Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Max2Play Webinterface for Mediaclients (Audioplayer, Squeezeserver, Airplay, XBMC)

2015-06-29 Thread flysurfer

Hi Ronnie,

the Addon you are looking for is the Advanced Setup Odroid U3. With
this you can change the blinking Power-LED and change the action for the
power-button.

You may try to build and load the driver for the NorthStar DAC with the
kernel-sources like your link suggests
(https://github.com/panicking/snd-usb-asyncaudio/wiki). But you will
need to get the Kernel-Sources for the Raspberry PI from somewhere.
There are different ways to get the kernel headers, but apt-get install
kernel-headers-$(uname -r) won't work... These links should be helpful:

- get the Kernel headers: https://github.com/notro/rpi-source/wiki
- some more infos and links:
https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=33t=108075

Cheers,
Stefan

Thanks a lot Stefan.

Just a couple of quick questions.

1) This is for the raspberry pi? and I can just SSH in with Putty and
carry out the commands (I run Windows mostly, though I do have a Linux
Mint Live CD).

When I try the Dac on my Odroid, if there is no driver, can I use the
same commands?

I won't be home until Tuesday pm so will have to wait.

Thanks again for your excellent support; if you keep this up, I will
have to buy something.:p:)

Regards

Ronnie.

tracks, not just limited to the high resolution tracks. I changed the
ALSA option on Squeezelite to 300::16:0 and that seemed to resolve the
problem. I'll be checking this out remotely this weekend or next.

I have checked the Raspberry Pi with the version 2.15 of Max2Play. My
LMS at home recognized the Squeezelite player. However, when I tried to
play a track I got no output and the track advanced to 11 seconds and
then jumped to the next track. THere was no putput through the
headphone either.
I though that it might be a handshaking issue with HDMI, but the
Shairport worked excellent!
I don't think that it is an internet resrtiction either, because I have
orange squeeze and squeezezplyaer loaded on my Samsung Galaxy and Kindle
Fire as well as Squeezeplayer on my old laptop and they al connecetd
fine to the remote server.

When I switched over to the SD card with picoreplayer, I got sound
output but it too only played for 11 seconds and then jumped to the next
track where I then got no sound output.

Any suggestions?

This was compiled on a Raspberry PI 2 - but should also work on a
Raspberry PI B. It think it will not work on a ODROID because it has an
other Kernel version. For the ODROID you have to do the same procedure
(get Kernel headers + compile sources from the panicking github
repository). But on the PI it was little more difficult and I had to
change some lines in the source files due to changes in the ALSA sound
interface (this is the reason why I created the package for you ;) ).

I think the question was clear, and the answer too. There is no such
 plugin AFAIK.
You can ask the LMS server via the CLI (JSON) and get the playlist for a
specific player, and do whatever you fancy from there on. There might be
a slight complexity however, since a playlist may contain both local and
non-local items; a copy won't be always possible. Also a playlist might
contain hundreds of songs, and the copy/zip operation could disrupt LMS
timely operation (like transcoding, synching...) and this is a no-no.

I believe most users simply share their music folders using
samba/nfs/whatever and access files this way.

Thanks for the reply. My interest is in accessing files of my own, that
I've favorited and added to a playlist as part of my own workflow. Once
I've used LMS to earmark a set of files for use, I need to have copies
of those files in another location. I'm doing that one file at a time,
as described above. Tanscoding isn't necessary and I've got control over
what's in the playlist and they're all local files.

I've never used the CLI for LMS. Do you know if there's a tutorial
somewhere?

Alright, I realized that the color flash you're seeing is the default
color I set that is shown before any of the preferences are loaded. I'll
change that to a dark gray, it should be less jarring.

I don't plan on stopping anytime soon, especially if people keep asking
for new features. Besides, sales have picked up lately as more people
have upgraded to Android 5.0 and the official Logitech app has stopped
working.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Is there a plugin that will download all tracks in a playlist through the browser?

2015-06-29 Thread epoch1970

Well, tutorials... you're better off searching the forums I guess.
The CLI is detailed in LMS, under Help Technical Information
Command Line Interface (bottom left of the LMS main screen), the API is
probably still mostly correct, but the doc was written at a time the CLI
was accessed via telnet. Nowadays the JSON protocol is used, and the way
to craft/process a JSON transaction depends very much on the scripting
language you're using.
(I for one have posted over the years a few simple perl scripts
performing JSON queries. Python or JS seem to be a more popular
option.)

There might be another way of doing this. If you have a saved playlist,
could you access the opml (?) file and parse it somehow?

Thank you... Yes it was AVG. If I disable it, squeeze player works fine.
Odd though as I disabled AVG but left the firewall active which resolves
the issue. If I disable the firewall only (which I tried before posting
here) it doesn't help!

Adding the 9000 and 3483 ports and squeeze player app hasn't helped
either!

I'll keep trying... Defo just an AVG issue anyway!

Thanks again

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Is there a plugin that will download all tracks in a playlist through the browser?

2015-06-29 Thread epoch1970

Will, you might want to try disabling your anti-virus. I have not gotten

Squeezeplay did not work together on Win7 at least (with the Synology

I wonder whether someone could update Squeezeplay as well. BTW, does the

How do you set up flac to flac conversation with in LMS?

 Gesendet von iPhone mit Tapatalk

Extract from the user's guide made by PasTim

4.3 LMS Options
LMS has many options. The main ones that may affect sq2u are the LMS
File Types (see Settings, Advanced, in the Drop Down). This is
discussed in Section 2.2 above.
Some renderers do not support re-positioning of flac well. If you have
this problem you need to create a custom transcoding rule. You first
need to find the convert.conf file on your system (on linux this is in
/etc/squeezeboxserver). This file contains the rules LMS uses to
transcode from one format to another. To add a new rule, create a new
file called 'custom-convert.conf' in the same directory and restart LMS.
This file should contain:
(if you copy-paste below,be careful with the indentation)
flc flc * *
# IR
[flac] -cs - -
This tells LMS to create a complete new flac file when a flac starts
playing or is re-positioned. The LMS File Type for flac should now show
flac transcoded to 'flac' rather than 'native'.

LMS 7.7.2 - 5 radio, 3 Boom, 4 Duet, 1 Touch, 1 SB2. Sonos 2xPLAY:1,
PLAY:3, PLAY:5, Marantz NR1603, JBL OnBeat, XBMC, Foobar2000, XBoxOne

Thread title speaks for itself.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.

AFAICT there's no such plugin. And it wouldn't even make sense, as this
should rather be implemented client side: the web server can only send
one response, eg. one file. As others mentioned before you'd have to
wrap the files into one archive or the like.

You'd better have a client side script which grabs the URLs from the
server using the status query, then downloads one file after the other.
