However, it seems to me that Spotify is phasing out the Starred Tracks feature in favour of the Your Music/Saved Music functionality. So my guess is that that is the problem rather than Triodes plugin. Personally I would love to see support for the Your Music functionality in the plugin. It is essentially the same as Starred Tracks only the music in Your Music is presented more like a library/collection/(database) than just a playlist, and is thus much easier to browse. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
I am having a lot of problems with iPeng 7 crashing on my iPhone 5. More or less randomly the app will simply close it self and I will need to relaunch it. Sometimes it only crashes to the first screen of iPeng, so no relaunch is required but it jumps out of whatever menu I am at. This particularly seems to happen when using Triodes Spotify plugin (although that might just be because that is what I am mostly using). It is very annoying when browsing music deep in some menu to be snapped all the way back to the beginning. I sent a whole bunch of crash reports from the app, but I just wanted to know if there is anything I can do myself to make this stop/less frequent? Ooohhh. Thanks for contacting me!!! I knew from crash reports that iPeng 7 was having these issues for some people, but literally nobody was ever contacting me beyond sending crash reports and none of my beta testers seem to have the issue (that's not entirely true, one recent tester has it but for various reasons wasn't able to test a fix, yet). This made it very hard to fix since it wasn't reproducible. It's a messy situation around memory management. Apple introduced a new memory management model, actually already several years ago (with iOS 5). Since iPeng consists of several 100.000 lines of code I was never courageous enough to convert to it even though there is an automatic converter. For iPeng 7 I finally did the switch and it brought with it this problem. I do actually think I have a fix. A recent change made it somewhat more reproducible and I actually found a petty obscure issue that created the effect, indeed. Would you be willing to test the fix? If yes, could you send me a diagnostics mail from within iPeng? Just tap the mail link under Help. When we know whether the fix works I'm going to tell you a bit more about it since I'm pretty convinced that it's also related to the rest of your setup and that will probably cause other issues for you, too, but I want to know whether my fix works first :) One thing... I didn't understand this part of your description: Guut_Boy wrote: Sometimes it only crashes to the first screen of iPeng, so no relaunch is required but it jumps out of whatever menu I am at. The top four items in the menu will be used for the tabs. Using the Edit button in the main menu you can configure the whole main menu. This is one of the main new features of iPeng 7 compared to the older iPeng Classic. And there were actually only _two_ primary drivers for that feature: one was to be able to use CustomBrowse menus to replace original menus and the other one was to be able to move Triode's Spotify plugin to the tab bar... I first thought this is some kind of iPeng quirk until I realized that when this happens the same broken image gets delivered to other devices, too, so it's definitely related to the artwork cache on the server. I believe it has to do with artwork resizing and caching because only resized artwork is usually affected. So when this happens usually iPeng and SqueezePad and the Touch or Radio get a broken artwork while the Web Interface, the Logi App and OrangeSqueeze might still show a correct copy. Looks like it depends on the scaling parameters, doesn't look like it's the size itself since I'm getting the same quirky artwork on iPeng on iPhone and iPad which use different artwork sized plus I get the same artwork for thumbnails and full-scale images. I'm using 7.8, release build. Have you seen this, too? So my guess is that that is the problem rather than Triodes plugin. Personally I would love to see support for the Your Music functionality in the plugin. It is essentially the same as Starred Tracks only the music in Your Music is presented more like a library/collection/(database) than just a playlist, and is thus much easier to browse. There is no current support from spotify for this I am afraid - so the plugin can't do it!
