In the prefs-library tab, there's a 'cache folder' entry. You can put
a full path to where you want the thumbnail folder to be.
The 'Moo file' entry in the scanning tab can also be a full path if you want.

Hope that helps,

I suspect the issue is a spotify server which is congested - when you
play something the the plugin rebuffers it will try to move to a new

Strange - looks like the first time the first player connects it claims
to be the id of the other player. Do you have hany network devices
(nat) between the players and the server?

I have two players on a Qnap ts 110 hooked by a wire on a linksys wrt
54g as a router:
the sb Radio (works fine with plugin after a few interruptions)
the sb Duet (has startup-problems)

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: BBCiPlayer Plugin (UK only)

2012-01-03 Thread danco

I am getting a lot of

Can't resolve IP address for ww.bbc.co.uk

at the moment, and am wondering about the cause, and what I should do
about it.

I am busy with a large online backup, and it would not surprise me if
that is preventing Logitech Media Server getting to my ISP quickly
enough.

Is that likely to be the cause, and if so would increasing the radio
station timeout (currently 35 seconds) cure it?

Assume you mean www.bbc.co.uk? I'm not sure if setting the timeout
longer would mean it makes more retries - worth trying.
