Have you tried playing the same track in say player.qobuz.com? Would
help determine whether it is an issue with the plugin or Qobuz itself.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)

2013-02-28 Thread ashleyw

Spotify plugin in combination with SqueezeLite working brilliantly!
And now my next question... Pandora has recently become available in NZ.
I got all excited as I enjoy listening to Pandora with my kids around
because it has an explicit language filter. I grabbed a premium account
on the understanding I'd be able to push it through a bunch of
squeezelite clients.
Strange thing is that the pandora app only appears when I set my country
to be US in the mysqueezebox.com site, but no music comes through then
(presumably because my real country code is different). If I leave my
country as NZ, the Pandora app doesn't even appear in the list - which
is strange as it has officially launched over here a couple of months
ago.

Triode, have you any plans to work your magic to create a Pandora plugin
that can run without mysqueezebox.com? This would be the final missing
piece for me (apart from an android client of the brilliant
SqueezeLite!).

me bad..Got it all working perfectly via mysqueezebox.com - just needed
to set the country code up to US in the mysqueezebox settings for the
Pandora app to appear, and reason I had no sound on the squeezelite
clients was that I forgot to put the file libmpg123-0.dll into the
squeezelite folder.. doh!

Triode, it would still be great if you could create a 3rd party Pandora
plugin so we wouldn't have to rely on mysqueezebox.com (in case it's
turned off in future).

an issue with qobuz.

I have slim hopes that this is a plug-in problem. To anybody who wants

that some tracks skip and in if you look at plugin log then you will see

Hi had been using the app on my phone for long and liked it. I was
waiting for it to come to my Surface. Thanks again a lot.
I faced no connection issues.
Nevertheless, I still have about one third of albums not showing covers,
while same albums appear great on the Windows Phone app.

I also have a personal dream: would it be possible to implement a
Composer button next to Artist ? For all those out there using their
Squeeze Box for Classical music, that would make it a killer feature.

Thanks again for this new app.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread

2013-02-28 Thread pippin

It happened today.
And there was quite a bit of luck involved. I found out how you can
bundle arm6 builds for the old devices with Appz built with Apple's
current toolkit and the original plan was to just bundle iPeng 1.6.1 for
the old devices with a current version.

That left me with a problem, though: I would also have to support iOS
4.3 on new devices. It might only be a few users but delivering a
crashing App to them wasn't really an option.
This is where I got lucky. While a lot of the iPeng 2.0 eye candy
depends on iOS 5 it turned out that just taking everything out that's
not supported in iOS 4 is not too bad and works for most features. After
all, iPeng originally dates back to iOS 2 times

So in the end I found that by disabling some of the eye candy and a few
UI features I could just compile the current version for iOS 4.

As I said: a lot of luck involved here

This looks like a timeout (and the error XMLHttpRequest: Network Error
0x2ee2 also points into this direction - it seems to be a network
timeout). I'd guess that either your network is unstable (unlikely), or
that your server is too slow. Do you think that's a possibility?
I've increased the timeouts for various things in the next version,
maybe this will help.

I've seen failure of the top expand button on (intermittently) Chrome

Safari: once collapsed, I could no longer correctly expand the panel any

more. It would expand, but stay empty. Once in that state Safari would
 use
about 30% CPU, Chrome Opera 20%.

Never happened to me with Chromium (v24), but I've seen this on Firefox
(which sometimes randomly actually displays the app, but mostly not).
Unfortunately, this is a built-in functionality of Ext4, so I'm not
quite sure what to do about it.

mherger wrote:

My question was mostly about pure JSON vs. JSONP. IMHO using JSON only
 is
much simpler than JSONP. The latter has been developed to work around
cross origin resource sharing limitations, but has its limitations
 (though
probably not a problem if you have full control over the server side).

Well, basically I have no clue so I just took one method. In Ext4, there
really is no difference, just using one proxy or the other.

mherger wrote:

I do understand that shifting some of the heavy work (database queries)

results in better performance when done on the server. But in some cases

I'd be careful as you will have to re-implement a lot of the logic of
 what
has already been done elsewhere, just to make sure you don't break the

logic the user is used to. Eg. when is a track to be considered a track
 by
a given artist. What roles does this artist need to have etc.

Well, I maybe have to review this for some cases. In general, I'd be
happy to use the existing functionality - but sometimes, it's seems to
be too restrictive or slow for what I'm trying to do. As I said, it also
might be the case that I'm not aware of it.
