garym wrote: I have three vortexbox servers, two capable of ripping CDs. But I don't use the VBs for ripping. All my ripping is with dbpoweramp and I've ripped about 5,000 CDs with dbpa. A key issue for me is the ability of a ripper to match a rip back to the ACCURATERIP database (AR).** EAC, dbpa, cuetools, and maybe a few others can access and submit back to AR. VB ripper does not use. This alone is enough for me to use dbpa for ripping. But dbpa also has excellent metadata perfectmeta where it uses 4 or 5 different sources and then tries to give you the most consistent metadata for that rip. The artwork finder is also excellent. I rip to FLAC with dbpa, do any tag finetuning with mp3tag, and then move files over to my VB server across my network. I also create a mirror of mp3 lossy files from the FLAC files with dbpa converter for use in my iThings. Very easy to do, and dbpa converter preserves all tags, artwork, directory structure, etc. **for those that don't know, AccurateRip is a system (developed by the creator of dbpoweramp) that captures the data from millions of ripped CDs (the CRCs, etc. from the rips). So when you rip a CD, it compares the data from your rip back to the perhaps thousands of other people who ripped the same CD title, but a different physical copy, on a different computer with a different drive. If one's rip matches that information, there is no better guarantee that you have in fact achieved a bitperfect rip yourself. Note that a new tool, PerfectTunes (by the maker of dbpa) will do after the fact checks of your lossless rips back to the accuraterip database. It will also help you fix low quality artwork. http://www.accuraterip.com/ Daphile supports accuraterip and drive offsets. Have you looked at the user guide? There are specific values for Sonos mentioned (the first system used was a Sonos), particularly for the stream_length parameters, and you may also want to check the different ways of setting the volume control. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)
@maynard999: I played around with my DAC to get the crossfeed and lowpassfilter working. But I rather can hear a big difference when adjusting its values. What you can actually do to test the crossfeed setting with your DAC: adjust the part of the /etc/asound.conf file where the headphonesplug is defined to make it use your DAC (hw:1,0) instead: Code: pcm.headphonesplug { type plug #Outcomment this: slave.pcm dmix:CARD=0,RATE=44100 slave.pcm hw:1,0 #OR use this one # slave.pcm dmix:1,0 } After you have made the changes you have to restart squeezelite and you need to tell squeezelite to use the headphones-output (which isn't the headphones jack anymore). If you can actually hear the differences I'll add a setup part for this to the webinterface. 2 x Max2Play on ODROID U2/U3 with LMS, Squeezelite, Shairport, XBMC 1 x Squeezebox Receiver 1 x Denon 1713 AVR + Nubert 5.1 System iPeng Max2Play-Image for ODROID: http://shop.max2play.com/de/image-max2play flysurfer's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=61064 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101856 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
I am trying to load 3rd party plugin triode 2.3.9 on LMS 7.7.5 running on Odroid U3, using Max2play package. I have a spotify premium account and had this running on a previous installation. When I select enable on the plug in, LMS comes up with a reboot button. I reboot and it does not take - enable is still unchecked. Also the Settings link never comes up. I tried with and without the official spotify plugin enabled. Spotify runs fine on a PC on the same network, so I think there are no firewall problems. It just seems that the plugin won't load. davidcarroll's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=63827 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=79706 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

In the UK the Fire TV is c£70. If you add the price of a raspberry Pi, case, power cable, SD card and a cheap USB DAC eg Behringer UAC 202 it's about the same. I'd say the Fire is a fair bit superior hardware wise albeit you can't run LMS on it only SB Player. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: SuperDateTime - Current Date/Temperature and/or Baseball Screensaver
Yep - I fact I've tried unchecking both of those boxes without success. I should point out that, although LMS reports that plugin updates are available, when I get to the plugin screen there are no plugins that appear to be requesting an update - but I immediately see the pop up dialog box asking me to reboot (or defer until later). I can workaround the problem by selecting reboot later, but the prompt persists everything I go to the plugin screen. And I i restart the server (via Preferences, etc) SDT is deleted. [SlimDevices: Plugins] New plugin for audio bookmarks
There is already a plugin for Bookmarks from KDF (http://code.google.com/p/kdfplugins/downloads/list) , but this is unmaintained now for a couple of years and doesn't work on newer players (i. e. Radio or Touch). I always wanted a feature like this because i listen a lot to radio dramas / audio books and it's always a pain to find the position where you stopped listening days ago. So finally i decided to write a new plugin for a bookmarking feature. Since there had been a couple of posts in this forum where users asked for audio bookmarks, i post it here - perhaps it can be useful for others too. The code is based on the What was that tune? plugin from mherger (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?100756-Announce-What-Was-That-Tune-pluginhighlight=what+was+that+tune) - thanks for that really handy tool and all the other work you do for the squeezebox system. There are some distinct differences: - BookmarkHistory only works with local music, not with internet streams (this is by design, as i use the album-id to identify the currently played album) - It keeps track of the tracknumber and the position in a track of an album you listen to (independent of the player you use) - Albums are automatically removed from the bookmark list when you reach the end of the last track (remember: this is for setting bookmarks, not for storing favourites) It works automatically: - In the settings of the plugin you select the genres for which bookmarks should be used. - If you play an album with a matching genre the plugin will keep track of the tracknumber and the position in the track while the album is played. - The bookmarked albums are listed in the plugin menu (most recent at the top). Klicking on an album will load the album and start it at the bookmarked position. Installation: - Unzip the attached file in your Plugins folder. - Activate the plugin in Settings - Plugins. - Check the plugin configuration: The settings are self explanatory. You should at least define a value for the genre filter or the plugin will also be used for music albums (which presumably you don't want) . The filter is a list of comma separated keywords - only albums in which the genre contains one of the keywords are used for bookmarking. Some notes and caveats: - Albums *need to be tagged with tracknumbers starting from 1 ascending*, otherwise the plugin will jump to the wrong track. - Rewind and next buttons wont work for bookmarked albums (because these also trigger the newsong event which then jumps back to the bookmarked position). You can, however, use the scroll bar. - If a genre is dropped from the List of genres setting it may happen that bookmarks of albums with this genre are kept in the bookmark list, even if they are fully played. - If you start an album from the My Music menu and you select the track that the bookmark is set to, the player will jump to the bookmarked position (if you select another track the track will play from the start and the plugin updates the bookmark. - Because the plugin uses the album_id's to identify an album the bookmarks will be wiped when you perform a Full rescan of the database Please note that i am by no means an experienced squeezebox developer and i usually don't write code in Perl, so expect some bugs. Anyway, i have tested this with - recent 7.9 nightly build server - but it should also work with older versions - Radio, Receiver (and iPeng on an iPod touch) as clients - iPeng, Squeezepad as controller apps on iPod and iPad, Squeeze Control on Android and it works quite well for me. +---+ |Filename: BookmarkHistory.zip | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=17119| +---+ sternenjaeger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=57562 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102859 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Yes and there is as well the COMPATIBILITY file that should help choosing parameters. The only parameter Sonos really requires is that stream length set to a value like 10. Having said that., Sonos works also with flac and pcm, you do not have to use MP3 BUT Sonos does not accept sample size of 24 bits in flac. LMS 7.7.2 - 5 radio, 3 Boom, 4 Duet, 1 Touch, 1 SB2.
