That was here
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?105828-a-fast-CRC32-for-Perl&p=857089&viewfull=1#post857089
and I agree, my answer was not correct, I meant handling of 64 bit
integer, not a 64 bit Perl build. This warning is because I declare
(from memory) a const that is 64 bits, but in all my tests, the used
value is 64 bits, so I left it like that.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: ShairTunes2 plugin - Airtunes on your LMS

2016-08-22 Thread philippe_44

As promised, here is a Windows version in this repo

Code:

  http://tenet.dl.sourceforge.net/project/lms-shairtunes2/dev/repo-sf.xml

It' also adds the following

- Possibility to stream to synchronized players (metadata are not
displayed on slave players, I need Guru's help to figure this one out)
- Better time progress consistency when using an Airtunes playlist
- Built-in mDNS server to remove dependecny from avahi and others
(although they are tried before falling back to built-in version)

x86, x64, armv5hf and osx are there as well, but very lighty tested

@disaster123: all the code is here
https://github.com/philippe44/ShairTunes2. I tried to do a few
modifcations and a real github fork, but it quickly diverged and I was
not able, when adding all the changes and my build environment to keep
it properly organized, so it's an independent version currently. I hope
you won't take offense of that, and we can work to bring things back
together.

I've just about given up trying to get the zipp working!

With zero analogue setting, the player quits between 10-20 mins. If I
set failed scans to 0, then it's never discovered.

Choosing analogue at some value (eg. 50) then it works (discovered and
stays connected) but gui volume control is erratic - and seems limited
so the higher volumes are restricted.

Very frustrating, as the Pioneer via airplay works brilliantly.

I did consider doing this, but decided against it as the scanning
process would then have to start walking up the directory tree for each
media file it finds, looking to see if the appropriately named file is
in one of the parent directories. It'd also have to be careful not to
walk up higher than the top level of the music library!

When Michael did his optimisations, I think one of the big performance
hits he found was in actually looking for the library file in the
directory, which is why this is now cached during the scanning process.

I might have a look at some point to see just how much of a performance
hit this would be.

The first time I ran the exe, Avast popped up with a warning that the
exe may be dangerous. It reported that the possible infection was very

LogitechMediaServer 7.9.0 with the Qobuz plugin on Linux Debian on a
home made NAS
Raspberry Pi 2 with HifiBerry DAC Pro
Yamaha AX-592
A pair of JMLab (Focal) Cobalt
A Qobuz Sublime Subscription

And recently, I've bought a Fiio X7 with AM2 (with latest Etymotic

Qobuz application, or Squeeze Player and Squeeze Commander... I don't
really like the Qobuz application. It's helpful to select songs, and to
browse. However, SB Player connected to the LMS with the Qobuz pluggin
works great, even for streaming Hi-Res purchases..

Perfect setting all together.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Squeeze-Controller [windows, linux, osx] Alpha, Testers Wanted

2016-08-22 Thread bagawire

At last!!

I've been using slimserver since SB1 came out in like 2002 or something.
I've run on Windows in various forms and on vortexbox, and now in a bid
to save energy I'm running on an RPi3 with a 1TB collection on a USB
drive (using Max2Play). Physical players are all over the house in
various forms. Up until now I thought the RPi was struggling with the
amount of music, but this is so quick that I think it was actually the
webUI that was slowing things up.

Squeeze-Controller app is what I've been missing. And the interface is
thoughtful, clean and clear. And the response time is amazing - much
faster that webUI on my setup. Really good!

Next on the list for me would be:

- some playlist stuff; drag to reorder, button to view info, playlist
  save / clear
- make breadcrumb in left pane persistent (e.g. "Home > My Music > New
Music" stays at top of list if I scroll down)
- artwork bigger-sized preview on click
- customise Home menu items?
- integration with physical media keys (F7 - F12)

But, truthfully, for me this is already better than anything I've had
before so I'm super-happy! This app will be open all day every day from
now on.

Thanks so much michi.
