2015-06-15 Thread bpa

The log had two sorts of errors which triggered the rebuffering

1. Timeout - this timeout is controlled by WebUI
Settings/Advanced/Network/Radio Station Timeout - if it is 3 or less
can you try increasings it to say 10.
2. Failure to connect but there are Radiovis error functionality around
the same time - can you disable Radiovis in Plugin settings to if
problem is related in some way.

I'm not sure what you are logging but the following will track the most
common issues.. Note time you start playing and also note time you get
 problems.
 network.asyncdns to INFO
 network.asynchttp to INFO
 plugin.bbciplayer to INFO

I am now logging as above, and have just had a bout of bad behaviour
from BBC R2 and R4. Log file attached. Approximate times when it
rebuffered are:

9:17:30 (not after 9:18:00)
9:43:00 (v approx)
10:39:00
10:40:10
10:40:40
10:41:30

On one of them (I think 10:40:10) it stopped altogether and I had to
press Play again. There are quite a few errors in the log file and I
have no idea what they mean.

I also looked at the results of ipconfig /all which shows that DNS
servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 are being used. Any help much
appreciated...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] announce: squeeze2upnp, a bridge between LMS and uPNP devices

2015-06-15 Thread itm

It looks like Scan for UPnP devices every 30(s) during 15(s) works.
There was a small problem when I first tried to play back a track - the
GUI showed the track playing, but the receiver wasn't playing it, and
after a few seconds the GUI showed the track as stopped. I tried again
and everything was fine.

It looks like I'm finally up and running - many thanks for all your help

My guess would be that, given you are playing mp3s, the stream_length

It looks like the Sony is in repeat mode (at the level of the player
itself, not in LMS). Do you see such an option in the UI of the player ?
There is a playback option in UPnP control for that, but I do not use it
as it is disabled by default. Do you feel confortable enough with tools
like UPnP http://opentools.homeip.net/dev-tools-for-upnp ? If you do,
use DeviceSpy, check under you player AVTransport part SetPlayMode
if there is anything about repeat. If you don't, I'll do a test
version that forces no repeat through UPnP. What is your OS ?

Ok - have done that and will see what happens. I also changed Radio

The Radio Station Timeout is already set to 15 which I guess is long
enough from what you say. This must be the default as I don't think I
ever changed it. There is also a Radio Station Buffer Seconds which is
set to 3. I'll change this to 15, which I suspect will just mask the

relevant.

Justr in case - keep server.asynchhttp is set to INFO and check for

The reason why I think 3 secs is too short is because BBC sends audio in
6-8 secs chunk and so when LMS is fetching next chunk sometime there
could be less than 3 secs left in audio buffer. When timeout occurs the
Plugin HSL implementation terminates the stream.

Will do. And I'll set the buffer to 10s then - sounds like that is what
the BBC require ... Fingers x'd!

Not the Radio Station Buffer Seconds the Radio Station Timeout

Ah - Timeout was already set to 15. Buffer was set to 3. Sounds like
that is all ok then. Well, I'll see how disabling Show Live Text and
Show Slide Show helps things. Once again, thanks for your help...

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] BBCiPlayer Plugins - an alternative quick fix guide

2015-06-15 Thread rasta-p

Hello,

Thank you for all the effort in getting the iplayer back. I seems to
have a small problem:

- I followed the guide.
- Installed triodes new alpha plugin.
- Installed bpa extra plugin.
- Since i'm using ubuntu 14.10 I followed that part of the guide as
well.
- Using LMS 7.9.0 from a nightly build yesterday.

Every time I try to play a BBC essential mix i get this is in the log:
[15-06-15 21:45:39.9103] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::iPlayer::_msParse (271)
error:
syntax error at line 1, column 0, byte 0 at
/usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/XML/Parser.pm line 187.
[15-06-15 21:45:39.9124] Plugins::BBCiPlayer::iPlayer::_msParse (271)
error:
syntax error at line 1, column 0, byte 0 at
/usr/share/squeezeboxserver/CPAN/XML/Parser.pm line 187.

Does any one have an idea to what i might try? Could the problem be
somewhere else?

Could you explain further what menu options you were taking?

Thanks, that did it! Will ffmpeg now correctly handle the files which
really have that mime type? Thanks

The change has the potential to break LMS functionality for URLs which
currently use the MIME type audio/x-mpegurl properly. Worst case is
the URLs will not play. More likely is that metadata or ffw/rew
abilities could be compromised.

The station should use the correct MIME type just like they should use
correct ways of playing stream and not rely on browser type to to
choose stream type.
